As the half-hour countdown approached zero, Gu Tao's breathing tensed when the last 1 turned into a 0. He took a deep breath and quietly waited for the change that was uncertain to be either a pleasant surprise or a jolt of fear.
The lights came back on, the instruments slowly began to operate, and everything returned to normal. It seemed as if nothing had changed. Gu Tao looked around and then glanced at Tifa, who was equally bewildered.
"Check the database."
Upon accessing the database, Gu Tao and Tifa began troubleshooting at high speed, yet they found no changes except for some trivial detail adjustments, similar to the effects of a minor Windows 10 patch.
"Strange..."
Gu Tao muttered to himself: "Satania."
There was no familiar response this time, leaving Gu Tao stunned. He tried calling out again: "Satania?"
