Chapter 241 - Baiting Monsters!

Chapter 241 - Baiting Monsters!

As a supporter, Lili was only Level 1—one of the weakest among them.

However, she had still ventured into the middle floors.

Although she had only barely entered those areas, she had seen Level 2 monsters before.

Level 2 monsters were incredibly powerful.

With her weak strength, she stood no chance against them.

Yet, every monster in front of her looked even stronger and more menacing than the Level 2 monsters she had encountered in the past.

"Mahiro-sama, these monsters..." Lili's voice trembled as she stared at the monsters breaking out of the ground.

Her teeth chattered in fear.

"Level 3 monsters—Battle Boars," Mahiro said thoughtfully.

"That's what they're called, I think."

"Level 3?!" Lili screamed, her body shaking uncontrollably.

Even though she had already suspected it, hearing the confirmation filled her with terror.

"Lili, why are you so surprised?" Mahiro asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Level 3! These are Level 3 monsters!" Lili repeated, her voice filled with panic.

"I know, Lili. You don't have to repeat it," Mahiro replied calmly.

"Why are you so calm? These are Level 3 monsters!" Lili exclaimed, dropping her usual polite tone.

"Isn't it normal for Level 3 monsters to appear on the 25th floor?" Mahiro looked genuinely puzzled. "Lili, you're the one acting strange here."

Hearing this, Lili's expression froze.

"Lili, did you think I was lying earlier?" Mahiro's voice turned cold.

"No, no!" Lili shook her head quickly. "It's just that Lili has only ever been active in the upper floors."

"This is the first time she's seen a Level 3 monster, so she was overly surprised."

'Who would've thought everything you said was actually true?' Lili thought, still reeling from the shock.

This really was the 25th floor. Mahiro hadn't been lying to her.

"The monsters are coming, Lili," Mahiro said, his tone casual. "I didn't expect so many to spawn this time. I might not be able to protect you for a while. Be careful and don't die."

Lili's heart sank.

'I'm just a weak Level 1! You brought me to the 25th floor in an instant, and now you're telling me you can't protect me?'

Looking at the more than twenty Battle Boars emerging from the ground, fierce and menacing, Lili shivered uncontrollably.

Even if these boars were less agile compared to adventurers of the same level, they were still far beyond her capabilities.

She was only Level 1, and a supporter at that.

A single Level 3 monster was enough to kill her. If she wasn't careful, she could die here.

"I believe Mahiro-sama will easily deal with these monsters," Lili said, forcing a sweet smile onto her face.

'Should I abandon this and run away?' The thought crossed her mind, but she immediately dismissed it.

This was the lower floors.

With her Level 1 strength, escaping the Dungeon—or even just the 25th floor—was impossible.

Any monster here could kill her in an instant.

Unless she stumbled upon an adventurer team returning to the surface, she had no chance of survival.

But even then, adventurers weren't exactly charitable. Bringing along a useless supporter like her would be pointless.

Her only hope was Mahiro.

Maybe, just maybe, this guy actually had incredible strength?

Mahiro didn't respond to Lili's flattery.

Instead, he charged straight into the horde of monsters.

Familiar with the Battle Boars' fighting patterns, Mahiro easily killed them.

However, he deliberately left one monster untouched, allowing it to attack Lili.

While Mahiro had no intention of killing Lili, he wasn't about to let her off scot-free.

She had ulterior motives, and Mahiro wasn't the type to repay malice with kindness.

Making her suffer a little was necessary.

As Mahiro slaughtered the boars, he kept an eye on Lili's situation.

If she accidentally died, it would ruin the fun.

He just wanted to teach her a lesson, not end her life.

Compared to Mahiro's ease, Lili was on the verge of a breakdown.

Surviving against a Level 3 monster as a Level 1 adventurer required her to use every trick she had.

Lili clutched a strangely shaped dagger in her hand.

Facing the towering boars, Lili was on the brink of despair.

She had used this dagger multiple times, but it barely scratched the Level 3 monsters.

Instead, it only enraged them further.

The dagger was cracked and on the verge of breaking.

Once it shattered, she would be defenseless.

Lili regretted her greed.

Why had she approached Mahiro yesterday?

If she hadn't, she would still be safely working as a supporter.

The Battle Boar loomed closer, its massive frame casting a shadow over Lili.

Trembling, she activated the dagger, unleashing a burst of flames at the monster.

Boom!

To her astonishment, the boar shuddered violently before disintegrating into ash.

"Did it work?" Lili stared in disbelief.

The dagger was a special item she stole from an adventure and it had only left scorch marks on the boar before.

Even she uses its special feature to blast infront of this monster, it shouldn't have killed it.

What had changed?

"Lili, you're pretty strong! You managed to hold off that monster for so long," Mahiro's voice came from behind.
