(And there she goes.) I watched and the escape pod launched from the Energyne station.
Currently I was inside of the Yautja ship, possessing the body of a xenomorph that I had sent with them on this mission so I could tag along. At this very moment though, I was watching a holographic display of the escape pod being jettisoned out of a burning station that was barely holding itself together. Thankfully however, the Yautja ship was able to stabilize it somewhat via the use of some kind of track the beam that I didn't understand the mechanics of, all the while Anow'ka took control of what was left of the station's systems.
As for the pod, well, it was damaged as it was shot out of the station causing it to explode not long after, the person inside more than likely died instantly the moment the pod erupted into flames. Did I feel bad for not saving them? Yes, yes I did, however if I had gone out of my way to save them then the pathogen canisters they had on board wouldn't have been unleashed onto the surface below making it impossible for me to complete some of my objectives.
"What's up?" I asked when I noticed the somewhat tense atmosphere behind me.
"We have a slight issue." Enu muttered and Anow'ka spoke up a second later.
"There are still plenty of fires on board but I've managed to activate what's left of the onboard fire depressant systems that are still functioning, however it won't be long before something breaks and the whole station comes apart." She explained without looking away from the information displayed in front of her.
"How long exactly?" I asked with a sigh.
"I give it about half an hour or so before it starts breaking apart." She answered immediately, honestly I was surprised with how quickly they had all picked up English, and this is coming from someone who had learnt multiple languages over the years.
"We should get a move on then." Ootora said as he put his mask on.
"Indeed." Darook hummed while gesturing for most of us to follow him.
Dengwei still had something to say however. "Remember brother, the one known as "Larry" is mine to hunt."
"Do as you please brother."
I, Dengwei, Darook, Ootora and Enu all made our way on board after the ship attached a kind of boarding tube to the station's airlock. As for Anow'ka, well, she stayed behind to continue monitoring the station, after all we couldn't have the whole place breaking apart while we were inside.
Moving on though, the only problem we faced was the fact that the station didn't have artificial gravity like the Yautja ship did. It took me a quick minute to adapt to the sudden weightlessness afflicting my body, honestly it felt rather strange to say the very least but I would be lying if I said that I didn't take the opportunity to have some fun with it.
"Alright, we don't have time to waste so let's get right to the point. We'll split up and search for anything of value, also make sure to keep in contact just in case." Darook said taking charge, a fact I was fine with as he probably had more experience in this kind of thing then I did.
(Good thing this isn't a horror movie or that would most definitely be a death flag for someone.) I thought with an internal chuckle.
"I'll get what I can from what's left of the computers." Enu said as she walked off, her cloaking device activating as she disappeared out of sight.
"Very well then, let's get a move on."
Dengwei let out a kind of crackling, clicking sound that was apparently the Yautja's version of a laugh. "Let the hunt begin!"
The next few minutes passed quickly, I moved through the station looking for anything of interest, however if I was being honest with myself, I was just messing about. Thank god no one was there to see me fucking around like an idiot and acting like a fish in zero gravity, that would have definitely destroyed what little pride I actually had.
Anyway, I was currently investigating a room that seemed to have been where the scientist tested and worked on the pathogen, in fact I was very confident in my assumption, why you may be asking? Simple, because the only exit to this place had been torn open from the inside and the walls were covered in deep claw marks that were a perfect match for the other claw marks that I had found previously, said marks being on the various corpses that were littered around the station.
(Zero gravity may be fun but it's also disgusting as well.) I hissed as I made my way back outside while avoiding the balls of blood that flowed through the air.

Before I could process that little bit of information the sound of an explosion rang through the station, a second later the familiar gleeful battle cry of a certain idiot echoed through the hive mind. For a moment I was somewhat confused until I saw a massive, pissed off and half burnt rat charging down the hallway towards me with an ecstatic looking Yautja clinging onto its back like a mad man.
(Oh shit!) I yelped internally as I scrambled out of the way, barely able to press myself against the wall as they barrelled past me.
For a second I watch them disappear down the hallway before awkwardly speaking through the hive mind. <

_ _ _3rd Person Pov_ _ _
"I'll give it to you beast!" Dengwei laughed loudly as he stabbed the wrist blades attached to his right hand into the creature's back to stop it from throwing him off. "You've definitely got spirit, that's for sure!"
The creature, also known simply as Larry, thrashed around even more violently, slamming into walls and anything else in its way, all in a desperate attempt to get its attacker off of its back. This, of course, only excited the bloodthirsty hunter even more as he took aim with his plasma caster at the beast's back left leg, the first shot ended up missing but it caused the mutated rat in question to stumble slightly allowing the second shot to hit its mark head on.
With one of its legs blown off in a blue explosion of plasma the massive rat screeched in agony and rage before tripping and rolling several meters down a hallway. Dengwei was unfortunately thrown from its back and crashed through an open door into some kind of maintenance room, although he had little time to take in his surroundings considering the current situation.
In fact just a moment later his opponent was once again upon him, Larry had clawed its way into the room after him with a single minded drive to kill and devour the hunter. Dengwei immediately took action and began to move, trying to use the zero gravity to his advantage but he was a little too slow to take action. Driven by the adrenaline in its veins and the twisted instincts that had been warped by the mutagenic pathogen it chomped into the Yautja's forearm with surprising speed despite the fact that it was currently missing a leg.
"S'yuit-de!" Dengwei cursed in his native tongue as he was swung around like a ragdoll.
The mutant was slamming him into anything it could find, all the while it was biting harder and harder into his arm causing green bioluminescent blood to leak out from between its teeth as they dug deeper into his alien flesh. Thankfully the armour around his arm protected him from most of the sharp fangs within its maw, however if this kept up any longer his arm might actually end up getting ripped out of its socket simply because of the force that was being applied to him as he was flung around.
Despite the tough situation Dengwei found himself in he was having an absolute blast of a time, in fact if it was physically possible for his species he'd probably be grinning from ear to ear. This was the kind of situation he lived for, he was a hunter who loved to live on the edge, facing the jaws of death whenever possible. Anyway, despite the thrill of battle that he was feeling, he had no intention of losing his arm to a rat of all things, no matter how big said rat was, and so he took action.
With his free hand now clenched into a fist and his wrist blades fully extended he punched the giant mutant rat in the face as hard as he could, burying both his fist and the previously mentioned wrist blades into the creature's eye socket. The beast roared as pain shot through its form causing its body to stiffen in shock but the young Yautja didn't stop, no, in fact he wrapped his legs around its neck so that he wouldn't fall as he pushed his arm deeper into the creature's skull.
It thrashed as blood gushed out from the grievous wound, still clamped onto his arm it collapsed while convulsing violently as burning agony overwhelmed its animalistic mind. Thankfully, and almost mercifully, Larry died almost instantly a second later when the wrist blades pierced its brain causing its lifeless body to go limp like a puppet whose strings had been cut.
"You died with glory my prey..." Dengwei breathed, sounding exhausted.
For a moment he lay there letting the adrenaline rush he had been feeling die down as the pain in his somewhat mangled arm washed over him, all the while the oversized rat lay on his heaving chest. "Haven't had that much fun in quite some time now..." He chuckled to himself.
A moment later the familiar and stern voice of his brother echoed in his mind. <
