"Thank you for your patronage!"
The girl smiled, cheerfully seeing Mei off.
Void Wanderers could contact each other through the interface. Mei discovered this convenient feature after reviewing the guidebook.
The girl saw Mei as a potential big client and added her contact information. Mei opened her interface and saw her name.
Lina Estelle.
As for her own name, it was still a meaningless string of characters. This wasn't a system error; Mei hadn't chosen a name yet.
"Whatever."
She closed the interface. The random characters were fine; she didn't need to contact anyone or let anyone know who she was. Then, Mei's gaze sharpened.
Having finished her business in the space, it was time to return to Earth. She hadn't forgotten the white-haired man's blade at her throat.
She wondered what had happened on Earth to cause the apocalypse; perhaps she would find out upon her return.
She was particularly curious about the white-haired man's mention of "faith markers." This might be a crucial clue.
Tzzz—
Mei chose to leave the space, her figure flickering before vanishing.
Earth.
Mei reappeared. Time resumed its flow; the white-haired man swung his sword, about to sever Mei's head.
In an instant,
Whoooooosh—
Boom!
A surge of immense power erupted, shaking the heavens and the earth. Invisible telekinesis swept outwards, sending numerous buildings flying into the air.
The air and light were distorted beyond recognition, obscuring Mei's form. She stood amidst the ruins, like a god descending to earth.
Bang!
The white-haired man's body slammed into the ruins, leaving a hundred-meter-long trail. His expression was one of disbelief as he struggled to his feet.
"What the hell…?"
Seeing Mei's state, he suddenly understood. His bewildered expression transformed into intense excitement. Spitting out blood, he said, "So, it's a bloodthirsty beast?"
A flash of light.
The white-haired man unleashed a massive strike, cleaving the ruins and targeting Mei. However, a wave of telekinesis shattered the attack.
Mei raised a hand, and the white-haired man involuntarily flew before her, his neck seized. Mei spoke coldly.
"Tell me, who are you? What are faith markers?"
"Cough… cough!"
The white-haired man coughed up blood but showed no fear, his expression wildly excited. He laughed, "Faith markers? Find out for yourself. As for me, I'll be back."
He swung his sword, but before he could attack, he exploded into a bloody mist. Mei didn't mind; she was confident she could obtain the answers from others. The white-haired man wasn't the only one responsible for Earth's destruction.
Mei picked up the white-haired man's longsword. It was incredibly sharp, its blade faintly blood-red. Using her Voice of All Things ability, she listened to the sword's whispers.
"Red steel? Sirius?"
Aliens?!
This was a plausible yet unexpected truth. Mei stored the spoils in her spatial storage, refraining from unleashing her telekinesis across Earth to search for the enemy.
These individuals clearly possessed interstellar travel capabilities; their power and technology were extraordinary.
A large-scale release of telekinesis would not only reveal the enemy's location but also her own, a dangerous tactic without knowing their strength or numbers.
Even without telekinesis, Mei could locate them. Voice of All Things was ideally suited for this situation.
Whoooooosh—
The wind whispered, conveying information to Mei.
"Found them."
Boom!
Mei's figure vanished in an instant, a telekinetic shockwave rippling through the air, creating a crater in the ruins.
One hundred kilometers away, a knight in silver armor fought a man in blue robes; the commotion was immense, the destructive power terrifying.
A dark blue glow surrounded the old man's fist. Despite his age, his body was incredibly strong. He leaped, bringing his fist down with a roar.
"Hmph!"
The knight, undeterred, was enveloped in a silver-white aura. He swung his sword, unleashing a massive strike that met the old man's fist like colliding stars.
Boom!
A deafening explosion created a hundred-meter-wide crater in the ruins. Neither the knight nor the old man showed any signs of injury and continued their fierce battle.
Just as they were about to resume their fight, both paused.
"Let's hold off for now."
"Someone's coming."
As soon as the words were spoken, Mei appeared in the air, the compressed air exploding with a sonic boom, instantly creating a heavy atmosphere.
Mei's arrival sent shivers down the spines of both the knight and the old man; every hair on their bodies stood on end.
A powerhouse!
Undeniably powerful!
Both were battle-hardened veterans with vast experience. They knew instantly that Mei was exceptionally strong.
"Excuse me, gentlemen."
Mei slowly landed on a collapsed skyscraper, addressing them. "If you would be so kind, could you explain your reasons for fighting? Also, what are 'faith markers'?"
This wasn't a request. They would either answer Mei's questions, or she would eliminate them. Mei would show no mercy to those responsible for destroying Earth's civilization.
Mei herself didn't understand the implications of her question. While she remained silent, neither dared to act rashly. After she asked, the knight attacked.
Bang!
The silver-white strike was stopped by her telekinetic shield. The knight, still in a striking pose, was frozen in mid-air, unable to move.
"Wrong answer."
Mei showed no mercy, crushing the knight into scrap metal. The instant she did, she finally understood what a faith marker was.
[Faith Marker Location Change Complete]
[Tokens Acquired: 3000]
A message flooded her mind, followed by a shop interface visible only to her. The message revealed this was a faith marker shop, the "faith markers" the white-haired man had mentioned.
Mei was astonished.
What was this?
Another space?
Logically, this world was already tethered to Hyperdimensional Space and under its control.
Why did a similar space exist?
Mei didn't have time to dwell on it; she focused on the old man, who quickly submitted. "My lord, I am willing to answer your questions."
He had no chance of winning; the power disparity was too great.
...
On a nameless planet in an unknown star system, all that could be seen was a desolate wasteland of ruins. The setting sun hung high in the sky, scorching the land.
Suddenly, a deafening sound shattered the silence. An incredibly powerful strike instantly cleaved the planet in two, its force countering gravity, splitting the planet cleanly.
From distant space, the severed planet could be seen slowly re-approaching each other under the influence of gravity.
Amidst the ruins on a fragment of the planet, a man with long, white hair sheathed his longsword. A crimson glow lingered on the blade's surface.
He closed his eyes, seemingly sensing something, then turned to gaze into the deep cosmos.
"The Milky Way?"
...
The universe's vastness is beyond comprehension. To illustrate, the Sun's volume is 1.3 million times that of Earth. The Milky Way galaxy contains hundreds of millions of stars, and countless galaxies like the Milky Way exist throughout the universe.
Earth and human civilization are insignificant specks in this vast ocean. Countless other races and civilizations exist.
Some races excel in science and technology; others master the application of cosmic energies, exhibiting immense combat prowess with their bodies alone.
The old man explained, "Faith markers have existed for so long their origins are untraceable. Killing those who possess them grants you the marker and tokens. With tokens, you can buy anything—power or knowledge—from the faith marker shop."
Faith markers have always been a secret, but only to most of the universe. Their existence has long been known among the powerful, leading to not only those possessing them hunting each other for tokens but also powerful beings throughout the universe hunting them down.
Fortunately, only those possessing faith markers can sense each other within a certain proximity; those without cannot easily locate them.
The bad news is that some of those possessing faith markers are incredibly powerful. If you don't become strong quickly, someone might eliminate you on a whim.
This is a brutal cosmic hunt. Mei already possesses a faith marker; even if she doesn't hunt others, others will hunt her.
That's why the knight attacked after Mei asked her question; both he and the old man possessed faith markers. If Mei knew about them, she would likely kill them to take their markers and tokens. Strong beings crave power.
"We never cared about destroying civilizations. Countless civilizations and planets are destroyed constantly. We simply followed the faith marker's guidance."
The old man's words were chillingly ruthless.
Mei now understood why Earth's civilization was destroyed. A faith marker possessor arrived on Earth, and others followed the signal.
Or, more simply, a lucky or unlucky person on Earth acquired a faith marker and was killed by a cosmic hunter, leading to more cosmic beings descending, resulting in a conflict that destroyed Earth's civilization.
Survival is difficult.
Mei could only sigh.
"My lord, that's all I know."
"I understand."
Mei acknowledged the old man, who then exploded into a bloody mist. If it weren't for these people, she would likely be home, air-conditioned and gaming, instead of fighting in these ruins.
Indeed,
These people had indirectly led her to the faith marker, but it was Mei who had obtained it through her own strength, not through their actions; she felt no gratitude.
She had no intention of letting any of these cosmic beings escape.
The faith marker shop interface updated.
[Tokens Acquired: 3000]
[Remaining Tokens: 6000]
Mei sat amidst the ruins, mentally accessing the faith marker shop. Countless items were displayed, ranging from food and entertainment to advanced technology, weaponry, and bodily enhancements. Even populations and planets were for sale.
It truly had everything; even resurrecting the dead seemed possible.
To quickly gain power, she could purchase abilities and genetic enhancements, but the prices were high.
Mei had 6000 tokens, not enough for much. After browsing, she found that incredibly powerful telekinesis capable of crushing planets cost 1,000,000 tokens!
Hyperdimensional Space graded abilities, equipment, and items. Tier 1 had the destructive power of conventional firearms; Tier 2 could destroy a modern city; Tier 3 caused localized disasters; and Tier 4 could destroy planets.
Mei's tokens were only enough for Tier 2 items from the faith marker shop. Thinking about Hyperdimensional Space, she quickly realized something.
Abilities and items obtained from Hyperdimensional Space could be brought to Earth, but could abilities and items from the faith marker shop be brought into Hyperdimensional Space?
If not, maximizing the tokens' value meant she couldn't directly buy abilities, equipment, or items for Hyperdimensional Space; it would be wasteful.
Hyperdimensional Space and the faith marker shop presented an incredible opportunity. If used correctly, it could propel her forward exponentially.
"Let's find out."
This couldn't wait.
Mei bought the two cheapest items from the faith marker shop—a useless ability and a virtually worthless piece of equipment.
[200 tokens deducted]
[Remaining Tokens: 5800]
Storing the equipment in her personal spatial storage, Mei immediately returned to Hyperdimensional Space.
As expected, her hypothesis was correct. Upon entering Hyperdimensional Space, the ability purchased from the faith marker shop vanished, and the equipment in her personal spatial storage was also gone; she couldn't even access the faith marker shop interface.
Upon returning to Earth, the ability and equipment reappeared. If dimensional concepts applied, then Hyperdimensional Space seemed to be superior to the faith marker shop.
Earth's universe was a tethered world of Hyperdimensional Space; it couldn't be unaware of the faith marker shop. Since it allowed its existence, Mei would use it freely.
Having confirmed her hypothesis, Mei understood the best way to use tokens: upgrading existing abilities or acquiring knowledge. Her abilities originated in Hyperdimensional Space; using techniques from the faith marker shop to enhance them should be fine.
A beam of light descended from the heavens, precisely targeting Mei.
Boom!
A blinding light, bright as the sun, slowly ascended.
Creak!
Two kilometers away, a fully mechanized cyborg hovered in mid-air, surrounded by shimmering, ethereal constructs, giving her a godlike appearance.
Compared to arduous physical training, cybernetic enhancements were far more efficient; as long as the brain remained intact, limbs and weaponry could be easily replaced.
Many cosmic beings underwent cybernetic augmentation; this woman was clearly one of them, and a highly advanced one at that.
"Target acquired."
The cyborg's voice was devoid of emotion. She was confident her attack wouldn't kill Mei, as she hadn't received any token notifications from the faith marker shop.
Whoooooosh—
The air vibrated. Invisible telekinesis swept towards her; unable to move, the cyborg suddenly emitted a blinding red light.
"Zero-point energy field, activate!"
Boom!
Space trembled. Immense power erupted from the cyborg, the ethereal constructs flowing like blood-red light. The energy field deflected Mei's telekinesis.
"Beep beep beep!"
"Detecting massive energy reaction!"
"Target extremely dangerous!"
The cyborg was on high alert. Mei calmly emerged from the fireball, surprising the cyborg with her ability to resist the energy field.
But only surprised.
Worried about attracting unwanted attention, Mei had been holding back her power since returning to Earth, using less than ten percent, perhaps even one percent, of her full strength.
Mei wasn't one for protracted battles. When it was time to strike, she did so decisively. Dead enemies were the best enemies; she showed no mercy.
Whoooooosh—
From a distance, she clenched her fist, unleashing a massive amount of telekinesis that coalesced into a pale blue mass. If the cyborg's previous attack was a ten, Mei's current attack was a hundred.
The energy field instantly collapsed. The shimmering red constructs shattered. The cyborg spoke, her voice still emotionless.
"My lord, I submit to you!"
Mei didn't respond, her telekinesis instantly obliterating the cyborg into scattered components, the collapsing power core releasing tremendous energy.
Boom!
A powerful blast engulfed the cyborg's remains.
[Tokens Acquired: 20000]
[Remaining Tokens: 25800]
The token reward indicated the cyborg was far stronger than the knight and the old man. Mei wondered if there were even stronger cosmic beings on Earth.
Mei sensed nearby faith markers while using Voice of All Things to monitor the cosmic beings. She quickly located another target; she needed to assess their strength to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
...
A fortnight passed in a flash. Mei eliminated numerous cosmic beings, but hadn't encountered exceptionally strong opponents. Few of those eliminated possessed faith markers, so her token accumulation was slow.
[Remaining Tokens: 64000]
She could sense the locations of the faith marker possessors on Earth, but wouldn't act rashly until she assessed their strength.
With the shop's assistance, faith marker possessors were undoubtedly among the universe's strongest beings, battle-hardened killers. They couldn't be underestimated.
Caution was preferable to reckless death.
Based on the battle remnants left by those cosmic beings, Mei used Voice of All Things to gauge their approximate strength. Combined with information gathered from the cosmic beings, she had a clearer picture.
Many advanced civilizations existed in the universe, but the individual combat strength of most wasn't exceptionally high. Those capable of single-handedly destroying a city were considered powerful figures.
Those possessing planet-destroying power were exceptionally rare. Of course, it was also possible that these beings hadn't encountered such powerful individuals; they certainly hadn't.
Whether there were planet-destroying or even stronger beings among those on Earth remained unknown; Mei was still observing secretly.
A fire flickered in the ruins; Mei had built a fire to cook some meat. Earth's ecosystem was in shambles; finding animals to cook was difficult.
Mei's situation was unique. She was exceptionally powerful, her body fully enhanced, yet remained within the human realm.
Even powerful being like her still needed to eat.
At that moment,
A healthy, cheerful young boy peeked out from behind the ruins, his eyes glued to the meat cooking over the fire. Upon seeing Mei, he quickly retreated.
Mei glanced at him, picking up a piece of cooked meat.
"If you want some, help yourself."
Many cosmic beings looked similar to humans, making it difficult to distinguish them. But Voice of All Things was reliable.
This was an Earth child.
A moment later,
The boy sat by the fire, devouring a roasted rabbit like a starving wolf. He paused, then asked Mei, "Sister, can I take the leftovers?"
"Sure."
"Thank you, sister!"
The boy was overjoyed.
After finishing, he carefully carried away the remaining meat, deeply grateful. Finding roasted meat in the apocalypse was a great blessing.
Mei had no intention of acting as a savior to humanity, but she planned to deal with the cosmic beings on Earth herself.
After eating, Mei, using Voice of All Things, detected an underground structure in the ruins; it would have been difficult to notice without actively scanning underground with telekinesis.
Levels one to three of the structure were completely collapsed from previous battles; levels four and five were abandoned. Only from level six downwards were survivors found.
The underground structure was massive, approximately twenty levels deep. Levels six to twenty were functioning normally, with electricity and water readily available, making it self-sufficient.
Mei explored the facility, discovering gardens, insect farms, and even protein production lines. Insects were a rich source of protein, though not particularly palatable, but in the apocalypse, protein was a valuable resource.
While Mei explored, the survivors were terrified. Security cameras captured her intrusion; they were frantically devising a plan.
In the monitoring room,
A middle-aged man gave urgent instructions. "Have everyone immediately evacuate to the safety bunkers. Remember, no matter what happens, do not come out until the all-clear is given!"
He returned to the monitors.
"Where is she now?"
"Level twenty!"
"She's entered Professor Sun's lab!"
...
Level twenty was equipped with advanced technology; this had clearly been a high-tech laboratory before the apocalypse, and it was still operational.
Numerous cylindrical cultivation chambers lined the lab, containing what appeared to be non-human fetuses pulsating with tiny hearts in nutrient fluid.
"The growth of life is truly remarkable, isn't it?"
An old, silver-haired man paused his work, looking up at Mei's arrival without surprise; he chuckled and spoke of the heavens.
This was Professor Sun, the leader of the underground structure and creator of the survivor base—a biological engineer. Despite his age, he stood tall and straight.
Mei looked at the life forms in the chambers. "Their development is abnormal. Their hearts are too weak; they will die prematurely."
Voice of All Things revealed that these were genetically modified humans cultivated by Professor Sun using the genes of cosmic beings; there were significant shortcomings.
Professor Sun was astonished. "You can see that?"
"Yes."
Mei looked at the other genetically modified humans, representing various stages of development; the most mature one was nearing adulthood.
Cosmic beings possessed unique genes. If Professor Sun could combine these advantageous genes, he could cultivate exceptionally powerful individuals.
While the idea was good, its execution was challenging. Human technology and knowledge made this incredibly difficult.
Unless a miracle occurred.
The two strangers conversed in the lab, Mei unusually talkative.
Soon,
Mei returned to the surface with a jar of insect protein. She tried a bite; it wasn't as unpleasant as she'd imagined, though a bit sticky.
"It would be nice to have some variety."
Sensing a faith marker, Mei went to the coast, gazing out at the vast ocean. A massive shadow moved beneath the surface.
Mei sensed them; they sensed her. Aware of an approaching enemy, they prepared for battle.
Boom!
Waves dozens of meters high erupted from the ocean as a monstrous, terrifying beast leaped from the water, charging directly at Mei, like a falling mountain.
Mei wondered how this thing got to Earth.
Whoooooosh—
Powerful telekinesis shattered the beast's limbs. Blue flesh exploded, staining the water; the beast let out a roar as it crashed to the ground.
Bang!
The colossal beast created a geyser of water upon impact. Mei stood on its head, her tone cold and uncompromising. "Tell me, who is the strongest cosmic being on Earth?"
The beast, feeling its misfortune, instantly recognized her overwhelming power. It answered formally, "To my knowledge, it's the Sea Dragon Empress."
"The Sea Dragon Empress?"
"Sea Dragons are a highly aggressive race in the cosmos. In your Earth terms, that's what they are. She's incredibly powerful; it's said she can sink continents. I've avoided her territory."
Sink continents?
That was nothing Mei couldn't handle.
"Anything else?"
"Nothing."
Bang!
A telekinetic blast reduced the beast to a blue mist. Despite its seemingly weak performance, it was quite strong.
[Tokens Acquired: 30000]
[Remaining Tokens: 94000]
Mei hadn't expected to encounter the Sea Dragon Empress so quickly, but luck was fickle. A few days later, a woman with crimson scales, resembling a dragon, hovered in the air, her gaze domineering, exuding an aura of power.
Brutal, fierce, bloodthirsty.
That was Mei's first impression. She recognized the Sea Dragon Empress from descriptions given by other cosmic beings.
The Sea Dragon Empress faced Mei from a distance, her battle intent palpable. Mei tried to avoid a fight. "Honestly, I don't want to fight you. If possible, let's pretend we haven't seen each other?"
She knew it was pointless; a fight was inevitable. The Sea Dragon Empress didn't seem easy to negotiate with; she just didn't want to make a big commotion and reveal her strength.
Boom!
The Sea Dragon Empress didn't respond verbally, answering with action. With a flap of her wings, she rocketed towards Mei, creating a sonic boom.
However,
Mei was faster. Before the Empress could react, she was thrown back by a powerful telekinetic force. Mei appeared beside her, slamming her face into the ocean.
Boom!
Their speed was too great to be seen clearly; the Empress crashed into the sea, creating massive waves dozens of meters high.
Mei pinned the Sea Dragon Empress to the ocean floor, preventing her from escaping, wanting to see just how much combat power she could unleash.
The Empress's eyes widened in disbelief. In the dim ocean depths, Mei's intense telekinesis vibrated; a dark blue glow filled her eyes.
Whoooooosh—
A telekinetic surge created violent currents, like a heavy hammer striking the seabed, instantly creating a massive fissure. The Sea Dragon Empress coughed up blood, sinking into the deep crack.
After a time,
Two figures burst from the surface. The Sea Dragon Empress was severely wounded, utterly battered—a broken arm and a gaping wound in her abdomen.
The Sea Dragon Empress licked the blood from her lips, unconcerned about her injuries, even feeling exhilarated. "Who are you? Such power in the cosmos doesn't remain nameless."
Mei didn't answer; she asked, "Among the cosmic beings on this planet, is there anyone stronger than you?"
The Sea Dragon Empress grinned, arrogant and proud.
"At least tell me your name."
She ripped off her broken arm and tossed it into the sea. Sea Dragons had average regenerative abilities; a severed limb wouldn't heal quickly, and it was cumbersome to leave it dangling.
"Forget it."
"Such a pity."
Surrender and retreat weren't in the Sea Dragon's vocabulary; only death in battle. Even severely wounded, the Sea Dragon Empress continued fighting, refusing to yield.
After a time,
The Sea Dragon Empress lay dying, experiencing perhaps the most exhilarating and intense battle of her life—but also her most desperate.
The power difference was too vast; there was no hope of victory.
"Star Silver."
"What?"
The Sea Dragon Empress's voice was weak. "You wanted to know if anyone here was stronger than me? I heard Star Silver also came to this planet."
"Star Silver?"
"A white-haired man who likes to use a crimson blade. It's rumored he can cleave planets. I'd love to fight him…"
Her voice faded to silence.
[Tokens Acquired: 70000]
[Remaining Tokens: 164000]
Red steel.
White-haired man.
The Sea Dragon Empress's words set Mei thinking. She retrieved the blood-red longsword from her personal spatial storage, remembering the white-haired man who'd almost killed her.
Was he Star Silver?
The descriptions of the man and the weapon matched, but Mei doubted he could cleave planets. She recalled his words before his death: he'd be back.
This meant only one thing: she hadn't killed Star Silver's true form, only a clone, an avatar, or something similar.
"Is he on Earth? Or is his true form still en route?"
Mei leaned towards the second possibility. If Star Silver were already on Earth, he would have found her. Interplanetary distance wouldn't be a problem for someone capable of cleaving planets.
Furthermore, the Sea Dragon Empress's description made it difficult to determine Star Silver's exact power level; it was unclear whether he could cleave planets or something even more powerful.
Without knowing Star Silver's strength, Mei felt it was risky. She looked at her 160,000 tokens; she could significantly enhance her abilities.
After browsing the faith marker shop, Mei chose a knowledge item: "Telekinesis Deep Dive Manual."
Price: 150,000 tokens.
"This one."
Mei purchased it decisively.
[150,000 tokens deducted]
[Purchase Successful: Telekinesis Deep Dive Manual]
[Remaining Tokens: 14000]
Abilities, equipment, and items not from Hyperdimensional Space couldn't be brought into it. Mei could only buy knowledge and skills from the faith marker shop.
Mei's telekinesis was powerful, but she lacked deep understanding and application techniques. The Telekinesis Deep Dive Manual was perfect.
After the purchase, a flood of information entered her mind. Without study or pain, she instantly mastered all the manual's contents and techniques, as if she'd practiced them countless times. This was the power of the faith marker shop.
Whoooooosh—
Countless enhancement techniques flooded her mind. Mei's surrounding telekinesis vibrated intensely. Through repeated cycles of expansion and contraction, she compressed her telekinesis. Invisible waves formed, radiating a blue glow, like surging tides.
The universe contains countless types of energy: chemical, nuclear, dark energy, void energy, zero-point vacuum energy, and psionic energy, among others.
The common factor is that efficient use of these energies unleashes greater destructive power. This is why the power differences between individuals with similar energy levels can be vast.
Someone who can only utilize ten percent of their energy can't defeat someone who can utilize one hundred percent.
In the universe, energy originating from the mind and spirit is called psionic energy. Telekinesis is one form, and the most widely used.
Mei's previous techniques hadn't been sophisticated enough. She'd always aimed to compress her telekinesis to increase its density and intensity but hadn't succeeded; the techniques were too complex. Now, with the knowledge from the Telekinesis Deep Dive Manual, she finally could.
Higher density meant greater intensity, leading to increased defense, power, and destructive capabilities—its importance was self-evident.
Whoooooosh—
The blue telekinetic tide spread wildly, then rapidly compressed. With each compression, Mei's telekinetic power increased.
Because Mei's telekinesis was exceptionally powerful, she could withstand immense pressure; it took ten compressions to reach the limit.
The overflowing psionic energy caused the surrounding air to vibrate violently; rocks crumbled into dust and floated in the air.
"Whew—"
Mei exhaled; the compression process was strenuous, but the results were astonishing. Ten compressions increased her telekinetic power tenfold!
If her previous telekinetic strength was barbed wire, it was now steel, perhaps even diamond, with near-infinite tensile strength.
The intense blue telekinesis, after maximum compression, returned to its transparent state, indistinguishable from before.
Of course,
The process was reversed. When Mei released her telekinesis, the compressed energy expanded rapidly, covering the same area. The expansion process further increased its destructive power.
"Psionic…"
Mei sensed her telekinesis. She'd first encountered the term "psionic" in the Telekinesis Deep Dive Manual. According to the manual, stronger psionics possess stronger willpower and mental fortitude. Mental and psychic attacks are least effective against them, perhaps completely ineffective.
Their minds and spirits were the strongest in the universe. However, to fully defend against such attacks, thorough preparation was necessary.
Following the techniques in the manual, Mei created a virtually impenetrable mental shield around her mind with her telekinesis. This ensured complete protection.
Unless an enemy could break through Mei's telekinetic defenses, they couldn't breach her mental defenses. For Mei, the difference was minor; one was physical destruction, the other mental. Or perhaps a stronger psionic could control their minds, turning them into puppets.
Furthermore,
Psionic energy had a crucial effect: powerful suppression and damage against ghosts or spectral entities.
Ghosts and spectral beings survive on fear and psychic energy; psionic energy is their nemesis. Such beings are common in the universe. Unless their own psionic abilities are exceptionally strong, spectral beings and ghosts avoid psionic users.
Meanwhile,
In a ruined area on Earth, a boy searching for food found a red egg in the rubble. Its surface resembled scales and was incredibly hard.
"What kind of egg is this?"
The boy tried to crack it open but found it unusually tough; even after hitting it repeatedly, there were no cracks. Intrigued, he took it with him.
