Chapter 84 - 5) Charge per Web

[3rd Person]

"Shut up, bug! Today Man-Bull will become infamous for taking down an Avenger!" Yelled the man before charging at Peter.

Peter glanced at the hostages behind him and rushed at Man-Bull, sliding between his legs. Man-Bull stamped his feet in the ground to slow his momentum, leaving a trail of broken floor.

Man-Bull turned to face Peter and snarled before charging towards him again, each step creating a loud thud. Peter ran away instead, and before contact, using the wall, jumped off and flipped over Man-Bull, who crashed into the wall.

He quickly recovered and ripped out a marble bench from the ground, throwing it towards Peter like a spear. It flew past him, missing him, and instead landed on the ceiling. Peter quickly manoeuvred himself mid-air to barely avoid another marble bench that glided into an ATM, causing sparks to fly.

Peter landed and instantly glanced behind him, webbing up the marble bench from the ATM and kindly returned it back to the sender. The marble bench shattered across Man-Bull's face, and it seemed to do nothing to stop him as his charge continued with his face now covered in white dust.

Peter tried to sling himself out of the way, but mid-air, Man-Bull grabbed his foot and slammed him into the ground through a counter before throwing him into a pillar. As Peter fell onto the ground from the pillar with a small cloud of dust, Man-Bull laughed.

"They let anyone into the Avengers nowadays, ey?" He mocked, wiping away a little blood from his nose.

"Okay, that hurt. Let's not go through that again," groaned Peter, getting back to his feet.As Man-Bull started to stomp towards him, Peter webbed the marble bench from the ceiling and pulled it out, letting it fall onto Man-Bull. While Man-Bull's focus was on blocking the falling bench, Peter swung around the square of pillars, using his webs to form a tall makeshift boxing arena. Peter landed a few feet in front of Man-Bull, who stared him down.

"Come on, big guy, round 2!" Peter declared waving for Man-Bull to come at him.Man-Bull sneered and started chasing after Peter around the arena, trying to catch him, but Peter evaded him each time. Peter led him to the side of the arena, and using his makeshift web wall as a springboard, jumped over Man-Bull, and before he could turn around, Peter had a thin piece of string around his neck, which Peter used to pull him to the floor.

From the broken floor, Man-Bull grabbed some of it and launched it towards Peter, and he got to his feet. Peter easily dodged and webbed up a monitor from an intact counter and used it like a whip, lashing Man-Bull all over, and a piece of the monitor fell to the ground.

Man-Bull eventually watched the monitor crushing into a ball of sparks in his hands, "You little worm!" He growled.

"You're lucky. I don't charge for every web; otherwise, even with all these money points at the open vault, you'll be in debt," Peter joked.

Man-Bull stared at Peter, not making a move. Eventually he grinned, and he started to grab all the surrounding objects, throwing them at Peter, making him back up into the corner.Peter tried to swing away, but to his surprise, Man-Bull leaped through the air, his massive hand grabbing Peter's head and smashing it into the ground on landing.

Man-Bull let go and tried to punch Peter's head off, but Peter moved his head out of the way as a small crater with a fist inside lay next to him. Peter kicked Man-Bull's chin just enough to push him back so Peter could leap back to his feet.

The two now entered close combat, both throwing punches at each other. Peter landed three quick strikes across Man-Bull's chest, who then slammed Peter's head with a backhand, causing Peter to crash into a desk, his head ringing.

"You're fast, but all it takes is one clean punch!" Exclaimed Man-Bull with a large grin.

Peter stood up and cracked his neck before cracking his fingers. "One punch? Let me know when you're ready to land it!" Replied Peter.

"Oh, I'm ready!" replied Man-Bull.

"We'll see about that!" Replied Peter, grabbing the fire extinguisher next to him and launching it at Man-Bull, his metal horns piercing it, a cloud of chemicals spraying all around him. Blinding him.

Peter webbed Man-Bull's shoulders and catapulted himself feet first into Man-Bull's face, crashing him into the group with drops of blood from his broken nose. Before landing on the ground, Peter pulled down a chandelier, and as Man-Bull tried to get back to his feet, he crashed back down, a chandelier atop him and cuts all over from the broken glass.

"You!" Yelled Man-Bull, grabbing the chandelier to push it away, but soaring above him was Peter, sending a wave of webs towards him, trapping him to the ground with a chandelier on his chest and face.Peter hunched over his hands on his knees.

"You...should...really try decaf," he joked while panting.

A few moments later, a squad of heavily armed police entered the building to see a group of webbed robbers and a giant stuck to the ground. In the distance was Peter sitting on the vault door with an open pack of crisps.

"I accept payment in pizza!" Yelled Peter.

[Peter]

After I helped the police clean everything up and received thanks from them and the hostages, I triumphantly walked out. I was overjoyed; after all, it's not often I get to stop a bank heist and a big bad guy in one day.Over by the swarm of police cars and vans was a line of officers stopping reporters from swarming in; I could see a familiar face jumping and waving at me.

"Spider-Man, care for an interview?" She yelled.

I got close, and I could tell it was Whitney Chang, a news reporter who I've become very familiar with over the last few months. In return for helping my popularity and my image, I give her exclusive information, coverage, interviews, and so on. It's worked out pretty well for the both of us.

She's very willing to put herself out there in danger to get a story, and fans seem to like how she prefers the truth over ratings, though I think she's just interested in getting famous herself.

"If it isn't my favourite reporter," I replied, signalling to the officers she could pass through.

"I have questions related to the incident if you don't mind," she replied, holding a microphone into my face and recording me with a camera while mouthing, 'thank you'.
