Chapter 583 - 583. Genesis!!

Beyond the Asgard Dimension, within the boundless turbulence of space.

A piercing whistle echoed as a train, resembling a medieval steam locomotive, sped through the chaotic void. Gears roared, and powerful energy turned into billowing smoke.

Inside the locomotive, Brainstorm frantically tapped on the tablet in her hands.

"Damn it… Damn it all."

Hearing her sister mutter to herself, the anxious Powerhouse leaned in, unable to hold back. "What's wrong? Still no contact with the Overseers?"

"It's not as simple as you think. The space here is highly unstable, and we're at the very edge of the dimension. Connecting to the Overseers's data source is incredibly difficult." Brainstorm was drenched in sweat.

Ever since they had left the Asgardian Realm, Brainstorm had been trying to contact their parents. They were well aware of how dire the situation had become.

Peregrine Child and the Three Mothers were far from ordinary foes. Enemies of this caliber… even the Avengers of old might not have been able to stand against them.

Although they trusted Alex and knew he possessed unimaginable power, trust was one thing—worry was another. There was always the chance something could go wrong.

At this moment, reaching the Overseers was their only hope. If their father could get there in time, perhaps he could offer Alex some assistance. However, no matter how many signals Brainstorm sent out, none of them seemed to transmit beyond their immediate surroundings—let alone receive any response.

"But isn't the Overseers supposed to rule over an entire timeline of the Wasteland Universe? Even if these dimensions exist on the fringes of reality, they should still be within his jurisdiction," Powerhouse frowned.

"That's the theory, but these dimensions are like the shadowed side of reality. The Overseers can only monitor what's under the sun. His influence over this side is much weaker."

Brainstorm explained briefly before snapping her head toward her brother.

"Don't forget why Alex brought us here in the first place. If the Overseers could detect changes in magical dimensions, Alex wouldn't have needed to go through all this trouble to create these tools."

"So, what you're saying is… this place isn't even within the Overseers's sight?" Powerhouse's heart sank. "Then… can we at least reach the heroes in the House of Mystery?"

"That's exactly what I'm trying to do."

Brainstorm shook her head in frustration and let out a sigh.

"In theory, even if the Overseers can't perceive magical dimensions, this area is still part of his domain. If my signal can reach the House of Mystery, then we might be able to communicate our situation.

If that happens, Dad might have a way to open a portal here and pull us all to safety."

"Wait… but what about that creature and those three twisted beings?" Powerhouse asked.

"What else can we do? We cut the knot with a sharp blade. If we use the Ultimate Eraser, we can wipe this entire dimension out." Brainstorm didn't even look back.

"But isn't Alex's goal to find magical dimensions? If we want to bring magic back to the Wasteland, we can't just erase them," Powerhouse pointed out.

Brainstorm could only shake her head. "At this point, we don't have the luxury of thinking that far ahead. Just stop distracting me—I need to link my tablet to the train's control console.

This train has Dad's stabilizer and radar built in. If I can sync them, I might be able to send out a signal with the right frequency. Maybe then, the House of Mystery will hear us."

Powerhouse let out a long sigh. He walked over to the window, pressing his palm against the cold glass, his expression complicated as he gazed back toward the Asgard Dimension.

"…Is there really no other way?"

Brainstorm's fingers hesitated for a moment as she tinkered with the control panel. Her voice was quiet when she finally spoke.

"Maybe there is. But it's not something we can afford to consider right now. You saw those creatures. Unless you have a way to make them vomit all the energy they've devoured, nothing else will matter."

Just as her words fell, a sudden ghostly light erupted from the mist shrouding the Asgard Dimension.

Noticing the eerie spectacle, Powerhouse furrowed his brows, pressing himself against the window to get a clearer look.

It was a light beyond description.

At first, it was small, barely noticeable.

But then, the energy surged outward like a nuclear detonation, an overwhelming tide of destruction rippling across the cosmos.

The black clouds that had enveloped the Asgard Dimension were shredded to pieces in an instant. Multicolored energy waves spread like a galactic river, twinkling like starlight. Every strand of light carried unimaginable power.

At the moment of detonation, no sound emerged. In the turbulence of space, the silence was so profound that even the fall of a pin would have been deafening.

Powerhouse was stunned, his mind blank as he stared at the sight before him, unable to utter a single word.

By the time he snapped out of his daze, the radiant energy and the deafening, continuous explosions had already reached them—not just toward their train, but expanding across the entire universe.

"Watch out!"

There was no time to think. Powerhouse instinctively leaped in front of Brainstorm, spreading his arms wide as boundless cosmic energy instantly condensed into a shimmering silver barrier.

The very moment the barrier took form, a tidal wave of energy—like a cosmic tsunami—crashed down upon them.

Brainstorm barely had time to react before an indescribable roar filled her ears. Shocked, she immediately crouched down, wrapping her arms tightly around her knees.

The entire locomotive trembled violently. They were like a fragile boat caught in a raging storm, tossed back and forth by the surging waves, on the verge of being overturned and obliterated.

Amidst the terrifying energy fluctuations, Powerhouse stood unwavering, a steadfast shield before Brainstorm.

The locomotive's protective systems had long since failed, and even the outer structure of the train had begun to break apart, piece by piece.

But this unknown energy was not merely destroying everything around it—it was changing everything caught within its grasp.

The once-red train now shimmered with dazzling, iridescent light, reshaped by the overwhelming energy tide.

The Stark Industries emblem on the locomotive shifted rapidly, cycling through dozens of languages in mere seconds—never repeating, never pausing.

Countless magical symbols and forbidden scripts were crudely etched onto the train's surface, their incomprehensible knowledge blaring like a deafening broadcast.

Yet, anyone attempting to listen closely would find the meanings slipping through their grasp, their minds at risk of shattering under the sheer weight of the arcane force—plunging them into madness.

Brainstorm clutched her head, screaming. Without any superpowers of her own, she had no defense against this energy. It felt as though something was invading her mind, burrowing into her thoughts.

"GET OUT!"

Powerhouse's furious roar cut through the chaos, his eyes erupting with a brilliant white light.

Had one looked closely, they would have seen entire galaxies swirling within his pupils, an endless starry ocean taking form.

At that moment, the energy within Powerhouse detonated outward, forcibly expelling the unknown entities attempting to rewrite the train's very existence.

His expression turned cold. With a calm, measured gaze, he extended his arms, his entire body transforming into a radiant beacon of light.

Sensing a sudden stillness in the chaos, Brainstorm hesitantly opened her eyes. She was about to assess the situation when she froze—her brother was becoming light.

Her mouth parted slightly as she watched the gentle glow intensify, growing brighter and brighter.

The white radiance washed over her, filling her with warmth. She stared in stunned silence, her mind blank.

Beyond the train, amidst the swirling space-time currents, a colossal figure slowly took shape. A towering titan, sculpted from pure, luminous energy, standing defiantly against the chaos.

She didn't understand what it was, but she knew—it was her brother.

The Giant of Light stretched out its arms, shielding the locomotive within its vast embrace.

Simultaneously, the raging energy tides around them shifted, drawn toward the radiant figure. Those wild, ominous, and chaotic forces—previously untamed—now obeyed a new command. The glowing titan absorbed them, pulling them into itself.

The trembling, wailing train finally stabilized, and the swirling masses of energy condensed into spiraling galaxies, orbiting the giant before being devoured.

Though this energy was but a fraction of the cataclysmic surge that had just erupted, it rivaled the power of the grandest magical dimensions.

As Franklin became the Giant of Light, he didn't fully understand what was happening—he merely absorbed.

But then, a whisper—faint yet undeniable—echoed in his mind, and suddenly, it all made sense:

The beacon in the wasteland has been lit. The Old Gods' laws fade into the twilight.

The devourer of all energies has become the cataclysm. The echoes of creation have ignited at the edge of reality, sweeping through the universe at an unstoppable pace.

Magic...

...has returned.
