Monsters surround us from every direction, on the right wolves bare their teeth in anticipation of prey , on the left goblins oogle at the trespassers their gaze remain hostile , on the rear the horned rabits ever so finicky with their behaviour and in the front was a Chimera a creature of legends a two headed creature ones of a lion and the other of a goat.
"This is the short path Alice, Don't let up now." I say breaking the tensions for we're threading on thin ice.
"Yes Mr.Eric don't worry about me. I'm providing support. I'll be fine on my own."
"You've grown strong Alice." I say waving my hand as I leave

Time slows as I lunge forward toward the enemies to those other than myself it's as if I vanished, however to me it's nothing but a casual stroll
"Haaah!." I swing my sword at the wolves to my right as my concentration wanes so does my acceleration
"*whimpers*"
I cut three of them as they whimper to death , I proceed to cut another three
"Light arrows!."
Alice casts her ranged magic covering my tracks as I continue my way into the fray of enemies
Just how many arrows can she conjure
"A barrage of arrows, you're amazing Alice."
"N-no I'm not Mr.Eric!, compared to you and Mistress Aida I'm lacking. I held you behind in the last dungeon exploration I'll try not to hold you back now."
With determination in her eyes , her eyes gleam an ethereal light. She'd unknowingly tapped into her sagely powers making her light spells even more powerful.
She struck goblins, wolves , horned rabbits , and grazed the Chimera as it dodged her barrage of spells by a hair's breadth.
"Your self esteem needs some work Alice, I can't believe you triviliazed such power as holding me back."
I've been holding back myself I guess I could go a little hard.

The Chimera freezes in air as it's own time rewinds it back to its original position.
"I said I'm not holding back."
I was tempted as well as courting the idea of using Origin the power Eric parted with.
However now is not the time.
"This is it, you're the last one standing. Alice this is the last stretch we can make it so as long as we're together."
"I'll provide healing for when you need it Mr.Eric. I'll pull my weight this time."
"*sigh* we have alot to talk about when we leave the dungeon."
With this I begin sprinting towards the Chimera, it swipes with its claws producing a powerful gale.
To which I break a sigil producing a boulder blocking the gale , I leap forward and slash one of its heads off clean.
The Chimera's rear a snake attempts an attack as I'm in midair , just as it approached however
"Light shield!."
Alice casted a light based defensive spell
I land on my feet and perform another frontal assault
This time the Chimera is well prepared as it swipes in my direction.
I begin parrying , as it stands upright it strikes with its paws relentlessly in an effort to thwart me or to subdue.
"Your resilience is admirable albeit a nuisance. Time to end you."
"Alice, fire everything you have once I give you the signal."

With duplication I leave after images a frame frozen in time , with acceleration I move faster than their eye can perceive, and with skill share I borrow the skill of another self a swordsmaster from the East.
The Chimera goes on a frenzy striking after image after another after image
As my acceleration increases my tempo , I leave the frames behind
As the creature strikes air , I land precise strikes

I slash the creature clean off its torso shying off its head.
A Chimera's hide is tough even though it pales in comparison to a dragon.
Luckily I have a partner with me in case I failed
Now that the creature is exhausted I shout
"ALICE NOW!."
"Purification!."
A bright light emerges blinds all of its surroundings as it engulfs everything in its path.
Creature after creature vanish in its wake , the Chimera sensing danger disengaged from the fight attempting to find refuge. Albeit futile it clung to a desperate hope the flight didn't last long as light caught up its tail the first to disintegrate followed by its hind legs followed by its injured torso and then lastly its remaining head.
Sheathing my sword I look at the field now void of hostiles , the saintess magic is truly overpowered haha.
"Alice you were amazing."
"No Mr.Eric it was all your effort."
"Have you always been this way?, dismissive when you're praised overly conscience and always downplaying yourself."
Alice looks withdrew a distance before composing herself.
She'd inhale and exhale before finally dropping a revelation , a past I've long forgotten.
"I..I look up to you Mr. Eric ever since the forest incident from my childhood."
My meeting with the heroine she was the girl I rescued in the neutral forest all these years ago.
"Micah and I were in a forest similar to this. He wanted to explore some ruins in hopes of finding a lost treasure we gotten lost in the process and that's when monsters came into view. We thought we'd die right here and there, and then you came to our rescue a boy none older than I and Micah fended off those slimes."
"You're reading too much into me Alice."
"Truth be told I came to the academy in hopes of finding you and when I did I felt more inadequate, how could I be equals with someone who've saved a Duke's daughter, dismantled an organization and scored top in dungeon exploration. In some ways I'm also jealous of Aida."
"Jealous of Aida?."
"She got to know the you here before me, had I've gotten to know you back then... maybe she wouldn't.."
"She wouldn't?."
"Never mind me Mr. Eric i-its nothing." She blushes and continues ahead leaving me dumbfounded
"Wait for me Alice!!!."

"What are they doing?."
"It's obvious Master, they're flirting."
"Micah , stop sprouting nonsense."
"As you wish sir, though it would be benefitial if you follow Mr.Eric's lead and seek out potential romantic partners... aaarghqjaiaoa!."
A dark orb smashes straight at Micha's solar plexus leaving him gasping for ear.
"One more time, and I'd make you regret the day you're born."
"Ahahaha, as you wish young Master."
Leon and Micah watch the trials the former interest peaked when watching Eric , the latter taking interest in his childhood friend's progress.
"Both of them are amazing but dare I say, Alice surprised me to think my crybaby of a childhood friend grew up to become this strong.
Is this what proud fathers feel when their daughters outgrow their nest." Micah wipes an imaginary tear.
"Eric ,.that boys power is otherworldly just like my own I sense a dragon all over it. So the tale of Theodore and Chronos ring true." He looks intently at the holographic screen
"*sigh* Master you could at least spare some of your attention toward the other participants."
"Tch , you deal with them. As for myself I intend to test his might with these very hands." He smirks as his form turn ethereal and vanishes completely from view leaving an astounded servant behind
"A mirage, you never cease making my life harder Master." Micah sighs as he tunes in to his holographs
