Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 edited

Originally, he was just another man on Earth—ordinary, unnoticed. That is, until fate, in the form of the notorious Truck-kun, struck him down. But death was not the end. He awoke in another world, one of cultivation, mysticism, and boundless skies, armed with a system so simple yet awesome: a daily sign-in system.

Each day brought new rewards—spirit stones, divine pills, martial arts from forgotten epochs, items, skills or powers from movies, shows or animes. Power came swiftly, almost too easily. He took the name Zhongli and walked the path of ascension with unmatched grace.

But the true turning point came when the system granted him two character templates: Yan Sen from Cultivator Against Hero Society—a man who could obliterate worlds with a thought—and Yogiri Takatou from Instant Death, whose very gaze could words can cause death to true immortals. With even a fraction of their abilities, Zhongli became a being the heavens themselves would hesitate to provoke.

Eventually, power turned to boredom. He had long since surpassed the realm he'd come to dominate. So, with practiced ease and a few trials, he tore open the veil of dimensions and leapt into the unknown.

But even gods can be cautious.

He placed multiple seals on himself, binding vast swathes of his strength. Who knew if the world he would enter could even contain his true presence?

Arrival in the Dragon Realm

The new world welcomed him not with silence, but a roar. The skies trembled as Zhongli stood before a creature that could eclipse mountains with its breath—a dragon over 10,000 meters long, its body covered in nine-colored, iridescent scales, each one shimmering like divine crystal. But what he faced wasn't the beast itself—it was its divine consciousness, vast as a galaxy.

Zhongli's golden eyes narrowed.

The Dragon God.

His cosmic senses told him more, thus he understood he had arrived in Douluo Dalu world. This was the legendary Dragon Realm, a hidden sanctuary born from the Dragon God's desperation—a fragment of reality carved out after his fall in the Divine Realm, meant to preserve what remained of the once-glorious Dragon Clan.

But even gods fracture.

The Dragon God was... unwell. His mind split in two—one half benevolent and wise, the other bloodthirsty and unstable.

Sensing Zhongli's arrival, the Dragon God roared, a sound that rattled dimension. But mid-bellow, his spiritual body froze. A stillness deeper than death overtook him. Zhongli had lifted a finger.

"I'll start by curing that madness of yours," Zhongli murmured.

He waved his hand. A golden radiance engulfed the Dragon God, piercing through layers of divine thought. The dragon's chaotic mind slowed, focused. Sanity returned like a long-forgotten melody.

The great eyes narrowed onto Zhongli. "Who... are you?" the Dragon God asked, his voice echoing across the plane.

"I'm just a traveler," Zhongli replied with a smile, "bored of his own world and looking for something new."

The Tale of a Broken God

Zhongli listened quietly as the Dragon God, now lucid, unfolded his tale—a saga written in stars and soaked in blood.

He had once wandered the universe, embodying both creation and destruction. He discovered the Douluo Planet and, upon settling, birthed his children—nine Dragon Kings, sent to various worlds to preserve the Dragon Clan's legacy. In time, humanity emerged. The Divine Realm was born, and with it, a hierarchy of gods and beasts.

But ambition is a cruel master.

The Dragon God attempted to elevate the Divine Realm to a Divine Planet—a move the universal laws would not allow. The backlash was catastrophic. His beloved son perished. Rage consumed him. War erupted.

Eighteen God Kings rose to stop him. Seven Dragon Kings died. Three beast gods fell. The Divine Realm burned.

"And then?" Zhongli asked.

The Dragon God's voice turned hollow. "The Asura God nearly struck the final blow… but my divine weapon, the Dragon Slaying Saber, intervened. Misunderstanding the situation, it sparked a second war."

Zhongli's expression remained unreadable.

Dragon God continues." Slowly coming to my senses, I knew thre devastation I caused. Thus I successfully consolidated the divine realm and stabilized it. The divine realm was now less than 1/10 of its original size and the breath was even less than 1% of the original which was now known as Douluo Divine Realm. Next, I instructed the Asura God to not advance the divine realm to a divine planet until he found a way to do so, also to cut my body in half and let my kind side leave and seal my negative side and wear down the negative emotions sealed within, and passed down a law that prevented anyone from the beast clan to become a god."

"And you left?" Zhongli asked.

"I came here... to wait," the Dragon God said, eyes dimming. "For someone worthy to inherit what remains."

Zhongli hummed thoughtfully, his gaze fixed on the vast, fading form of the Dragon God.

"Are you sure," he asked, voice calm yet probing, "that preventing the soul beast clan from becoming gods was truly the right decision?"

The Dragon God slowly shook his massive head, sorrow etched into every word.

"If they had ascended, they would've waged war to free me. You saw what I was like—mad, unstable. I wasn't ready to return to the world. If I had broken free then, I would've drowned it in chaos."

Zhongli's golden eyes narrowed. "But you're stable now. You've regained your mind. Do you plan to go back?... you can easily recreate your body.."

Another shake of the head.

"No. I cannot." His voice dropped into a whisper. "The blood of my children stains my hands. I don't deserve to return."

Zhongli gave a quiet nod. "And what of the soul beasts? From what I understand, the Golden Dragon King is sealed, and the Silver Dragon Queen is still healing. Won't there come a day when they reunite?"

The Dragon God fell silent, lost in thought. Then, slowly, he spoke."Perhaps... there's still a way. Maybe you can help them. I no longer wish for my clan to suffer. If the cultivation methods of your world were available here, if soul beasts didn't need to die for soul rings..."

He trailed off, hope flickering in his ancient eyes.

Zhongli considered this, then said, "Maybe I can reshape the Douluo Plane's power system—introduce techniques that don't rely on slaughter. But even then, I doubt the hostility between humans and soul beasts will vanish. If not for rings, they'll still be hunted—for blood, essence, refined into elixirs or treasures."

The Dragon God gave a weary sigh.

"You're right. The cycle of exploitation might not end. But even a small change... a little less suffering... it would be better than what we have now."

Zhongli inclined his head.

"Then I will try. That much, I can promise."

The Dragon God lifted a single claw, glowing softly. He pointed it at Zhongli's palm. Light surged, and a symbol—the mark of the Dragon God—etched itself into Zhongli's skin, radiating divine power.

"This mark will allow the soul beasts to recognize you," the Dragon God said gently. "They will not harm you. Some may even follow."

Zhongli glanced at the glowing emblem and gave a faint smile. "Then I suppose I'll be back now and then. Consider it a courtesy visit."

The Dragon God gave a final, solemn nod.

"That's all I ask."

As Zhongli turned, the world behind him dimmed. The Dragon God's vast spiritual consciousness slowly faded, dissolving into the bones of Dragon God that laid there.
