The sun had already set as Haku walked up to the old lady who was standing in front of a room with a sound proof one way view window.
Inside was Hakurko who was twisting her scalpel in her hand, playing with it.
Haku glanced at Hakurko before saying, "Hinoka is in a room, safe. Her eyes have deactivated. And she's acting like everything is ok. So then, why did Hakurko attack Hinoka?"
The old lady sighed before saying, "You see, for as long as I can remember, when my aunt gets curious about something, she has to get an answer. And if she doesn't, she takes drastic measures-"
"Like attacking someone?"
"Yeah and she's changed jobs multiple times. Considering how fast her brain works, she's able to learn things fast. When I was younger and she was taking care of me she was a doctor. When for the first time she wasn't able to save her patient and they died of an unknown virus she got interested.
She took in a lot of people who had the same virus. Yet when she finally thought she found a cure there were no more sick left; everyone in the infected village had died.
She even found the cause of the virus—and infected me herself, just to test the cure again. I tried running away out of fear but she chained me up. Luckily the cure worked."
Haku looked at Hakurko with disgust when she turned in his direction and smiled as though she knew he was there while acting completely innocent.
The old lady sighed and said, "I'm going to check on Hinoka."
"Okay, I'll watch over Hakurko and make sure she doesn't get out or try anything," Haku replied.
The old lady made her way to a room as she entered Hinoka was nowhere to be found. She was about to leave when she saw a piece of paper on the bed.
She picked it up reading it as it said, "Hey old lady, I'll be gone for about 3 hours, just going out to clear my head."
"Seriously…" The old lady mumbled as she walked out of the room.
And just as Hinoka had said, after about 3 hours she was back. But both the old lady and Haku where already asleep. And when morning came, Hinoka slept till the sun had set, then gone once again she left leaving a note saying she'd be back late with no explanation of where she was going.
This happened for about 4 more days with the old lady or Haku never managing to see her, before the old lady decided to find out where she was going.
***Hinoka's POV***
I was sitting in a bar, as I said, "One beer please, Noami."
Noami glanced at me and chuckled saying, "I told you no for the past few days, why do you think my answer will change now."
"Because I asked nicely?"
Noami chuckled before saying, "Yeah, no, I can get you what you ordered the last few days though."
"No I'm fine, I have somewhere to be, see you next time."
"See ya."
As I stood up walking towards the exit I started weaving hand signs before I reached the door I turned around as I walked back to the counter saying, "One beer please."
Noami smiled at me, a woman who she thought was in her late 20's. As she gave me a beer. I was about to drink it when someone grabbed it before I could, and drank the whole thing in one gulp.
I turned towards the person only to see the old lady as I said, "Rude much, that was my drink."
She grinned saying, "Yeah you can't have a drink till you're at least 18. And you know what, I'll even share a drink with you when the time comes, but till then I'll drink every drink you want to drink."
I rolled my eyes before saying, "And you broke the genjutsu so easily, I'm sure I hid the fact there even was one well enough."
"Kaida tracked you here and your appearance, long black hair, black eyes, it matches how you looked when we first met so that gave me all the hits I needed."
Just then, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see a large man, with his friend's arm casually draped around the old lady's shoulders.
The man next to me smiled as he said, "Wow, I've never seen such pretty women in the bar before. Where are you from."
I was already in a bad mood but before I could answer the old lady spoke up saying, "Where just passing through. Did you need something?"
"We just thought we should show you girls a nice time." the one next to the old lady replied.
The old lady pushed his hand off as she said, "No thank you." before turning to me saying, "Let's go."
I stood up following her when one of them grabbed my shoulder again as they said, "It wasn't a suggestion."
I snapped as I suddenly flipped him over my shoulder, saying, "I hate when filth like you touch me." as he hit a table breaking it in two.
The people at that table glared at me. One of them swung a punch, but I dodged and they ended up hitting someone else instead.
One thing led to another and before I knew it was an all out fight in the bar.
Naomi stood there as though it was usual as she just drank her problems away.
As I watched the fight, finding it amusing someone tried to punch me but I dogged before kicking them in the face. I turned around as I slashed someone in the neck killing them as their blood splattered across my face and that's when I snapped.
I hit another person making them fall to the ground, as I then started punching their face in. A wide smile on my face as my vision grew blurry.
The warm feeling of the blood on my hands, the screams coming from the rest of the bar exhilarated me, I was having fun I didn't want to stop till the person was dead.
The old lady being a buzzkill suddenly grabbed me as she got me out of the bar.
I tried to attack her but she let go of me, dodging the attack as I asked, "Why did you drag me out of there?!"
"Because you just started a fight in a bar and killed one person, possibly killed two people you could have easily knocked out!"
"So?! I killed them because I wanted to! I was just having a little fun"
The old lady looked taken aback, annoyed and concerned as she said, "I knew something's been wrong with you since that day. We're going back to the lab." before grabbing my hand as she started dragging me back to the lab.
I pulled my hand back as I said, "I have no intentions of going back with you!"
"You're not in a stable state of mind right now! You'll do something you'll end up regretting later!"
"Why do you care?!"
She was starting to get on my nerves, why did she care what I did?! Couldn't she just mind her business!
She ignored my question saying, "We're going back to the lab whether you like it or not!"
We had drawn a few people's attention but I didn't care as I said, "You can't tell me what to do, you're not my mother!"
"Yeah, I know. And trust me, I thank the stars you're not my kid! Uh… Hinoka I didn-"
I didn't let her finish as I said, "You should be happy you don't have any kids cause I can't imagine anyone who would want to be your child! You would be a horrible mother!"
The old lady looked genuinely hurt, but I didn't care. "Fine," she said. "Do whatever you want. I don't care anymore." Then she walked away.
I wanted to stop her yet I couldn't care less.
