Zack noticed the tension in the air, he saw the way Harley was looking at Marinetta, and he noticed he saw her as a tight stranger, "Harley, Marinetta is a friend," he said gently, "a very close one."
He said trying to make Harley understand
Harley's confused expression softened slightly, but he still looked puzzled. " Okay but I can't remember her and the other girl's face," Harley said pointing at Maranda
"But wait Why is everyone looking at me like this?" he asked.
"Is anything the matter? my the long look from everyone" Harley said looking at everyone's faces Confused again
' You didn't remember anything ' Liam said looking at him in the eyes
" About what? I didn't get you" he said and continue
'I remember being in a club with Lola yesterday, and now I wake up here. All of you are looking at me asking questions"
Zack exchanged a worried glance with Maranda and the others then moved closer to Harley "OK let me explain a little to you, You were injured in a battle with the Laufey pack days ago," Zack explained. "You don't remember anything about that either?"
Harley shook his head. "No, I don't. It's all blank. In a battle Why"
Liam stepped forward, his voice tentative. "Do you remember who Lola is?"
Harley nodded. " Yes I do, She's my mate."
Everyone was stunned by his response. Marinetta's face fell, her heart breaking at the revelation. Zack tried to maintain his composure when he noticed Harley was not in his right mind yet.
"It's okay, Harley. You need to rest and give it time. Things will start making sense soon, you will get things right as time goes on."
Harley looked around, confused but compliant. " Ok I get it, but I'm hungry," he said. "I want to eat."
Zack nodded. "Let me get you some food. Just rest for now."
"No, let me join you at the dine, let go together"
As they all left the room, Marinetta stayed behind. She was so worried, unable to hold back her tears any longer. "He doesn't remember me, Maranda, this my fault" she whispered, her voice trembling. "He thinks Lola is his mate."
Maranda put a comforting arm around her. "Marinette calm down, everything will be alright, this might be the effect of the wolfsbane and the ancient spells," she explained softly. "His mind is confused and clouded. Give it some time, Marietta. His memories will return."
Marinetta wiped her tears, trying to hold on to Maranda's words. "But what if they don't? What if he never remembers me?"
Maranda gave her a reassuring squeeze. "Have faith. The bond you share with Harley is strong. It will help guide him back to you. You should be happy he woke up"
With those words, Marietta took a deep breath, trying to gather strength. The road ahead was uncertain, but she was determined to help Harley recover his memories and their bond. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was willing to fight for their love.
At the Laufey pack, Thalia had been hospitalized for days, struggling to regain her strength. The doctor's prognosis was grim. "The red liquid she consumed caused significant damage to her body," he explained to Silas and Lola. "It contained wolfsbane and other chemicals that are transforming her into a human. The process is irreversible and incredibly dangerous. Even if she continues to take it, there's no guarantee she'll survive."
Silas was stunned. "How could this happen?" he muttered, more to himself than anyone else. "Who gave her the red liquid?"
Thalia, weakened and barely conscious, couldn't provide any answers. Her silence added to the frustration and fear gnawing at Silas. He left the hospital, determination set on his face as he sought answers. His first stop was home, hoping to find Chris and get some clarity.
"Chris?" Silas called out, his voice echoing through the empty halls. He searched every room, but there was no sign of him. Silas felt a pang of dread. How did his mother get her hands on the red liquid? Where was Chris?
Unable to find Chris, Silas returned to Thalia's side at the hospital. He watched her struggle to breathe, her transformation painfully apparent. The once formidable alpha now looked fragile, her wolf essence fading.
Lola approached him, her expression a mix of concern and determination. "We need to find out where that red liquid came from and how it got into Thalia's hands," she said.
Silas nodded, his mind racing. "I'll question the pack. Someone must know something."
As Silas and Lola left the hospital, they began their investigation, speaking to every member of their pack. The tension was palpable; everyone sensed the gravity of the situation.
The trail led them to a hidden stash of red liquid in an abandoned building on their territory. It was clear someone had been supplying Thalia with the dangerous substance, but the identity of the culprit remained elusive.
Silas felt a deep sense of betrayal and confusion. Who within their pack could be responsible for this? And why? He vowed to uncover the truth and find a way to save his mother, even if it meant confronting his pack members. The stakes were higher than ever, and the future of the Laufey pack hung in the balance.
One evening, as Silas left the hospital, Lola stayed by Thalia's bedside, her thoughts a whirlwind of worry and unanswered questions. The room was quiet, save for the steady beeping of the medical equipment.
Suddenly, the door creaked open. Lola turned to see Christopher entering the room, and to her utter shock, Tina was by his side. Her eyes widened in disbelief. "Tina? How are you alive? And where have you been, Chris?"
Christopher's laugh echoed coldly in the sterile room. He walked closer to Thalia, who lay weak and defenseless. "It's time to pay for your sins, Thalia," he said, his voice dripping with malice.
Lola stood, her mind racing to understand. "Chris, what are you talking about? And Tina, how is this possible?"
Tina's expression was a mix of bitterness and determination. "Thalia and you people thought you have used me and I am dead, but she underestimated my will to survive," she said, her voice strong despite her apparent frailty. "Chris found me and helped me recover. We've been planning our return ever since."
