Chapter 9 - The royal dungeon

Leaving the Royal estate was very easy. Razael just transformed into a bird with [Mimic] and flew out.

The Royal Capital stretched on for a few miles, surrounded by tall walls.

The walls didn't seem as luxurious as those of the Royal Estate, but they were very far away.

Razael had some plans, but first, he decided to level up a bit.

His plans required him to be strong. Stronger than he currently was.

Since Razael's current skills didn't give him any real combat ability, He decided to level up and gain strength in the form of stats.

*********

The surrounding of the Royal Dungeon was left bare.

No house was constructed close to it, and the nearest building was at least a few hundred meters away.

Anyone could see the reason why.

The Royal Dungeon was dangerous for regular people, and while the entire establishment had strong, powerful walls around it, residents of the city still had to keep their distance.

There was also the fact that refining the Minerals was a loud and inconvenient activity that would bother those living too close to the structures put in place.

There was an invisible energy dome that surrounded the entire compound, so Razael couldn't use his bird form to dive inside.

The reason for the barrier was to prevent too much noise and air pollution from spreading to the rest of the city.

Refining Minerals was inevitably going to end up with tons of pollution as a result of the processes involved.

To prevent the Capital from suffering any adverse effects, the barrier was established.

As a result, he decided to use the most reasonable option at his disposal.

{Sixth Imagination: Alternate dimension dominion}

This was basically an inventory or a subspace, and since it didn't affect the real world but a different dimension instead, it was within the rules of the skill.

But, Razael found some cool ways to break these rules with his alternate dimension.

One of them was just by interfering with the coordinates between the real world and his alternate dimension. By displacing the dimensions and switching between two dimensions, Razael created a technique with similar effects to teleportation.

~BUZZ!~

A static went through the space, Razael's body dismorphed, and disappeared, suddenly appearing on the other side of the barrier.

This whole process was way too quick for any biocarbon organism to realise the change, but certain waves were released through the space-time, which could be perceived by spiritual or celestial beings.

'Second phase complete. Now for the final stage...'

It didn't take Razael too long to spot the entrance to the Royal Dungeon from where he stood.

A troop of Miners was charging in with their bags behind them and masks on their faces.

They had uniform overalls that covered their bodies, so it was difficult to distinguish one from the other.

'Alright! Here goes!'

With a mischievous smile, Razael used [Mimic] to turn himself into a small bug.

He instantly attached himself to one of them and went in as easily as they did.

Before long, he was able to enter the Dungeon's gaping mouth.

'Hehehe! So far, so good!'

The area of mining was restricted to the first to fifth floors of the Dungeon.

Anything beyond that was considered 'Dangerous Territory' by the establishment.

No one in their right mind would dare venture into the 'Dangerous Territory', no matter the profit.

Besides, the Royal Palace had already issued an announcement that they would soon be sending a team to venture deeper into the Dungeon.

Once the team paved the way for them, they could finally harvest more Minerals.

At least, that was the hope.

*********

'Alright. I've found the entrance to the 6th Floor.'

Razael smiled as he noticed a tightly shut gate.

He was transformed into a fly, so no one noticed his presence near the gate.

Razael used [Mimic] to make himself extremely thin and small to squeeze through the gate.

But after a long while of trying, he gave up.

The entrance was like a grandiose basement door—with two gates tightly shut that it felt like they had merged together.

The gates had a dull golden color, with tiny glitters here and there. Try surmised that it must have once been a very pretty structure, but its luster had been ruined by dirt and grime.

Finally, Razael just used his Alternate dimension to slip through the space and cross the door.

'Space slip is pretty useful in these cases'

He fell downward, now crashing from the ceiling of the Sixth Floor.

"Ah shit, I forgot about this..."

Razael crashed hard on the ground, but he was uninjured.

The fall was no less than fifteen meters. But Razael's current stats were enough to handle something like this with almost no injuries.

This was also the reason why Razael wanted to level up and get better stats as soon as possible.

"SKRRRRR...!"

"KRRRIIIII!!!"

Razael was stopped dead in his tracks as he encountered two middle-sized critters almost as soon as he began his journey.

These beasts resembled wild jackals, but they were walking on two feet.

'Ah, kobold's huh? Rey also encountered them in the novel.'

The Kobolds were as tall as an average child—about a meter tall.

They had no weapons, but their sharp claws and drooling and gaping mouths showed they had more than enough tools to be predators.

Their grimy skins were covered in scales, and they stared hungrily at Razael with their bloodshot eyes.

"I didn't think I would run into any opposition so soon. But I guess here we are."

"GRRRRRRRRR....!!!"

Razael could see that they were cautious of him—perhaps due to instinct.

However, they also seemed to ignore that sensible part of themselves.

'Too hungry perhaps?' He mused.

Either way, even if they were to leave him alone, he never intended to let them go.

"Get here quickly, you will die for my first level up. Be proud."

~WHOOOSHH!~

The two Kobolds lunged at Razael with gaping jaws and outstretched hands.

They were clearly aiming to rip him to shreds in one fell swoop, and their merciless gazes did not betray their motive.

'Time to test this out'

{Eighth imagination: Perfected Battle AI}

Involuntarily, Razael's hand shot out—forming a fist mid-air, and precisely hit the lunging kobolds in their solar plexus.

The fists were too fast for even Razael himself to see it properly.

Both of the kobolds spat out blood, their eyes and ears dripping streams of blood, and they collapsed to the ground as a bloody mess.

Two fists were released in that short time, each precisely shattering their aortas. All the blood flowing through their bodies went out of control and ruptured their organs, resulting in their deaths.

"Ehh, it is powerful but..."

Razael looked at his clothes, now ruined by kobold blood.

"...I don't want to use this for now. Too much mess."

Razael transferred all the kobold blood and bodies into his alternate dimension, even from his clothes, effectively cleaning the blood off his clothes and hands.

'Sigh, let's level up more.'
