"So, don't be mad, but I kind of lost Kitty," I telepathically announced to the professor as I walked through a crowded hallway of leaving students.
"How did this occur?" He asked.
"Well, I was doing as you said. I watched over her and I tried to convince her to come to the school, by displaying my powers so she wouldn't feel alone, but I made the mistake of telling her I could read her mind and she freaked out and ran away," I relayed to him.
"This does pose a bit of a problem. Storm and I weren't able to convince her parents like we had hoped," he told me.
"Well, what should we do?" I asked him as I walked out of the school and over to the car that was pulling up.
"I believe we'll just have to wait her out," Charles said as I got into the car.
"Great! Oh, you probably already know this, but there is also another mutant here," I said as I laid down in the back seat and stared at the ceiling.
"Ah yes, Lance Alverce, Cerebro picked up on him as well, although I believe he will not accept our offer," Xavier said.
Well he's not wrong, at least at this point, but he still could've offered Lance the same invitation to the school like he's doing with Kitty, but I guess somethings don't change as easily.
"Well, in the meantime, I think I'm gonna take a nap. Wake me up when you find Kitty," I said as I closed my eyes and drifted off into slumber.
-------------------
The minute my eyes closed, I found myself floating in space. I could see all the stars, all the planets of our solar system, the moon, and the sun.
When I stared at the sun, a loud cry of a bird sounded out, and a giant figure started emerging from it in the form of a burning raptor.
"Well, this is unexpected. I thought we would be meeting way later in the future," I said to the raptor that came up before me.
"You're unlike the previous hosts I have chosen in the past. I do not see why my siblings have chosen you to take the place of my actual host," the Phoenix Force said in an almost scrutinizing tone.
"Is this really why you called me here, to judge me?" I asked the bird while crossing my arms.
"You have some gal to talk to a being like me in that way," it said.
"Could you please get over yourself, and just tell me why you brought me here, because I could be enjoying a really good nap right now," I said to the annoying bird that interrupted my nap.
If the firebird could make visible expressions, I'm pretty sure it would be sending me a scowl for the way I was talking to it. It probably would've outright attacked me, too, if I didn't think it would get bullied by Death and Eternity for messing with their entertainment.
"I'm just gonna warn you, in six months' time, a portion of my power will be coming to you. If you don't want to experience your powers going out of control because of it, I would use your little gamer system and strengthen your body and mind," the bird said indifferently, but for some reason I felt this wasn't what it actually wanted to tell me. "Now, begone."
-------------------------------------
"Jean, wake up. We've found Kitty," Charles voice ranged in my ear as I woke up.
"Alright, where is she?" I asked.
"She's in the building. Let's go," he said.
I got out of the car while Ororo helped get Charles out, too. We gathered to the front of the school, where Kitty's parents were.
"Where's our daughter?" Her dad asked us.
"She broke into the office," I told them.
"She's never done anything like this before," her mom panicked.
"Come on," I said, pulling the parents along to the school.
We made it into the office to see Kitty and Lance at the computer.
"Get away from my daughter!" Kitty's dad exclaimed.
"Far enough, old man," Lance said as he used his power to cause a mini earthquake that made everything in the office fall.
One of those things was a bookshelf that was gonna land on Kitty's dad, but I caught with my powers before it could.
"Lance! Stop!" Kitty yelled as she tried to push Lance, but he just knocked her back.
"Kitty, I pushed you to this, I know. I wanted to pretend that nothing was wrong. I'm not perfect. I'm learning, just like you are..." her dad admitted.
"Forget them, come on. I'm bringing this place down," Lance said, trying to persuade her but still used his power to cause the office to break down.
"You called your gift a curse and trust me, if you go with him then it truly will be," I said as I created a telekinetic shield around me and Kitty's parents to protect them from the falling debris.
Her parents also joined in to give her words of encouragement and to show that they still love her. This seemed to finally get to Kitty, and she phased her arm out of Lance's grip.
"Fine, if that's how it is, then you all can perish," Lance said as he used more of his power and started collapsing the whole school before he left.
This caused a bunch of bricks to fall on to Kitty, while I tried to use my power to hold up the school while also keeping up the shield around me and my two guests.
"NOOO!!!!! KITTY!!!!!!!!!" her parents shouted in horror.

A/n: The rest of this will be finished up in the next chapter, and there will be a little time skip since I'm not gonna do every X-Men Evolution episode.
Also, what do you think the Phoenix wanted to really talk about before it was treated so 'rudely'?
