I stood in my room trying on different outfits since today was the day of Ruvals celebration. before in my past life I couldn't care less about what I wore and just put on whatever was the comfiest but now i have taken a real interest in it I do my best to appear the best I can whenever I head to events. ' no, this one isn't going to work either. ' I think to myself as I throw the outfit, I had to the side.
I head inside my walk-in closet and go through all of what I had and chose two outfits. I was looking at both of them trying to figure out which one i should wear. one of them was a fine green suit with gold Designs embroidered onto it with a white shirt underneath it with black pants. i turn to look at the other one it is like what i usually wear the black robe with gold except for it is more so designed for events such as this evident by the amount of jewelry it has on it. I finally decide I was going to wear the robe. i look myself in the mirror and I simply look beautiful, I want to say handsome but that wouldn't fit given my girlish looks. the gold and jewelry I am wearing looks extravagant to a ordinary person but here in the underworld it is quite normal even I have come to enjoy the lavish lifestyle of devils.
I head out of my room and head straight to the main hall to meet with Diodora and Latia i asked them if they would like to come and they both agreed. Latia was more than happy to join as she loves events and parties, Diodora on the other hand still doesn't get out much he has opened up to me and Latia a lot but nobody else outside of that. i walk down the stairs and see Latia dressed in a red dress holding onto a fan in her hands. " I see you are ready have you heard from Diodora. " i ask her as i make my way over to her.
She shakes her head. " I have not and to be honest I doubt he will be becoming just like the last one." she sighs as she finishes speaking.
i stand next to her. " don't worry I'm sure he will be coming. " I say in a calm voice.
" How can you be so sure you know he doesn't like to go to events like these. " She says while looking my way.
I just shrug my shoulders and give a small smile. there is a good reason why he doesn't like to go out to events like this. I am that reason Diodora is the current heir to clan Astaroth but that wasn't the case for a bit. since i was born with the clan trait of Astaroth and Belial I was made heir to house Astaroth effectively taking it away from Diodora. it was a hasty decision on our parent's part without the consent of either of us. it wasn't long after I was brought to this world that I went to my parents and refused the role of heir and gave it back to Diodora. I was asked why I did that, and I gave them a simple answer and that was when I am lucifer I will lose all ties to my house so i have no need for it. once i did that me and Diodora got along much better but that didn't change the opinions of other devils they believe he is unworthy to be heir as he did not inherit the clan trait of Astaroth. he is aware of what they speak of him and that is why he doesn't go out much.
we waited for about another 10 minutes before Diodora finally arrived. Latia covered her face with her fan as she looked at him. " hmph and here we thought you weren't going to show up. " she says trying to sound upset but we all know she was worried about him.
" ha-ha sorry if I took a while. " He laughs dryly as he looks nervous.
I walk up to him and pat him on his shoulder. " don't worry about it we were in no rush. now shall we head to the Phenex clan. " I say with a smile on my face.
" Yes, let's go. " He says and as he does i form a teleportation circle below our feet taking us to the Phenex clan.
we teleport in front of the Phenex clan gate. there are other devils arriving in groups like us whether by teleportation or vehicle. we walk past other devils and head to the gate and enter the house of the Phenex clan it is like what you would except extravagant and flashy with a lot of fire is the best way to describe it. the man at the door announces our arrival loudly to the other people that are already here. all eyes turn to us for a bit before going back to what they are doing. some of them make their way to us to introduce themselves to us. in a professional manner I greet them a lot of the lords try and introduce their daughters to me in hopes of forming ties with the house of Astaroth through me, but after a while I learned how to deal with people like these.
Diodora went ahead and left for somewhere to be by himself leaving me and Latia to deal with the nobles here. " Hello Alexander, it is good to see you again. " Says the noble Infront of me. I have gotten used to these situations after many times. I greet the many devils that come my way but excuse myself as I see Ravel. " Sorry I have someone I need to meet. " They follow my line of sight and see who I was looking at some with a smile and some with a scowl but they all step back and allow me to move over to ravel.
" Raval. " i call out to her and she turns to my direction. her eyes light up in happiness as i approach her.
" Alex I'm glad you made you made it. " Says Raval in an excited tone with a small blush on her face.
" I told you Raval i wouldn't miss it didn't I. " i say in a polite voice with a smile on my face.
she nods her head and looks down and starts to fidget and shift her feet nervously. " H-h-ha i knew you would come after all I came and gave to you personally. " She says to me placing her hand on her chest in an attempt to sound prideful but just ends up sounding cute.
" that's right how could I turn down an invitation from the Raval. " i say in a joking manner to her causing her to get flustered. " Also do you have somewhere we could talk with just us. " I say to her in a now serious voice which she just nods her head and motions for me to follow and walks away from the crowd I follow her until we reach an isolated corner of the room.
" Is this good. " She turns around to face me.
" Yes, it is thank you Raval. " I say to her which she just nods her head.
" So, what is it you wanted to talk to me about. " She says.
" Right, there are two things. first would be a deal I would like to make with your parents I believe this deal could help benefit both of our clans greatly and the second was when would like to spend some time together since i know i turned down your offer last time and it was kind of rude of me to do so. "
she blushes and puts her hands up. " y-you d-don't need to worry about making it up to me i should have been more aware that you would be busy. " She stammers as she speaks to me obviously taken off guard by my offer to spend some time with her.
" Sorry but I can't let this one go I already told you I will make it up to you. you don't need to come to a decision anytime soon. " I say to her in a caring voice.
she has her head down as she speaks" I'll take you up on your offer thank you. " She looks back up at me now remembering what else I wanted to talk about. " So, what was the deal you wanted to talk to my parents about? " She speaks in a clear voice.
" it's about the Phenex tears. " I say to her bluntly. As I spoke, she became wary of me it is only natural since the Phenex tears are a closely guarded secret to them even young Raval knows how important they are.
she looks at me with suspicion. " Even you should know we aren't going share with you how to make them and even if we did you still won't be able to make them, they are unique to the phenex clan as we are the only ones capable of producing them. " Raval says completely serious.
I shake my head. " that's not what I am asking for. " I say to her trying to dispel her suspicion of me.
she tilts her head and looks now a little bit confused.
" Then what is it. " She now sounds curious as to what my proposition is.
" Me and Ajuka have found a way to dilute the Phenex tears making them weaker but more available to the low and middle-class devils. The Phenex clan only sells to the high-class devils who can afford it but with this you will be able to sell to the rest underworld gaining even more customers. " i speak to her with excitement.
As i finish speaking Raval seems to contemplate what I said, and excitement becomes visible on her face. she nods and looks at me. " It does sound like a good idea, but I have a question how many exactly you get out of one Phenex tear. "
" We get around twenty each time from one. " She looks down and thinks before looking up at me with a smile.
" I will bring this to deal to my parents' attention. " She says happily sticking her hand out for me to shake.
i grab her hand and shake on it. " Thanks ravel this means a lot. " I say to her. she looks at her hand which is holding onto mine and quickly retracts her hand as her face blushes red.
she walks up to me closely and speaks in a low voice. "i-i-it's my pleasure." she quickly kisses me on my cheek before quickly disappearing into the crowd of devils.
I briefly touch the spot on my cheek where Raval kissed me. I'm aware of how Raval feels for me I'm not an idiot but i will say that took me by Suprise.
" NOW ENTERING LORD LUCIFER AND THE GREMORY CLAN. " Announces one of the servants at the door as Sirzechs along with Grayfia walk into the room. everyone gives a polite bow to him as he walks by wearing his usual outfit with Grayfia wearing her maid outfit.
following behind Sirzechs is his father zeoticus Gremory with Venelana Gremory on his right with a little rias in the middle of the both of them wearing a red dress with a not all to happy look on her face.
*clink* *clink* the sound of silverware being tapped against glass could be heard causing everyone to turn their heads and look at the clan head of the phenex clan standing at the top of the staircase.
" Now that everyone is here i wish to express my thanks for the support you all have given to my son Ruval. " As he speaks Ruval walks up behind his father standing on his right side and gives a polite wave to the crowd gathered at the bottom with a charming smile as the guest clap and cheer for him.
" Today is not just a day to celebrate the magnificent achievements of my son.... " He raises the glass of wine to zeoticus who is in the crowd and winks as he also returns the same gesture to him. " But to celebrate the joining of two great noble houses with a long standing and proud history through demonic matrimony between my son riser phenex and the wonderful rias Gremory. " He says proudly as a pillar of flames shoot up from the floor of the middle of the hall and out steps a young riser phenex as he walks over to rias who is stunned by what is happening right now as she is in a state of shock. riser politely bows and gently grabs her hand and gives it a small kiss as he looks up at her with a smile. " I look forward to what our future has in store for us rias. "
the crowd has formed a circle around rias and riser as they give cheers and applause to the now engaged devils but to everyone's Suprise rias hastily pulls her hand back away from riser's grasp as she takes a step back as different emotions swell up inside of rias anger, disgust, horror, betrayal she wore those emotions on her face for everyone to see as tears welled up in the corner of her eyes slowly trickling down her face. it all became too much for rias as she turned around and sprinted for the door. her family called out for her only for it to be no use as she rushes outside and teleports away.
after what just happened with rias this party that was supposed to a joyful moment of celebration turned sour and tense nearly everyone's mood was down. Sirzechs and the rest of the Gremory clan promptly left as their reputation took quite the dive after this even riser left the party in anger and embarrassment. every now and then you could hear a few devils making fun of both riser and rias, but they were escorted out by the guards of the phenex clan.
I knew engament to rias and riser would be soon it had to be, but I wasn't expecting it to happen here. this whole thing will leave a stain on both houses, seriously the parents should have been more aware of how rias would act to this whole situation truth be told I believe this entire thing is their fault.
" Alex. " I turn to look who called out to me and see Diodora approaching me with a wide smile on his face.
" I must say I don't enjoy going out but this... this was worth it. " He says with a smile as he takes a sip from his glass.
" You're enjoying this aren't you Diodora. " I say as I look at him with a deadpanned look.
