He wasn't too surprised by Malik breaking free of his control. He didn't have the patience to carefully layer his suggestion like Nosphaleen did. And he also had no intention of using Nosphaleen's usual methods to execute things.
The fact that he could get Malik to obey his words for a short time at all just went to show how powerful his Will was. If he had targeted an F-Grade with similar talent to Malik, they would have probably been at his beck and call for the rest of their lives without even the slightest chance to change their fates.
