"Okay, so how do I name commanders?"
I was talking to Milel, Vitilio, and Marcus.
Marcus nodded.
"It's quite simple, you walk up to the guy, and say, you are my commander now."
Milel sighed but nodded.
"Pretty much, but then you can either give them a title, or let a title be applied to them."
"But do be careful, before Frall was the Vigil Commander, he was that gate commander guy."
I snickered.
"Okay, now to decide who would be in it… how many could I have?"
"As many as you wish, but I would stick to 7 to 10."
"I see… Of course, Garden is absolutely massive."
"Yes, yes, it is."
"You get that when you absorb several factions of varying levels."
"Okay, I'm going to have to interview each one."
"Good idea."
Okay, now to do the interview.
…. I don't know the time, ah, too bad.
Dallel-
"Hello."
"Rose, how did I get here?"
"Don't question it."
"Oookay?"
"Do you want to be a commander?"
"Sure."
"Nice."
Dallel smiled at me, so I continued.
"Why do you want to be a commander?"
"Because, I have been in charge of handling quite a few things, so, having an official title would help with the people who decide to be snarky."
"Nice, and what kind of commander would you be."
"Sort of like you."
"Heh?"
"You can face impossible scenarios and fight without fear. Not only that, but you can motivate everyone to fight as hard if not even harder than you. That's the kind of commander I would want to be."
"O-okay that's good."
I was blushing.
"Thank you for your time."
I interviewed a lot more people, then I got to Darsen.
"Woah, where am I?"
"The interview room."
"Cool."
"Yeah, anyways, do you want to be a commander?"
"That would be epic, so yeah."
"Heh, what kind of commander would you be."
"The unassuming one."
"Hm?"
I knew where he was going. That was exactly what we needed.
"Well, everyone knows me as the happy go lucky guy, right?"
"Yes."
"So, me being a commander would be quite shocking, not only that, but I bet you've have people like Dallel say, 'oh I'll motivate others and fight powerfully.'"
"I have."
"Well, let's look at Gethel, what the man lacked in morals, he made up for in structure. He had Marcus and Kalgero, but he also had Damien. A mole, an assassin. Remember what I used to do before we met."
He used to be a slave breaker, an outlaw that assassinated slavers.
"I have the skills and the tactics, and I may not use it much, but I have shift. It's nowhere near as strong as yours, and I know I need to find a proper unique or ultimate, but think about it, if I am a commander, I could be the shadow behind the throne. The blade against the enemies throat."
I was smiling, it was a dark smile.
"Plus, it'd be awesome to have a bro as a commander. I think it's bro code."
"Maybe it is~"
"Well, that's my piece."
"Thank you for your time."
He warped out, and I smiled.
Oh Darsen~ You were definitely in.
_
The rest of the interviews were quite typical, and I had decided who I was making my commanders.
"But first, sleep."
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
….
Of course, I'm interrupted.
"Gabriel, why have you summoned me?"
"I heard you were picking commanders."
"And? Do you take offense somehow?"
"As my sister is now part of your faction, and somehow alive, I want to attend."
"So?"
"I need permission to enter the world, so I thought to ask you if I could go instead of waiting for Luma to yell in your ear."
"I guess, just don't cause chaos."
"I wasn't planning on it."
He looked at me with an annoyed look, but he said something different.
"Do you have some fancy name for your commanders or are you just going with commander."
"You'll have to wait and see~"
"*Sigh* Anyways, it's been a while since we've spoken civilly."
"Indeed, it has."
"Tea?"
"Thank you."
We sat in silence, both sipping on our tea.
"I wish things were like when they were simpler."
"What do you mean?"
"The Author was mostly motionless, Lucifer was simply in hiding, and the biggest thing I had to worry about was making sure the God Slayers didn't kill you."
"Heh, yeah, it feels like it was years ago when it was maybe one."
"You ascended incredibly quickly."
"I did."
"And everything changed along with it."
"Yep."
"Peace. That's what I want again… but that won't happen anymore unless only one of the Supreme beings remain."
"I see. I'd assume you are referring to the Ruler, Author, and Lucifer?"
"Indeed."
"… I assume you know my plan."
"Become not only a Supreme being, but the only one."
"You are smart, indeed."
We were silent again.
"I will not face you until you come up against the Ruler, but I must warn you that Mil-"
"She loves him."
Gabriel nodded.
"She always had an odd fascination with the Ruler, and it turned into love… I feel like that is when I first figured it out."
"That… he isn't."
"Yes… because he saw her as a tool… he used her feelings… but I can't betray him. I owe him too much."
"I understand, and I wouldn't ask you otherwise… do any other archangels know?"
"No, that is why I stayed Cassiel's blade, because I know but she doesn't."
"I see."
Gabriel put down his empty cup and smiled.
"I suppose I should let you get some rest before tomorrow."
"I suppose… thank you for the talk."
"Of course, feel free to come here and talk any time."
I smiled, and I warped back home.
Sitting in front of my bed I looked up.
"Three more… only three more enemies… then we will finally be free… and I can finally deliver Kala's last message."
