You wake up choking on air. Your heart slams against your ribs like a trapped animal.
The world around you is not the city. It's not the rain.
It's darkness. Pure and endless.
A sharp click echoes in the void. You tilt your head and realize there's a girl kneeling over you, her crimson eyes gleaming in the blackness. A gun—a sleek black pistol—is aimed directly at your groin.
"Welcome to my domain," she says, her voice sweet but cold. "You're early."
You blink, struggling to make sense of her words. "What—who are you?"
She tilts her head. "Lilith. Most people call me Death. But you? You can call me your warden."
You try to sit up, but her grip on the gun tightens.
"Did you really think it would be that easy?" Lilith scoffs. "Ending your own life—escaping the pain? How selfish."
"Did u expect me to continue suffering like that" I shot back. "Dont you know the pain you have caused others by killing yourself" She shot again."Who could possibly care about me commiting suicide" before I could finish uttering these words she grabbed my hand.
We were transported to my mother's home where I saw her mourning me, together with my girlfriend[she didn't get the text so we are still dating] my mom then passed a pen to her with her name engraved on it.
I realized that was the pen I wanted to give her as a gift when I caught her with that man. The same man walked in and held her, I started boiling with anger when I saw the two of them, then two children appeared by his side, I then found out that ,that was her brother.
I tried to reach for her to offer my apologies but I was transported back to the dark room not that I would have even been able to touch her she since I was currently in spirit form.
"I—" You stammer, the memory of your mother's face flashing in your mind. Of Alice… of the stranger's kiss.
"No excuses," she snaps. "By cheating death, you've earned my curse. Until I tire of you, you'll live and die in worlds far beyond your understanding. Consider it punishment. Maybe, just maybe, you'll learn to value the life you threw away."
Before you can argue, she grabs your wrist. The world explodes into blinding light.
