Alan nodded his head, walked and stood infron to Gavin. Before he could even speak, Alan plunged his hand and pulled out his eyes, when Gavin opened his mouth to shout, he cut off his tongue and stuffed both his tongue and eyeball into his mouth. Then he cut off both his legs at his knees with a swift swipe of his black sword and turned back, walking towards the others.
This scene made Kristina vomit. Many soldiers looked sick but they had the repect clearly visible in their eyes towards Alan.
"He will not die for another 8 hours. If he is lucky enough, some wild beast might end his miserable life by eat him. If not, he will remember all those 200 girls before he die."
All the guards and the Captain saluted Alan with respect.
"Lets move forward, we had wasted more than an hour here." Alan smiled and waved his hand.
"Lady Kristina, do you need help getting down?"
"No.... No need. I will ride on your horse. You can rest inside the carriage, Alan." Kristina smiled and took the reigns of the horse.
Sighing, Alan looked at the Trouble Maker and smiled. "Take care of the lady and no running off without any reasons."
The horse neighed and tried to bite Alan, who smiled, dodging its teeth easily and swatted its rump hard and walked towards the carriage shaking his head.
The horse snorted and stood as still as a statue, even after getting slapped on it's rump as if to show that it was a dignified one and waited for the girl to instruct it.
They started to move forwards within a few min. Kristina rode the horse happily, which trotted forward without effort. She marveled at the strong muscular built of the horse. They took shelter near a stream that night. Even though they heard noises from wild beasts that night, they didn't encountered any. Again they started their travell early next morning.
At last, they exited the forest area and after riding for a few hours, entered a clearance in the evening before sunset. A city with a huge outer wall came into Alan's view, who had swapped his place with Kristina a few hours ago and smiled at the view.
"How is it? Did you like the view of the city?" Gregory asked Alan.
"It's beautiful. I think I will stay in this city for a few days."
They started to trot forward and reached the city gate at dusk. Recognising the carriage and the guards, the city guards let them in bowing to the carriage.
As soon as they entered, Alan saw a big After traveling for half an hours, Alan halted his walk and looked at Gregory. " Captain, I think this is where we part our ways. It was a pleasure meeting you all. Alan held his hand forward. The captain felt awkward and was thinking of a reason to make Alan follow them to the Castle, when Kristina spoke.
"Alan please come with us. You are our guest. Besides we didn't even thanked you for saving us and you also had instructed your friend to come there right?"
Alan thought for a few seconds before nodding his head in agreement and went along with them.
While walking, Alan observed that, even though the city was not as big as Winden city, it looked peaceful. People were carrying out their work meticulously and all the wastes, let it be organic or others were kept at the end of the lane and regularly these garbages were cleared.
The outer city itself was cleaner than most of the inner cities he had recently visited giving the air a feel of freshness.
When they approached the Inner Gate, Alan noticed that the guards placed were having strong aura. They were all mana users.
"Impressive..... I never thought, I would be seeing mana users guarding the city gates!!!"
"These are all almost B- Class retired adventurer's. The once who were injured during their mission or took retirement due to their age or due to their family matters. Duke Ravenheart respect those who had fought for the people and suffered. So he gives them the amount of gold they usually earned as an adventurers in a month. They will be in a contract for 2 years. After that, they can continue or else they will be releaved from their duties with a handsome reward."
Alan's first impression of this duke took a steep climb. The guards at the gate welcomed Gregory and other with wide smiles and bowed respectfully to the young lady.
However they stopped Alan. A middle aged man with a slight limp which was almost unnoticable to others spoke. "Captain Gregory, this young man has an aura of a warrior, we feel it's better to take his details before letting him in."
"Relax Quinton. He is a healer. We had requested him for treating my mother." Kristina said.
Quinton bowed his head and allowed Alan to move forward once he got the details from Kristian.
