The Scene opens with chaos in the sky. Zira and Niyora would eye at the incoming attack from Kairo, causing them to let out a bone-chilling screech as the battle between Angels and Shadow Hunters rages on.
Kairo stood in the middle of it all, staring into the sky. His eyes were sharp, serious. His mind wasn't just on the fight anymore.. It was on something much bigger.
Kairo (thinking): "Yami... I'm going to end this. No matter what it takes."
A new goal had taken shape in his heart, it was to kill Yami and bring peace back to their world.
Kairo's eyes closed for a bit, before reopening it, showing off his blue irises–posing dramatically against the light of the sky, wings dimming as he deformed from his Seraphim form.
Dakota (shouting): "Kairo!"
He was holding Wei tightly in his arms. Her eyes widened as she saw Kairo's transformation start to fade.
Wei (whispering): "Is that really... Kairo?"
Kairo turned to them slowly, his expression looking pretty serious.
Kairo: "Wei... Dakota... I finally understand what I have to do. Even if it costs me everything... or even my own life... This is my duty—not just as the Leader of the Shadow Hunters, but as your friend."
He gripped his executioner weapon. The air shifted around him as it morphed into a sleek katana. His aura began to flare intensely.
Kairo: "I have to protect you and the others... even if it kills me at the end."
He gave a thumbs up, sending his gaze towards Wei. As Wei received his gaze, she reached towards his hand, blushing faintly.
Wei: "Kairo... promise me..."
(her voice trembled.)
"...that you'll be safe."
Kairo gave a small smile, brushing his hand along her cheek
Kairo (softly): "Don't worry."
Their eyes locked for a brief moment. For a second, the war faded away. Dakota watched this exchange with a flat expression.
Dakota (grumbling): "Yeah, I'll just... stand here like some background character."
Kairo cleared his throat, before he decided to step back a bit.
Kairo: "You two should go help the others.. I'll deal with Yami.."
Wei nodded while looking pretty embarrassed. Dakota sighed and zipped away with her in his arms, heading towards the others at full speed.
Kairo turned away and began charging his mana. He had to push himself just enough to make it to Yami's hideout based on the information Evangeline gave him earlier.
Kairo (muttering to himself): "I'll destroy you, Yami. Project Kami ends with me and me alone..."
We would shift to where Yusei and the others were located.
The battlefield itself was already a mess. The ground cracked from the last explosion. Yusei came crashing down through a building, slamming into the street below, his body was bleeding and bruised all over with his shirt torn.
Yusei (barely conscious): "D-Damn it... I was so...close..."
He would cough up blood before he finally passed out. The others froze for a moment, shaken by how fast he went down.
The moment Yusei fell, the very battlefield itself shifted.
Evangeline spotted him from a distance and immediately dashed toward him, slicing through a couple of shadows in her way with swift, clean cuts. But before she could reach him, a familiar voice from her past called out to her from above.
???: "Still playing the ''hero'', Eva?"
She stopped in her tracks for a moment as she began to look up at the figure. Her eyes widened as she realized who it was.
Evangeline: "...No way."
A tall figure dropped from the sky, landing with a soft crunch against the cracked pavement. She had dark skin, a twisted smirk, and in her hand was a bloodied combat knife that was actively dripping fresh blood.
Nyoka: "It's been a while, huh?"
The air began to grow colder for a moment. A pit formed in Evangeline's stomach as memories came flooding back of laughter, of childhood, of the very betrayal that hurted her.
Evangeline would narrow her eyes for a moment, as she spoke: "You shouldn't have come back..."
Nyoka would smirk for a moment, as she responded to Evangeline: "You say that like I left..."
Without warning, Nyoka lunged at her, her hand already gripping her blade. Evangeline barely managed to block with her staff, the impact momentarily knocked her back some.
Elsewhere, Akihiro stared down Lucia for a moment. She was breathing hard, her mana flickering weakly around her.
Lucia (Enraged): "You're holding back..."
Akihiro (Serious): "No.. You're just not worth going full power..."
He began to raise his hand, ready to end the fight with one blow...but Lucia suddenly dodged as she then retaliated with a blast of light energy into his stomach. Akihiro grinned nervously before getting sent back through the abandoned buildings. The real fight had finally just begun.
Meanwhile, in the forest
Zahira, Catalina, Sumiko, Miyu and Evelyn were out of mana and running before they were cornered. Shadows circled them, their forms were warping and twitching unnaturally.
Evelyn (frustrated): "There's too many—!"
A massive shadow lunged towards them but just before it could land a hit, a fiery blast sent it flying back. Hana, Akari, Mai, Wei and Madison had finally arrived.
Hana: "Took us long enough...huh."
Akari: "Let's clean up.." Akari quickly drew her blade, facing the shadows.
The main shadow shrieked and split into ten copies of itself, each one darting toward a different target. The group braced for a full-on brawl.
We would shift over to a different part of the forest where we see Tsukasa and the others.
A group of angels had begun chanting, casting an enchantment spell that glowed with divine light. Then, with a burst of speed, they charged.
The four Shadow Hunters met them head-on. Swords were seen clashing, light and darkness colliding. In the middle of the chaos, Hikari felt a strange chill behind her.
A presence. Familiar...too familiar.
???: "Missed me?"
Before she could turn, a blow knocked her straight into the trees. She crashed through branches and landed hard.
Arisu: "HIKARI!!"
Koji and Tsukasa exchanged a quick glance, before nodding in agreement.
Tsukasa: "Go. We'll handle this."
Arisu would unleash her wings as she flew towards Hikari's landing spot. Koji and Tsukasa turned just in time to face someone that made their blood run cold...an old enemy, back from the shadows.
Elsewhere in the forest, Kenshiro was mowing through the mix of shadows and low-ranking angels. But then, he heard something in the distance. A low growl and footsteps approaching from all angles of the forest.
A voice snarled from the very darkness that emitted from the darkest parts of the forest.
???: "Human trash..."
Kenshiro spun around, but it was too late. A powerful punch struck him straight in the gut, launching him backward.
Out from the bushes stepped a muscular, snarling shapeshifter with glowing red eyes, Zarok. He was a Loyal servant of Yami. A pawn, but a dangerous one at that.
Zarok: (cocky) "You'll make for a great warmup, worm.."
He twisted his body unnaturally and lunged forward. Kenshiro tried to counter, but his speed and strength were unmatched as the sheer impact of the blow sent him flying again.
Zarok's movements were almost beast-like by how unpredictable he was. Kenshiro was outmatched..
Until..
Dakota (shouting): "Yo, freakshow!!"
Dakota's boot smashed into Zarok's jaw, sending him staggering. He landed beside Kenshiro in a stylish fashion, before cracking his knuckles.
Dakota (grinning): "Need a hand?"
Kenshiro began to smirk through the pain.
Kenshiro: "You took your sweet time to get here."
The two stood side by side, ready to turn the tables.
We would shift back to the other part of the forest, eyeing down the already knocked out Yusei.
Yusei groaned for a moment, waking up as his eyes flashing for a moment as he noticed someone in the air. The shadows nearby had been destroyed, but one figure remained above, as they were seen sipping the last of her tea.
She stood, silent. Her expression remained unreadable. Then, She dropped the cup as it cracked once it reached towards the ground, causing Yusei to stay alert for a moment.
Elysia. She remained Cold and Precise for a moment. Her sais gleamed elegantly in the light as she drew them from their holsters.
Yusei (cocky): "Wow. You look like you haven't smiled since birth."
She didn't respond. Instead, she dropped down from the sky, lunging forward towards Yusei. Yusei barely dodged, then struck at her stomach but she blocked it without flinching.
Their fight would last... for a long time.
Meanwhile, In the Castle far from the battlefield...
Yami stood up from his throne, arms raised upwards. He released the last of his angels and shadows down onto the mortal realm, their wings blotting out the sun.
The Chaos was only just the beginning.
