The water buckets, coal stoves, kitchens, surplus coal, water pipes, and other supplies were all carried to the left and right sides of Carriage No. 1, completely blocking the corridor.
Sealing the front and back doors is an art. Drilling holes on both sides of the carriage, steel cables as thick as a pinky finger are threaded through and then tightly wrapped around the protruding parts of the locomotive's front. Ten cables as a group, some secured onto the wheels of the locomotive. Once finished, the already narrow passage at the front door was sealed off by these taut steel cables.
There are relatively large gaps between the cables, but only a head could pass, not the body. This arrangement has many advantages as the zombies must deal with the bodies of their counterparts in a tight space. Whether they eat on the spot or drag them away to eat behind, it would cause blockages.
