Chapter 142 - As expected, martial artists like traps.

After reuniting with Iron Fist and Colleen, we returned to the tournament.

Luckily, nothing unusual happened in the following days.

The matches proceeded as expected—no other enemies or forces tried to attack us again.

Still, I could feel movements in the shadows. My bees picked up plenty of rumors and gossip.

I stayed alert in case something happened.

On the final day—the day of the award ceremony—we wore different outfits.

I wore a black kimono, as dark as the abyss, with accents and stitching in a lapis lazuli blue and a beautiful gold. It featured designs of mythical beasts like turtles and qilins, and my chest was slightly exposed.

Using HP magic, I changed my hair from its usual black to a deep blue, and my eyes to a glowing yellow—like a dragon's.

On my face, I wore my Majin mask, and activated the divine power: "Vision of a Leaf," concealing my aura and general presence, without activating the mist function.

By my side stood the two stars of the night.

Danny wore an outfit similar to mine, but in dark green and yellow, with his sexy chest clearly on display.

Colleen wore a feminine kimono in shades of pink and silver, surrounded by an aura of strength and sword energy. In her hand, she held an unusual umbrella—clearly a disguised blade.

I looked at them both and smiled.

"Let's go."

"Of course," they replied, and we headed toward the venue.

On the way, I opened a telepathic channel between us.

"For today, I ask that you all stay alert. Nothing has happened over the last few days, so if something is still planned—it'll happen today."

"I know, man. Do you really think something will happen?" Danny asked.

I shrugged, signaling that I wasn't sure.

"I don't know. But better to be prepared. Especially you, Danny—you're a bit more separated from us." I said, and we continued talking about other matters, including some of the unique spaces of this dimension.

At the grand arena,

the entire venue had been decorated with symbols and beasts representing the Seven Immortal Cities.

The center floor was now a beautiful wood tone, inscribed with stunning and mystical runes and symbols.

The elder I met at the waterfall wasn't present today; instead, the ceremony was led by several individuals wearing neutral gray kimonos.

Looking around, I saw a stage honoring the top three fighters.

In third place was the champion of the Radiant Crane City.

Second went to the champion of Silent Wave City—also known as Tiger Island.

And of course, the winner was the champion of Kunlun: Iron Fist.

Once the three champions were in place, the sound of drums and ancient instruments echoed throughout the arena.

Performers entered, dancing in various styles—some fierce, others elegant, some disciplined—but somehow, they all harmonized. As music and dance fell into sync, mystical energy and chi began to resonate.

Seven individuals representing each Immortal City projected beams of chi to the center.

A radiant light burst forth, enveloping Iron Fist in a multicolored glow that represented the honor of all seven cities. Lesser lights wrapped around the other two champions.

The Tiger champion's light was slightly stronger than that of the Radiant Crane champion.

These lights symbolized the authority and interdimensional influence granted to the champions and their cities.

And as those lights began to fade, I received a signal from my bees. My Haki flared, and I quickly sensed what they had detected.

My hands moved swiftly, forming numerous hand seals before stopping on one final gesture.

I opened my mouth.

"To all Kunlun members beside me—prepare yourselves. Colleen, you too."

Everyone was confused, but before they could ask anything, the senses of the stronger ones in the arena suddenly flared.

They looked to the side and were shocked to see weapons—hidden and otherwise—being halted by an invisible barrier.

On the ground, small black letters formed and solidified the barrier.

The attack against us was the signal.

Countless individuals began invading and attacking members of the Immortal Cities—most notably, the three champions.

Stronger fighters emerged, launching deadly weapons and waves of internal energy.

Each attacker radiated corrupt, dangerous energy—reminiscent of the cities, but… different.

Of course, the most striking event happened right next to me.

Inside the barrier, I saw Davos and two supposed Kunlun members attacking our group.

Three allies were quickly injured.

Davos charged straight at Colleen, who used her sword to defend herself.

The other two came for me. As soon as they got close, I used my ancient domination power.

Without lifting a finger, their bodies collapsed—crushed by my overwhelming mental energy.

"Let's clear some space, shall we?"

A wand appeared in my right hand. Using the energy from the barrier, I cast an advanced spell:

"Protego Diabolico."

As I spun slightly, soul energy and dimensional magic surged.

Blue flames—more intense than usual, empowered by my draconic fire—erupted.

They rushed toward the enemies with terrifying speed and undeniable power.

Many were burned, some reduced to ash.

As for the two closest to me…

My left fingers aimed at each of them, releasing sharp-thread projectiles into their necks or hearts, killing them instantly.

Once that was done, I turned and saw Davos overwhelming Colleen. Without delay, I moved my left hand swiftly—

Four sharp threads flew toward him.

Sensing danger, he jumped back, dodging most of them—but one still sliced his leg.

He looked at me and recognized the threat, then quickly retreated across the battlefield.

I smiled at the sight.

With another wave of my wand, I channeled more soul energy and world magic.

Blue flames rose and flew fast, morphing into fire ravens that shot toward the attackers.

Davos didn't back down and threw himself straight into the flames.

My eyes glowed with mental power.

I saw that his body was protected by Chi—strong and corrupted, with a high absorption nature.

That's what allowed him to endure the flames without much harm.

I frowned but didn't chase him.

Instead, I continued spreading the flames—this time, opening two paths. One ahead, the other behind.

"People of Kunlun, head to the safe area in the back."

They nodded and moved in the indicated direction.

Then, I looked to the side.

"I imagine you want to check on Danny?"

Colleen, already watching the forward path, smiled and nodded.

"Of course. He's still my boyfriend. Besides… I want to fight."

I smiled and placed my hand in front of the open space.

'Ice Make: Ramp,' I whispered in my mind.

A bluish ice ramp formed. At the same time, Shady stood in its shadow, and S-1 appeared beside me and grabbed his weapon.

"I'll leave him to assist you."

Colleen looked like she wanted to say something, but a glance from me silenced her.

In the end, she went down the ramp.

My droid flew after her.

I don't want to protect them constantly, but with the droid there, it's an extra layer of safety—not just for Danny and Colleen, but for the others too.

Once everyone was out, I crouched and touched the ground with my wand.

The flames dispersed like a powerful firewave.

Satisfied, I put my wand away and calmly descended the icy ramp.

As soon as I reached the bottom, I was immediately attacked by two individuals—blades pointed at my body.

With a simple horizontal motion of my left hand—one that seemed to do nothing—their bodies dropped to the ground, lifeless.

A thin white thread, now stained with red, was in my hand.

The other enemies turned to look at me—warily and with fear.

I didn't care.

I moved a finger, and a sword flew into my right hand.

Wind gathered around my body, and my feet were wrapped in a mixture of light magic and Qi from the Wind and Cloud technique.

In an instant, I vanished—reappearing beside the enemies.

My sword moved like lightning, slashing or knocking out every opponent.

In seconds, ten enemies lay on the ground.

Though well-trained and wielding Qi, they couldn't match my martial arts, my speed—empowered by wind, magic, and swordsmanship.

The massacre continued.

I saw Danny chasing Davos, while Colleen pursued enemies wearing symbols of the Handy group.

"How many factions joined forces for this?" I muttered.

From the info I've gathered, the attackers seem to be traitorous members of the Seven Cities, united—and likely aided by Handy remnants.

Just as I finished off the last attackers and prepared to fly after them, I sensed a dense, dangerous energy approaching fast from my right.

My sword moved, releasing a black-and-silver wave of sword intent.

At the same time, my left hand rose and summoned an ice shield—blocking needles, shurikens, and other weapons.

My eyes locked onto the enemy who unleashed the attack.
