As we stood there, frozen in uncertainty, the frost dragon's gaze suddenly snapped back into focus. Its eyes cleared, and it regarded us with a piercing intensity that made my heart skip a beat.
Lumi, however, seemed unaffected by the dragon's sudden change in demeanour. She took a step forward, her voice gentle and soothing. "Noble dragon, I sense that you are troubled and your spirit is disturbed. What is it that ails you?"
The dragon's gaze flickered to Lumi for a moment. It regarded her for a long, silent moment as if sizing her up. And then, in a voice that was like thunder, it spoke.
"I am cursed," it said. "A dark sorcery has taken hold of my mind and heart. I am no longer in control of my actions."
Lumi's eyes widened, as she took a step back, her hand on her heart. "Oh, noble dragon," she whispered, her voice trembling with compassion. "I am so sorry. If you allow, then we will do everything in our power to help you. My master will help you. She's very strong."
