Apart from the northern region, the west also began to suffer attacks.
Countless winds of yellow sand swirled into the western border, penetrating inward. Within these yellow winds, demonic creatures emerged, each with a distinct form -- there were demons composed of yellow sand, monsters of desert sandstorms stirring within, and numerous gigantic demons formed from desert creatures such as scorpions and lizards.
Each of these beings carried with them the aridness of the land; if the north sought to render The Mortal Realm as dead and silent mountain ranges, then the west aimed to completely bury The Mortal Realm under the desert.
It's not to say there would be no life, only that it wouldn't be the kind of life found in The Mortal Realm.
This seemed like something humanity couldn't withstand, but then again, this was demons we were talking about.
