At this moment, Wade looked extremely excited. He was drooling incessantly due to his fantasies, soaking the lower part of his mask. The disgusting drool had begun dripping onto the floor, catching the attention of the surrounding Avengers—it was hard not to notice!
"Is he sick or something?" Peter Parker asked, staring at the puddle forming at Wade's feet, feeling utterly speechless. Initially, Peter had been skeptical about Wade's abnormality, but now he was convinced—Wade was definitely not a normal person!
With this realization, Peter Parker decided he would never get too close to Wade, regardless of whether he became part of the Avengers. In fact, Peter had already resolved to keep as much distance from Wade as possible in the future.
"Is he really not one of the Avengers?" Harry Osborn, standing nearby, tugged lightly on Peter's arm, lowering his voice to inquire. Now that his family's hereditary disease had been completely cured and he had been involved in this extraordinary event, Harry Osborn was eager to join the Avengers. However, seeing Wade's behavior made him hesitant.
There's a saying that like attracts like. If someone as abnormal as Wade was part of the Avengers, did that mean the Avengers themselves were a bit off? This thought gave Harry Osborn pause.
"No, from what they just explained, he's a superpowered individual who has had some previous interactions with the Saiyans and happened to help the Avengers this time..." Peter Parker shook his head slowly. To him, regardless of whether Wade was a member of the Avengers or not, Wade would never be a real Avenger.
Especially considering Wade's unexplained interest in Peter Parker, which made Peter wary. He was concerned that besides being mentally unstable, Wade might have other unusual tendencies...
"If you keep this up, I'll have to dock your initial payment!" Tony Stark frowned at Wade and sternly reminded him.
Once Tony realized who Wade really was, he knew he had to be cautious. Although Wade's subsequent earnings from his risky activities had all been settled, Tony hadn't yet transferred the initial agreed-upon payment to Wade. This was a deliberate move to keep Wade in check.
"Uh! Sorry! I'll clean it up right away!" Hearing Tony Stark's threat to dock his pay, Wade snapped back to reality. Although he had already made a lot of money from Tony, who would ever complain about having too much money? Especially someone like Wade, who was extravagant and had no stable income.
Wade quickly grabbed some cleaning tools and scrubbed the floor spotless, faster than the cleaning robots. After cleaning up, he behaved himself and stood quietly in a corner, waiting for Robert to return and planning to give him a surprise.
Back in 1948, when the superheroes gathered, standing among them felt like a nobody. I swore then that they would acknowledge me...
Meanwhile, in the mirror dimension, Robert was unaware that Wade was waiting for him at the Avengers' base. After dealing with Naxi, Robert took a moment to rest and asked the Ancient One about Naxi's background.
After all, this encounter marked a formal conflict with Naxi. Although Robert didn't understand why Naxi was so enraged after being repeatedly attacked by him, it was clear that a grudge had been formed.
Robert wanted to understand Naxi's strength and whether Naxi could physically manifest on Earth. Alternatively, he was curious about Naxi's dimensional coordinates and whether it would be feasible for him to invade Naxi's dimension and settle the score once and for all.
"I can't determine the exact strength of this dimensional creature for now. I'll keep an eye on it. If it attempts to manifest again or shows signs of attacking directly, I'll let you know. However, that's almost impossible..." The Ancient One shook her head slowly and spoke softly.
"The avatar of this dimensional creature you destroyed was its way of marking our universe, specifically Earth. Without that beacon, it's nearly impossible to locate a single universe or dimension in the vast multiverse. It's not like Naxi is an omnipotent cosmic deity..."
"This dimensional creature is indeed quite powerful but far from being on the level of a dimensional demon god. In a subsidiary dimension of a single universe, such strength is formidable, much stronger than an average Hell Lord!"
"Dimensional demon gods? Are they more powerful than Hell Lords?" Robert's eyes lit up with curiosity.
"Of course. Even the weaker dimensional demon gods are above single universes. In some cases, parts of certain dimensions are avatars of these demon gods, making their power levels vary. It's hard to discern which form you're dealing with!" The Ancient One's expression grew slightly serious as she explained to Robert.
"At your current level, you don't need to worry about dimensional demon gods. You're still far from that league. These beings don't descend into our universe lightly, as they would exceed the universe's limits. Such powerful entities can't be contained within it!"
"Entities that the universe itself can't contain? Are they really that powerful?" Robert was surprised. In the Dragon Ball world, even beings like the Omni-King and the Grand Priest, who were above single universes, didn't seem to threaten the fabric of the universe just by being there. He wasn't sure if this was due to differences in power or the nature of the universes themselves.
"If they don't use their powers, powerful beings can manifest here. But if they do, the universe wouldn't withstand it..." The Ancient One clarified briefly before dissolving the mirror dimension, returning Robert to the normal Earth space.
"It seems I still have a long way to go. Such entities are to the universe what Clark is to Earth—they can exist within it but can't unleash their full strength..." Robert thought silently to himself, then nodded to the Ancient One before disappearing from the spot.
"Hehe, this battle has brought me quite a few benefits. With so much energy and essence, I could even forcibly establish a contract to steal power!" After Robert left, the Ancient One waved her hand, and the mirror dimension reappeared and began to shrink, condensing into her palm.
In the mirror dimension, strange energies and a small amount of essence were swirling—remnants of Naxi's power. As the battle dragged on, Naxi's power dissipated and merged into the mirror dimension.
As a notorious trickster among dimensions, the Ancient One wouldn't let such energy go to waste. She was already contemplating how to further siphon power from Naxi's main body using this energy and essence.
"Hmm, once I obscure Earth's coordinates and try to establish a contract with this creature, I'll gauge its strength and provide Robert with an answer..." The Ancient One collected the mirror dimension, her mind buzzing with thoughts.
"Stealing this creature's power will further weaken it, reducing the threat it poses to our universe and Earth. A win-win situation, wouldn't you say?"
Soon, the Ancient One's figure vanished, reappearing in the mysterious space of Kamar-Taj. There, Wanda hovered in mid-air, surrounded by a mystical aura. She opened her eyes and glanced at the Ancient One, saying, "Why does it feel like you're leaving more often now? Is a major event about to start in this universe?"
"It's not really a big event. Given the unique nature of our universe, the creatures arriving here are not yet dimensional demon gods. So, it's not something major..." The Ancient One shrugged and smiled.
"The environment here is just right. You help me hold the fort while I steal this creature's power. Once I have it, if anyone else comes to trouble us, I'll storm their dimension and suppress them. Hopefully, that will deter them from coming after us for a while!"
"Sigh, honestly, your actions are rather reckless. Be careful not to provoke someone too formidable, or they might set their sights on Earth..." Wanda sighed helplessly and gently cautioned the Ancient One.
"What's there to fear? Without great power, I would have been devoured by dimensional creatures and Hell Lords, along with Earth. And let's not forget, I'm just borrowing their power—they wouldn't really expect me to pay it back, would they?" The Ancient One scoffed, looking at Wanda with defiance.
"Besides, unlike you, I don't possess such formidable chaos magic. Compared to me, you're the one persistently milking a single dimensional demon god..."
"Fine, you've always had a strong will. It's not my place to treat you like a child..." Wanda shook her head in resignation. If it weren't for the Ancient One's current appearance, she wouldn't have gone to such lengths to advise her. However, even though this universe's Ancient One was a bit different, her power remained undiminished.
With a faint hum, the Ancient One nodded in satisfaction. In her hand, the energies and essence within the mirror dimension continued to swirl, completing some mysterious process.
In a distant dimension, Naxi's main body felt weakened. This time, his attempt to send an avatar to Robert's Earth had ended in a disastrous defeat, not only yielding no gains but also depleting his power. He had to slow down and focus on recovery.
But Naxi didn't expect Earth to keep targeting him even after he gave up on attacking it. Robert was probing Naxi's strength, contemplating whether he could finish him off, while the Ancient One was stealing Naxi's power.
"Huh?" As the Ancient One completed a series of complex spells, Naxi finally sensed the drain on his strength. Though minor compared to his overall power, it was significant given his current weakened state. This continual loss would slow his recovery.
"What's going on? I haven't deployed any avatars using my power. Why is my strength fading? Could it be that avatar I thought was gone? No, I cut off all connections with it—it shouldn't be affecting me!" Alarmed, Naxi quickly investigated the anomaly.
As a powerful being on the cusp of evolving into a dimensional demon god,
Naxi had numerous avatars across many universes. Yet, he found no issues with any of them.
"A contract?! Gaining my power through a contract? Which shameless Ancient One in which universe is behind this?" Soon, Naxi discovered the source of the problem and severed the contract, cursing furiously.
"It's her?! Damn it! No matter what form she takes, this one's always black-hearted! Ancient One, you'd better not cross my path. If you ever step beyond your single universe, it'll be time for my revenge. Every version of you is the same—too greedy and too deceitful!"
