Chapter 20 - File N: "Nullified Numbness"

The ladder stretched endlessly upwards, disappearing into a haze of uncertainty. The dreamworld party stood at its base, a mix of determination and apprehension evident on their faces. Hero, normally composed and fearless, now wore a fearful expression, his eyes fixed on the spider creatures that skittered around, their presence an obstacle in their path to Otherworld.

Omori, always observant, noticed Hero's unease and stepped closer. "What's wrong, Hero?" he asked, his tone calm but concerned.

Hero's voice trembled slightly as he replied, "It's these spider creatures. They're blocking our way up the ladder. I've never seen them behave like this before."

Kel chimed in, his usual bravado tinged with caution. "We need to find a way past them. Otherworld is our next destination, and we can't let these creatures stop us."

Basil, ever the strategist, surveyed the situation. "We'll need a plan. Aubrey, Mari, can you two provide some support from here? We might need to distract the spiders while the main party moves forward."

Aubrey nodded, determination shining in her eyes. "Count on us. We'll create a diversion so you can climb without interference."

Mari, her usual calm demeanor unwavering, added, "Stay focused, everyone. We've overcome challenges before, and we'll do it again."

With a nod of agreement from Omori, the party split into two groups—main party and support. As they prepared to face the spider creatures and ascend the ladder, a sense of determination and unity filled the air, driving them forward despite the obstacles in their path.

Then , Omori tag Hero to switch who is the leader so he can use his knife "I can just slash the cobwebs away…..Besides , I should have known your still scared of spiders.." Kel whistles "You okay Bro? Maybe Omori can handle enemies like these for us.."

Omori's suggestion to switch leaders and take on the cobwebs with his knife earned a nod of approval from Hero, who admitted with a wry smile, "Yeah, spiders have always been my weakness."

Kel teased Hero lightly, adding, "Looks like Omori's our spider-slaying hero today. Don't worry, Bro, we've got your back."

With roles reassigned and a plan in motion, Omori took the lead, his knife poised to cut through the cobwebs. The main party followed closely, ready to support Omori and clear the path to continue their journey towards Otherworld.

As Omori sliced through the cobwebs with precision, his mind was racing with thoughts. Despite his composed exterior, a hidden fear of spiders lingered within him, a reminder of vulnerabilities he rarely acknowledged.

Basil noticed Omori's internal struggle and offered a supportive smile as he helped clear the remaining spiders with his shears. "Don't worry, Omori. We all have our fears, even ones we don't show outwardly. Facing them is what makes us stronger."

Omori nodded silently, grateful for Basil's understanding. He focused on the task at hand, pushing aside his unease to ensure the path was clear for the group. Each step forward was a triumph over his anxieties, a small victory in their journey through the dream world.

While Aubrey and Mari work together to spot other enemies that might bother them. Coast is clear as Kel sighs "Phew!!! Look…wait wait guys!!!" As he beams picking a pebble stone "I found a good rock here!!! I shall name him HECTOR!!!

Kel's excitement over the pebble named Hector drew chuckles from the group, lightening the tension from the encounter with spiders. Aubrey smiled teasingly, "Really, Kel? Hector the pebble? What's next, a full backstory for him?"

Mari joined in the fun, adding, "Maybe Hector has a secret power to ward off spiders! Good find, Kel."

Hero, still a bit shaken from the spider encounter, managed a small smile. "At least Hector can be our mascot for good luck. Thanks, Kel."

With a playful spirit and Hector now part of their journey, they continued their ascent toward the Otherworld, united in their quest despite the challenges they faced along the way.

Omori and Basil shrug it off as they receive bits of clams from the small task successful and the party level up more. Then, Omori tagged Kel to take the lead this time as he spoke "Sure Kel , but don't lose it…since you name such a rock.."

As Kel took the lead, his excitement for leading the group was palpable. "You got it, Omori! Don't worry, Hector and I will lead us straight to victory!" He grinned, holding Hector proudly as they continued their journey.

Basil chuckled, "I think Hector might be our lucky charm after all."

With renewed determination and a touch of humor, they pressed on, facing whatever challenges awaited them on their path to Otherworld.

Kel safely puts it onto his pastel-colored shorts of a pocket and climbs a bit upward first for the ladder, second Hero chuckling at how ridiculous Kel has found a new companion. Basil next, Aubrey then lastly Omori Surprised Mari wants him to ride behind her back as they climb as he asks shyly "M-mari wh-why now?"

Mari smiled warmly at Omori, her eyes filled with trust and reassurance. "I know you can handle it, Omori. Plus, I've got your back, quite literally in this case." She adjusted her position to ensure Omori felt secure as they climbed.

Omori nodded, feeling a sense of comfort with Mari's support. "Thanks, Mari. I'll make sure to watch our backs, too."

With their teamwork and determination, they continued their ascent up the ladder, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them in the next stage of their adventure.

As they keep climbing , Kel whistles and uttered "How you all doing guys? Hopefully there's no one scared of heights despite we already climb this before last time…"

Kel's question breaks the silence, drawing attention to their progress. Omori responds calmly, "I'm fine with heights. It's just the unexpected spider encounter that caught me off guard earlier."

Hero chimes in with a grin, "I'm good, too. Heights don't bother me. As long as we're together, we can handle anything, right?"

Basil nods in agreement, his focus on the climb. "Exactly. We've faced challenges together before, and we'll do it again."

Aubrey adds cheerfully, "No fear of heights here! I'm more worried about what's waiting for us at the top."

Mari's voice carries a hint of excitement. "I believe in us. We'll tackle whatever comes our way."

With their spirits high and determination unshaken, they continue their ascent, each step bringing them closer to their goal in the dreamworld.

As Kel came out first and landed on the ground of otherworld and slowly help the rest upward. Mari place Omori down gently as Omori added "Hero remind me…why are you so scared of spiders again?"

As the group gathered in the Otherworld, Hero took a moment to compose himself before replying to Omori's question. "It's a long story, Omori. When I was younger, I had a pretty bad encounter with a spider. Ever since then, they've just... unsettled me."

Omori nodded, understanding. "Ah, I see. It's okay, Hero. We all have our fears and past experiences that shape us."

Mari glanced at Hero with a comforting smile. "You're not alone, Hero. We're here for you, always."

Kel, ever the optimist, added, "And hey, now we know we can handle spider encounters in the dreamworld, right?"

With their camaraderie and support for each other, they stood ready to explore the wonders and challenges that awaited them in the Otherworld.

After time passes as they enter the junkyard area of the otherworld. (Sub-area) Aubrey gasped angrily "what?!!! But me and Hero with Kel Swore this side quest there's a secret passage wait…what was it again? Some dream city right?"

Aubrey's frustration was palpable as she tried to recall the details of the secret passage. Hero chimed in, his expression thoughtful. "I remember now. It's supposed to lead to a hidden dream city, or at least that's what the rumors say."

Kel nodded eagerly, adding, "Yeah! We heard about it from some of the dreamworld locals. They mentioned it's a hidden gem, literally!"

Basil, always the strategist, suggested, "Perhaps we should split into smaller groups to search more efficiently. Omori and I can check this side of the junkyard while Aubrey, Hero, and Kel explore the other side."

Omori nodded in agreement, ready to assist in the search. "Sounds like a plan. Let's see if we can uncover this hidden passage."

With their roles assigned, the group split up to navigate the maze-like junkyard in search of the elusive secret passage to the dream city.

Then Mari smiles "I think I can standby the nearest picnic spot for you guys to rejuvenate later that good?" As Omori got hesitant until Hero spoke "Yes Mari!!! Just make sure you don't lose your picnic basket okay?"

Mari's smile brightened at Hero's words. "Of course, Hero! I'll keep a close eye on it. You can count on me."

Omori nodded, reassured by Hero's reminder. "Thank you, Mari. We'll make sure to come back and regroup at the picnic spot."

With Mari's support secured, the group continued their exploration of the junkyard, each step bringing them closer to unraveling the mystery of the hidden dream city.

Meanwhile , Hero Kel and Aubrey walk in their side. As Aubrey ask "Hey Kel , I know you , Basil and especially Omori and Mari wanna brush it off yet…what was that creature back at the train many times ago like before meeting up with me and Hero at Rain town?"

Kel scratched his head, trying to recall. "Oh, you mean that weird creature? It was like a mix of a spider and something else, but its lower body was more deer and hoof-like. Omori seemed a bit spooked by it, but we didn't really get a good look at it before it scurried off."

Aubrey nodded, a thoughtful expression on her face. "Yeah, it was definitely strange. I wonder if it has anything to do with the changes in the dreamworld lately."

Hero chimed in, "We should keep an eye out for any more of those creatures. They might hold some clues about what's going on."

With their curiosity piqued, they continued their exploration, keen on uncovering any secrets that might be lurking in the junkyard.

Next , in Omori and Basil traveling, he feels uneasy when Basil takes charge as he ask "wait Basil…why did you suggest it's just the two of us exploring this part of Junkyard?"

Omori's question hung in the air for a moment as Basil glanced around, taking in their surroundings. He then turned to Omori with a gentle smile, trying to ease his unease. "I thought it might be a good opportunity for us to have some quiet time together, away from the hustle and bustle of the main group. Plus, there might be things here that only you and I can handle."

Omori nodded, understanding Basil's point. "I see. It's just... I feel like there's something more to it. Like you're trying to protect me or keep something from the others."

Basil's smile softened, and he placed a reassuring hand on Omori's shoulder. "I promise, Omori, I'm not keeping anything from anyone. We're a team, and we'll face whatever comes our way together. But if you ever feel uncomfortable or want to join the others, just let me know."

Omori nodded again, feeling a bit more at ease with Basil's explanation. "Alright, let's see what we can find here then."

With that, they continued their exploration of the junkyard, their bond as friends and allies growing stronger with each step they took.

Then he felt uneasy again when only he can spot some lingering silhouette of that same doppleganger being that looks like Basil but it's casting on their shadow as he uttered "Although , you also tell me…is there something deeper you wanna continue like where we left off back in Rain town of Orange Oasis? You were having your own thoughts in that eerie encounter of that mysterious enemy back at train…"

Omori's words brought a somber expression to Basil's face as he considered the question. He glanced at the lingering silhouette, his thoughts briefly drifting back to the unsettling encounter on the train. After a moment, he turned back to Omori, his voice low and serious.

"You're perceptive, Omori. That encounter... it left me with a lot to think about. I can't shake the feeling that there's more to that creature than meets the eye. It felt... familiar, in a way. Almost like a reflection of something deeper within me."

Omori's gaze remained steady, prompting Basil to continue. "I've been trying to piece together what it could mean, but it's like grasping at shadows. Whatever it is, I believe it's connected to our journey, to Mari, to all of us. And I can't shake the feeling that we'll have to confront it eventually."

Basil's words hung in the air, a sense of anticipation and uncertainty filling the space between them. Omori nodded, his expression serious yet determined. "We'll face it together, Basil. Whatever it is, we'll confront it as a team."

Basil's smile returned, albeit a bit strained. "Thanks, Omori. Knowing I have your support means a lot. Let's keep our eyes and minds open as we continue our journey."

With renewed determination, they delved deeper into the junkyard, their shared unease now tempered by a sense of unity and purpose.

Suddenly , there's another keyboard letter piece he felt Basil can't notice but he instantly tag Basil to switch the lead and tap the keyboard when before he did. Basil shift his tone and hold Omori's wrist with a scared expression of red eyes "OMORI , WHY did it target you? And you seem too oddly calm picking something I can't see…."

As Omori felt Basil's grip tighten on his wrist, he glanced at the keyboard letter piece he had picked up, a sense of apprehension creeping in. He could sense Basil's fear and urgency, a stark contrast to his own calm demeanor.

"Basil, I... I'm not sure why it targeted me," Omori replied, trying to keep his voice steady despite the rising tension. "But this letter piece... it feels important, like a piece of a puzzle we're trying to solve."

Basil's red eyes reflected his growing concern as he released Omori's wrist, his expression still tense. "We need to be careful, Omori. Whatever this is, it's not something to take lightly."

Omori nodded, his mind racing with possibilities. "Agreed, Basil. Let's keep it safe for now and continue to be vigilant."

With that, they resumed their exploration, the weight of the unknown pressing upon them as they navigated through the mysteries of the otherworld.

Then suddenly , it flickers back to blackspace as Omori shield Basil from a jump scare-like hallucination of a screeching Mari (which isn't really her) up until this time he and Basil are in blackspace. Atleast that's what he thought when turning around "Basil are you ok—-ay?" As he notice Basil is bleeding and slowly melted away infront of him as he gasp until the doppleganger that looks like Basil behind him spoke "Do you remember now? Sunny?"[1]

Omori's mind raced, trying to make sense of the situation. Memories and fragments of another life seemed to stir within him, adding to the already bewildering experience of blackspace. But despite the confusion, a sense of determination flickered in his eyes as he faced the doppleganger.

"I... I remember some things," Omori admitted cautiously, unsure of what exactly he was recalling. "But who really are you?"

The doppelganger's expression shifted, a mix of familiarity and mystery dancing in their eyes. "I am a part of you, Sunny. A part that knows the truth you've been hiding."

Omori's pulse quickened, the weight of secrets and suppressed memories pressing upon him. In this strange realm of black space, where truths often surfaced, he braced himself for whatever revelations awaited.

He groans and prepares his knife as the stranger has claw-like hands despite sharing the same silhouette as Basil for dreamworld Basil vanishes by his side as he mutters "Then why bother me? I don't need the TRUTH…if I had no idea what truth you're talking about STRANGER…."

Omori's grip tightened on his knife, a mixture of defiance and unease in his stance. The stranger's presence, cloaked in familiarity yet shrouded in mystery, only added to the tension in the air.

"I don't need the truth," Omori repeated, his voice steadier but tinged with uncertainty. "I have enough to deal with already. Whatever you're here for, it won't change anything."

The stranger regarded him with an inscrutable gaze, their claw-like hands hovering in the air. "But Sunny, the truth has a way of finding its path. Denying it only prolongs the inevitable."

Omori's mind raced with conflicting thoughts. The allure of hidden truths clashed with the comfort of ignorance, each vying for dominance within him. Yet, deep down, a part of him yearned to understand, to unravel the mysteries that had been buried.

"I'll face the truth on my own terms," Omori declared, a quiet determination in his eyes. "If it's meant to be revealed, then let it come when the time is right. Until then, you have no power over me."

With that resolve, he took a step back, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, whether they were within the depths of his mind or the unknown realms of black space.

He use his red hands to chain up the stranger.

The aftermath left Omori breathless, his mind swirling with a storm of conflicting emotions. The echoes of the stranger's words lingered, haunting him in the aftermath of the confrontation.

"Why can't you listen? Are you real?" The amalgamation of voices, a blend of Basil's familiarity and an eerie, unsettling tone, struck a chord within Omori.

As he slashed away the apparition, the return to white space brought a stark contrast to the darkness that had enveloped them moments ago. Omori's chest heaved with each breath, and tears welled up in his eyes, surprising him with their presence.

"What's wrong with me?" he whispered to himself, his voice barely audible in the silence of white space. The weight of unanswered questions and hidden truths pressed upon him, leaving him grappling with doubts and uncertainties.

In that moment of vulnerability, Omori allowed himself to acknowledge the turmoil within, a step towards understanding his own complexities and the intricacies of the journey he was on.

Mewo's presence brought a sense of comfort to Omori, a gentle reminder of familiarity in the midst of emotional turbulence.

"Ohh M-Mewo... H-hi... how are you?" Omori's voice trembled slightly, but there was a softness in his tone as he reached out to pet Mewo. The simple interaction with the black kitten offered a moment of solace, grounding him in the present and easing the residual tension from the encounter in blackspace.

As he continued to stroke Mewo's fur, a faint smile tugged at the corners of Omori's lips, a small expression of gratitude for the companionship and silent understanding the cat provided.

Mewo meows translates (is something went wrong again Omori? You seem distress than usual)

Mewo's meow seemed almost empathetic, as if sensing Omori's inner turmoil.

"I... I think so, Mewo," Omori replied softly, his gaze shifting from the cat to the white space around them. "It's just... things feel... different. Like there's something I'm missing, or maybe something I'm supposed to remember..."

His voice trailed off, uncertainty lingering in the air as he tried to articulate the unease that had settled within him.

He groans "I can.." as he gulps gesturing his knife "I can't…not yet…MEWO is there anyway I can make sure that STRANGER is Banished in the Abyss part of Blackspace?"

Mewo purred softly, a reassuring presence in the otherwise empty white space. Its meow carried a sense of understanding.

"You can't banish what's already part of you," Mewo meowed. "But you can face it. Sometimes the answers we seek are within ourselves, even in the darkest corners of our minds."

Omori nodded slowly, absorbing Mewo's words. "I guess... I guess I have to confront whatever that was. Even if it's unsettling..."

Mewo gave a gentle meow of encouragement, nudging Omori's hand with its head.

He pet it more purring. As he groans "What I should do? I don't understand what is wants from me…especially for Basil and my sister…"

Mewo tilted its head, offering a comforting presence as Omori voiced his concerns.

"Maybe it's not about what it wants from you, but what you want to understand," Mewo meowed softly. "Sometimes, facing our fears and uncertainties can lead to clarity. Perhaps exploring those hidden parts of your mind could reveal insights about Basil, your sister, and even yourself."

Omori pondered Mewo's words, feeling a bit lighter despite the lingering unease. "You're right, Mewo. I can't keep avoiding it. I'll try to face it, whatever it is."

Mewo purred in approval, standing by Omori's side as he gathered his resolve to delve back into the depths of his mind.

As he felt expressionless again "although it's time to take a break.." drops Mewo down before walking around white space "since it might bother my adventures again maybe another time.." As he slowly reach out the grey door that when it opens. What happens next is that Sunny woke up crying in his sleep and it was Basil just back to serve some breakfast for both of them (besides Kel in the background whistling by to help do the chores Sunny for him instead)

As Sunny's tear-stained eyes fluttered open, he found himself in the comforting presence of Basil, who had returned with breakfast. Kel's cheerful whistle in the background added to the cozy atmosphere.

Sunny wiped his eyes, feeling a mix of confusion and relief. "B-Basil, I had a strange dream... It felt so real."

Basil placed the breakfast on the table and sat beside Sunny, concern etched on his face. "What happened in your dream, Sunny? Do you want to talk about it?"

Sunny shook his head, trying to collect his thoughts. "I... I saw something unsettling, but it's all fading now. Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me."

Basil nodded understandingly. "Dreams can be like that sometimes, especially when things are on your mind. But remember, I'm here for you if you need to talk or if anything else comes up."

Sunny managed a small smile, grateful for Basil's presence. "Thanks, Basil. I appreciate you being here."

With that, they began their breakfast together, the warmth of friendship and support filling the room as they moved forward from the unsettling dream.

Basil then notice Sunny's tears as he wipe it away softly "Still Sunny , you did enjoy my sleepover with your last night right? Is sharing your bed isn't the cause of it?" As he makes sure Sunny sits up to eat his breakfast.

Basil's gentle touch and concern were evident as he wiped away Sunny's tears and encouraged him to sit up for breakfast.

Sunny nodded, a hint of embarrassment coloring his cheeks. "I did enjoy it, Basil. Sharing my bed with you wasn't the issue; it's just... the dream felt so real, you know?"

Basil nodded sympathetically. "Dreams can be intense sometimes, especially when we're going through a lot. But remember, it's just a dream. What matters is that we're here together now."

Sunny smiled gratefully, feeling reassured by Basil's words. "You're right, Basil. Thanks for always being understanding."

Basil returned the smile warmly. "Anytime, Sunny. We're in this together, through dreams and reality."

With that, they focused on their breakfast, enjoying each other's company and the comfort of their friendship.

Meanwhile , they almost choke when Kel knock by the open bedroom door "so is our precious sleepy sunshine up now? Hopefully, I can hear those DREAMWORLD adventures wait…he had a nightmare did he Basil?"

Kel's playful interruption brought a light chuckle from Basil as he glanced at Sunny, who seemed a bit flustered.

Basil nodded, confirming Kel's guess. "Yeah, he had a rough night with some vivid dreams. But he's doing better now."

Sunny managed a sheepish smile. "Yeah, just a nightmare. Nothing to worry about, Kel."

Kel grinned mischievously. "Well, if it's nothing, then I guess I won't hear about any exciting dream adventures. Maybe next time, huh?"

Basil shot Kel a playful look. "Let Sunny wake up properly first, Kel. Then he can decide if he wants to share."

Kel nodded dramatically. "Understood, Captain Basil! I'll be waiting for the grand dream adventure report."

With that, Kel bounced off to presumably cause more chaos elsewhere, leaving Basil and Sunny to finish their breakfast peacefully.

Sunny smiles "wait when did Kel return to the house again? And what time did you wake up? Did I sleep too deep today?"

Basil chuckled softly. "Kel arrived early this morning, just before I woke you up. You must have slept deeply; I didn't want to disturb you until you naturally woke up."

Sunny nodded, taking a sip of his drink. "Thanks for letting me sleep in a bit. I guess I needed it after that nightmare."

Basil's expression softened. "Of course, Sunny. It's important to get enough rest, especially after unsettling dreams. Are you feeling better now?"

Sunny nodded again, a faint smile on his lips. "Yeah, much better. Thanks for being here, Basil."

Basil smiled warmly. "Anytime, Sunny. I'll always be here for you."

Their conversation continued over breakfast, gradually easing into lighter topics as they started their day together.

As he ate a bit he glance at comatose Mari "Did my parents leave a text via my cellphone yet? It's really odd if I can't do my chor—" As Basil spoke "Actually Kel and I did it for you…" As Sunny skeptically ask "then who did the routine for Mari's caretaking? What if one of you mess up?"

Basil reassured Sunny, "Don't worry, Kel and I took care of everything, including Mari's care routine. We made sure to follow the instructions precisely, so everything should be in order."

Sunny nodded, feeling a bit relieved. "Thanks, Basil. Sorry for doubting you guys. It's just been a lot lately."

Basil placed a hand on Sunny's shoulder. "No need to apologize, Sunny. We're all in this together, and we'll make sure everything runs smoothly."

With that reassurance, Sunny focused on his breakfast, feeling grateful for the support of his friends during these challenging times.

As he finish and they went outside his bedroom , Kel was happily adjusting the decorations of the house of the Miyamoto[2] "Buenos Dias , mi Amigo!!![3] I mean hey Sunny…does the breakfast help you feel better? Sorry if almost intruding again…my Mama manage to inform your parents to get permission to enter whenever you are busy or still resting somewhat"

Kel's cheerful energy was infectious, and Sunny couldn't help but smile at his friend's enthusiasm. "Thanks, Kel. Breakfast definitely helped, and your Mama's arrangements are always appreciated. You're not intruding at all, by the way. It's nice having everyone around."

Basil chimed in, "Speaking of arrangements, we should probably discuss the schedule for today. Any plans or things you want to do, Sunny?"

Sunny thought for a moment before replying, "I think I'll spend some time writing today. And maybe later, we can go over the dreamworld adventures together."

Kel grinned, "Awesome! I'll make sure to prepare some snacks for our adventure recap."

With their plans set, they spent the day together, balancing daily tasks, relaxation, and a bit of dreamworld exploration, creating a comforting routine amidst the uncertainties of Sunny's life.

Meanwhile , they heard some muttering from the Miyamoto backyard as Sunny gasp "wait , why did I almost forgot…when did Aubrey and Hero are busy having the hooligans help with the materials since yesterday needed to repair the treehouse?" Basil and Kel chuckle. As Sunny innocently rub his eyes "how long were they here guys? And what's the chuckle for?"

Basil chuckled and explained, "They've been here since early morning today, Sunny. You were so immersed in your sleep that you probably didn't notice the time passing."

Kel added with a grin, "And the chuckle? Well, let's just say Aubrey and Hero are quite the dynamic duo when it comes to rallying helpers and getting things done. They've been on a mission to spruce up the treehouse and make it even better for all of us."

Sunny nodded, impressed. "Wow, they really put in a lot of effort. I'll have to thank them properly later."

As they headed towards the backyard to join the treehouse renovation efforts, Sunny couldn't help but feel grateful for such supportive friends, each contributing in their unique ways to make their shared spaces and adventures more enjoyable.

Meanwhile , Hero and Aubrey are nodding when letting the hooligans (Kim , Vance , Angel , Maverick/Mikhael and even Charlene) help out carry some material and supplies. As Kel jump "Yo Bro!!! How is the progress going? And finally our leading sunlight![4]!! is awake!!"

Hero grinned at Kel's energetic greeting. "Hey Kel! Everything's going smoothly here. These guys are a big help with all the heavy lifting."

Aubrey added with a smile, "And now that Sunny's up, we can get his input on how he wants things to look. It's going to be amazing!"

Sunny joined them, still feeling a bit drowsy but excited to see the progress. "Hey everyone, sorry for oversleeping. Wow, you've all been busy!"

Kel clapped Sunny on the back. "No worries, buddy! We've got everything under control. Just tell us your vision for the treehouse, and we'll make it happen!"

With everyone's enthusiasm and teamwork, the treehouse project was well on its way to becoming a cozy and inviting space for their adventures and gatherings.

Aubrey blushed as she gently patted Sunny's head. "Sunny, you'll need to fix your bed hair first... and you're still in your PJs."

Sunny chuckled sheepishly, running a hand through his tousled hair. "Oops, forgot about that. Thanks, Aubrey."

With Aubrey's playful reminder, Sunny quickly freshened up and joined the rest of the group, ready to contribute to the treehouse planning with his ideas and creativity.

Aubrey also commented on how healthy and adorable he is today.

Sunny blushed at Aubrey's compliment, feeling a bit flustered. "You also look cool with umm... your current look."

Kel jumped in with a teasing remark, "Despite the only change is her outf—"

Aubrey playfully punched Kel's cheek, surprising both Basil and Sunny.

Hero chimed in, "Kel, I'm pretty sure even Sunny can tell that the only change Aubrey had compared to yesterday are her clothes. She still has the same hair though."

Kel chuckled as he lightly rubbed his cheek. "Yeah, yeah. So, Sunny, do you need some help with your change for the day?"

Sunny replied softly, "Nah, I can do this, Kel. You and Basil can join Hero and Aubrey first—"

But Aubrey scooted closer to examine his eyes and whispered with care, "You didn't sleep well last night, did you?"

Sunny sighed softly and met Aubrey's gaze with a faint smile. "It was just a weird dream, Aubrey. Nothing to worry about. I'll be fine once I get going with the day."

Aubrey nodded, though her concern lingered in her eyes. "Alright, just make sure to take it easy today, okay?"

Sunny nodded in agreement, grateful for her understanding. As Kel and Basil joined Hero and Aubrey in the background, he took a moment to collect himself before starting his day, knowing he had the support of his friends.

Then as he step back he noticed Mewo mowing with worry by his side (who is a adult black cat in the real world) As Sunny picks it up "Aww Mewo did I or anyone forgot to feed you?"

Sunny gently petted Mewo as he spoke softly, "Don't worry, Mewo. I'll make sure you get your breakfast too. Sorry for forgetting yesterday."

Mewo sways it's tail as Sunny groom the cat well before feeding it before he froze , feeling a whisper of something as he shook his head to relax (it's not real it's not real , just a bad dream….besides Basil said last night it's not the right time to tell THAT day yet…we're repairing the treehouse so when Mari comes back..she.she..)

In another perspective ,

Hero and Aubrey turned to Basil and Kel, curious about Sunny's demeanor that morning. Basil glanced at Kel before replying, "He seemed a bit off, like he had a rough night. But he's trying to keep it together."

Kel nodded in agreement. "Yeah, he was a bit quieter than usual. I think he's just processing stuff, you know?"

Aubrey chimed in, "We should keep an eye on him and make sure he's okay. It's not easy for any of us right now."

With that, they returned to their tasks, each keeping an eye on Sunny and offering support as they worked on the treehouse project.

Hero turn to Basil who wore his gardening gloves again "Hey Basil , how was that sleepover last night to Sunny's place feel like?"

Basil adjusted his gardening gloves before replying to Hero. "It was good. Sunny seemed to appreciate the company. We talked about old times, and it was nice to see him relax a bit, at least for a while."

Hero nodded, a thoughtful expression on his face. "That's good to hear. We all need moments like that, especially with everything going on."

Basil smiled softly. "Yeah, it was a reminder of how important our bond is, no matter what challenges we face."

He then scratch his head "Say Hero , you're very cool you know? Do you know that Sunny looks up to you not just Mari? Pretty sure you're already impressed he does self-care (tried) he even showed me he can cook for himself a bit when his parents are busy…."

Hero grinned, a hint of pride in his eyes. "Thanks, Basil. That means a lot. Sunny's a strong guy, dealing with everything the way he does. It's good to see him taking care of himself and trying to keep things together."

Basil nodded in agreement. "Absolutely. We all have our ways of coping, and Sunny's doing his best. We just need to be there for him, you know?"

Hero clapped Basil's shoulder. "Definitely. We've got each other's backs, no matter what."

Meanwhile , Sunny was washing his face and combing his hair humming the familiar tune he recall Mari does for him to calm down yet froze when he noticed by the Mirror's reflection of something…SOMETHING of a shadow like figure of one eye and round splatter red over the black as he tried to figure out a way to reassure himself by using his cutter from his pocket to wound his own bandaged arms again to relax in relief. Weakly saying "Ow.."[5]

As he finally finish wearing some new clothes not PJs (almost his usual vest and added a bow tie and his usual Shorts , socks and black school shoes) He suddenly felt nauseated when he turn to the stairway down during daytime and felt a flicker of a phobia manifesting as he exhale trying to relax once more (It's fine , I am fine…I should hurry and join them..)

Sunny took a deep breath, trying to push away the rising unease. With each step down the stairway, he focused on the familiar sounds of his friends working on the treehouse project. The mundane task ahead served as a grounding force against the unsettling flicker of fear lingering in his mind.

Then when he finally returns to his backyard he beams at how it's progressing (Woah the ladder is already fixed!!!) he thought

Sunny's enthusiasm returned as he admired the progress on the ladder. "Great job, everyone! The treehouse is coming along nicely."

The hooligans smiles as Kim (one of them) blushed and spoke "this is what Aubrey meant by us repaying that small issue of us stealing Kel and your candies few days ago.."

As Vance her brother by her side she continues to speak, "And for mistreating your situation…"

Vance nodded in agreement with Kim. "Yeah, we wanted to make it right. Plus, building stuff is kinda fun, right?"

Sunny chuckled warmly. "Definitely! And it means a lot that you all are helping out."

Then , Aubrey scoot close and hug her friends "Yeah appreciated guys you spend your freetime today to help me bond with my old 'friends'…" As Angel as he spoke "Well , you are always the boss Aubrey!!! It's pretty neat this is how your old friends used to hangout on.."

Angel's comment brought a smile to Aubrey's face. "Thanks, Angel! It's nice to bring back some good memories and make new ones with all of you."

Hero grinned and asked, "Speaking of old friends, do you think it's time for Sunny to show us some new design ideas? I bet his sketches are full of awesome stuff!"

Aubrey released the hooligans and sighed. "Sorry, almost forgot. So, Sunny, what do you think? Are you up for using your sketchbook to show us more design sketches? Although we already have a pretty good idea of what we want."

Sunny smiled at the suggestion, feeling a surge of motivation. "Sure, I can sketch out some more ideas. It's always good to have options, right?" Kel nodded enthusiastically, while Basil gave a supportive nod, intrigued by Sunny's creative process.

Then minutes later when the hooligans wave to leave. Aubrey blush when Kim and Charlene (other girls of the hooligans besides Vance , Angel and Maverick/Mikhael are boys) of it seems Aubrey got more attach to Sunny out of all her old friends (Kel , Basil and Hero)

Aubrey chuckled nervously as Kim and Charlene waved goodbye. "You guys take care!" she called out, then turned to Sunny, her cheeks tinged with pink. "Looks like I've got a new favorite old friend," she teased, giving Sunny a playful nudge. Sunny blushed but smiled warmly in return, feeling grateful for the bond they were rekindling.

Then , she ask as Sunny continued drawing "So Sunny despite you had a bad dream…you did have those usual good so called DREAMWORLD adventure moments right?"

Sunny nodded, his eyes focused on his sketchbook. "Yeah, they were really something," he replied softly. "It's weird how they can be both comforting and unsettling at times."

Aubrey ask bowing her chewing gum from her jacket pocket "why is that? Sure your art could Uhh…be both adorable and a bit..off (eerie trying not to be rude)…yet why say that to your dreamworld? Basil told us that's something your excited to tell him these past 4 years.."

Sunny paused in his sketching, pondering her question. "It's like... a mix of everything, I guess," he finally said. "Sometimes, it feels like I'm living out moments I wish were real, especially when everyone's together. But then there are these shadows, these doubts, that creep in, reminding me of things I'd rather forget. It's strange, but I suppose that's just how dreams work sometimes."

As he turn to Aubrey as he chuckles "umm enough about me..what about you? I still wonder why you didn't fully dye your hair pink.."

Aubrey chuckled, adjusting her hair. "Well, I figured a touch of pink keeps things interesting, you know? Besides, too much of one color can be overwhelming. Gotta keep it balanced, right?"

As she sighs "anyways was it hard though? Always nursing Mari by yourself or with parents everyday for 4 years. Just at home?"

It was indeed challenging," Sunny admitted, his expression softening. "But it's become a routine, you know? You get used to it, especially when it's someone you care about."

She smiles as he smile back as he blush recalling the time he had as Omori in dreamworld with Aubrey "Uhh Anyways…you didn't really believe Kel when we had our Uhh..moment when I confess and you forgive my actions being the actual culprit of true deface photos of myself of Basil's Photo Albume yesterday so…" As she caress his black short (fluffy) hair saying calmly "About us being lovebirds when we got close at that moment?"

Aubrey chuckled softly. "Well, Kel does have quite the imagination. But you know, Sunny, sometimes even the craziest ideas can spark something real. Who knows what the future holds?"

Sunny notice her cheeks were flush like trying not to say much and her ears got red as he asked "You mean…you don't mind the idea…us..close?"

Aubrey's cheeks turned a deeper shade of red as she tried to play it cool. "I...I don't mind, Sunny. It's just that, well, things are a bit complicated right now with Mari and everything. But I do enjoy spending time with you, that's for sure." She smiled, hoping her words conveyed the mix of emotions she felt.

He felt his heart go doki doki as his eyes dilate for a moment before lifeless again "Sure…sure , here so the sketch I set up what if the pinwheels we safekeep Around the bark of the treehouse use like a fence instead? It could be that cool entrance before the ladder—-" shows his sketchbook

Sunny's suggestion caught Aubrey's attention, and she leaned in to examine the sketch with interest. "That's a neat idea, Sunny! It would add a playful touch to the entrance. We could even add some fairy lights on them for a magical vibe at night," she suggested, her eyes lighting up with excitement at the thought.

Meanwhile , Kel and Hero with Basil sighs as they observe afar. For Kel said "I bet neither of them could get that close right bro? We did recently still reunited and doing this project together incase Mari wakes up.."

Meanwhile , Kel and Hero with Basil sighs as they observe afar. For Kel said "I bet neither of them could get that close right bro? We did recently still reunited and doing this project together incase Mari wakes up.."

Basil thought with his own something (ahh..Sunny is happy….I guess even after all this Time he still has feelings for Aubrey since we're kids…which I kept it a secret…yet….why do I feel off? I should be happy for Sunny…was it because I am still upset with Aubrey mistreating me for the past years before this since the Photo album incident before Sunny admit it himself?)[6]

Kel notice as he nudge "Hey anyways Basil , is there no way Sunny told you he ever interested to try violin again for the past four years before recently for our sakes?"

Basil shrugged slightly, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Not directly, but he did mention once or twice that he missed playing music. I didn't press much on it, though. Maybe he's just focused on other things or didn't want to bring it up. Why do you ask?"

YouKel smiles "It got me thinking during days earlier when we finally let him out of the house..he did mention one time to me and Hero that he might try to practice again as he doubts he can still play well after not doing it for 4 years." As Hero playfully said "admit it Kel , you also missed Sunny playing the violin like all of us do…"

Basil nodded, a faint smile crossing his lips. "Yeah, I admit, it's something I missed too. Sunny had a talent for it. Maybe once things settle down more, he'll feel comfortable enough to pick it up again. It could be a good way for him to unwind and reconnect with something he enjoys."

Suddenly, the three were called out by Aubrey "Hey guys!!! Come here!!! Sunny and I finally managed to sort the next plan of the sketches for the base treehouse interior and walls with windows itself!!!!"

[1] The sudden transition to blackspace and the appearance of a hallucination followed by the doppleganger resembling Basil must have been incredibly disorienting for Omori. His concern for Basil's well-being quickly turned into shock as he realized something was amiss.

"Basil, are you okay?" Omori's voice carried a mix of worry and confusion as he noticed Basil's condition worsening. However, his concern deepened when the doppleganger addressed him as "Sunny," a name from another time and place.

[2] (Sunny and Mari's family name)

[3] good morning my friend

[4] (Sunny)

[5] Sunny's heart raced as he stared at the unsettling reflection in the mirror, the red splatter reminiscent of a haunting memory. His actions, though painful, brought a strange sense of grounding. As he whispered a soft "Ow," it was a reminder of the tangible, a way to tether himself amidst the surreal.

Basil's internal musings reflected a mix of emotions, from happiness for Sunny to a tinge of discomfort regarding Aubrey's past actions. He pondered if his lingering feelings were due to unresolved issues from the photo album incident.
