Group bullying, that's rather a tradition in the military culture of Earth, year 0791, in Takamanohara's Space Army.
Whether it's the military academy or the grassroots armies, the situation is even more severe in the Space Navy Fleet. Everywhere is rife with bullying, oppression, discrimination, and suppression from superiors to subordinates, from old soldiers to new recruits, from male soldiers to female soldiers, from contract soldiers to reservists, from the warriors of Takamanohara to foreigners from vassal states.
Although the military is inherently the most authoritarian and violent institution of mankind, emphasizing the chain of command is indeed necessary, it doesn't justify widespread equality and freedom. But it's clearly evident that Takamanohara's Space Army has much more feudal autocratic tendencies than any other spacefaring civilization.
