At the hotel, Maki and Momo and clone Izuku sat at a large table covered in papers, laptops, and diagrams. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on them, but they were focused.
They had already gone through David's plans twice, dissecting each step, and were now ready to counter every measure he had prepared.
Maki tapped her pen against her notebook. "Okay, first things first: the fail-safes. David's planning to delete some of the experimental data. It's probably not the most important data, but it's still a risk."
Momo nodded, her fingers flying over her laptop's keyboard as she pulled up their internal network. "We can intercept the deletion commands before they reach the servers. I'm setting up a signal hijack now, so when he initiates the deletion, we'll reroute the data to a secure server we control."
Maki tilted her head. "But what if he tries something physical? Like manually destroying hard drives?"
Momo's brow furrowed. "I hadn't thought of that."
Izuku's voice came through their earpieces. "Good point, Maki. Momo, can you use your quirk to create some hard drives and set up a secondary server in a separate location? Something hidden, maybe underground, so if they physically destroy one area, we've still got the data?"
Momo's face brightened. "I can do that! I'll activate a backup server, and with a decoy server in our hotel room, they'll go after the wrong one."
Maki grinned, writing down the updated plan. "Alright, so we've got the data covered. Now, the drones. David's using stealth drones to transport biological specimens and quirk-enhancing drugs off the island. How do we stop those?"
Momo bit her lip. "We'll need to disable the drones' navigation systems. If we can interfere with their guidance algorithms, we can ground them before they take off. As for locating them, we can just use some type of anti missile device which is programmed to locate drones."
Izuku chimed in. "We can also create a signal jammer. Something strong enough to cut the drones' control links?"
Momo nodded, her mind already working. "Yes, I'll design a broad-spectrum jammer, something powerful enough to disrupt their communication signals with the main hub. Maki, do you have any explosives left in your gear?"
Maki smirked. "Of course. You're thinking of taking out the drones once they're down?"
Momo smiled back. "Exactly. I'll focus on the jammer, and you can plant charges on the grounded drones. If anything tries to self-destruct, we'll trigger a controlled explosion and contain the damage."
Maki nodded, scribbling down notes. "Got it. We'll make sure no drone leaves the island."
Next, they moved on to the EMPs. Momo frowned, looking at the schematic on her screen. "David's perimeter is rigged with electromagnetic pulses designed to knock out any electronics within miles. If we get too close, all our systems will go dark."
Maki crossed her arms. "Can we shield our tech?"
Izuku's voice cut through the silence. "You could, but EMP shielding won't last forever. It's better to disable the emitters. How many are there, Momo?"
Momo scanned through the island's layout. "Looks like four primary emitters, one on each corner of the island. If we take them out before we move in, we'll be safe."
Izuku thought for a moment. "Can we send in a drone of our own? One equipped with EMP shielding to locate and disable those emitters remotely?"
Momo smiled. "Yes, I've got a few portable drones blueprints we can use. I'll outfit them with EMP shielding, and they'll target each emitter individually. We'll send them out at different intervals, so David won't realize what's happening until it's too late."
Maki grinned. "Alright, that takes care of the EMPs. Now, what about his fallback plan? The destruction of the primary lab?"
Momo frowned. "He's rigged it with explosives. If we get too close, he'll detonate the building and destroy everything inside. We need to prevent that."
Izuku's voice came through, calm and clear. "Maki, you're going to need to disarm those explosives. It's risky, but you're the best person for the job."
Maki nodded firmly. "I'm on it. I'll get close enough to deactivate the charges manually, but I'll need precise intel on where they're placed."
Momo quickly pulled up the blueprints of the lab. "Here. Based on the structure, the explosives are likely hidden in the support beams and ventilation systems. I'll mark the most probable locations for you, and you can move in once we've cleared the perimeter."
Maki jotted down the locations. "Once I'm inside, I'll disarm them one by one. If anything looks suspicious, I'll call for backup."
Momo tapped her chin thoughtfully. "We should also create a decoy explosion. Something small but controlled, to make David think the lab has been destroyed without causing any real damage. That way, he won't trigger the backup explosives."
Maki smiled. "Leave that to me. I'll set up some low-yield charges. It'll look like a massive explosion, but the actual damage will be minimal."
Izuku spoke up again. "Great thinking. Now, the last major threat: the nerve agent. If David releases it, it'll flood the lab and kill anyone inside. Can we neutralize the gas?"
Momo's eyes narrowed. "If we can gain control of the ventilation systems before David does, we can reroute the gas. We'll trap it in a sealed chamber where it can't harm anyone."
Izuku added, "We'll also need protective gear, just in case. Momo, can you design suits that can withstand the gas?"
Momo nodded. "I'll get started on that right away. It'll be tight, but I can have something ready by the time we move in."
Maki leaned back, looking over the list of countermeasures they had prepared. "We've got everything covered. But… I still can't shake the feeling that Melissa's going to be destroyed when she finds out about her dad."
Momo's expression softened. "I know. It's going to be hard for her. But she deserves to know the truth."
Izuku's voice was quiet but firm. "Don't think too much about it right now, it will hinder our plan. We'll deal with that when the time comes. Right now, we need to make sure David's plans don't succeed.
He's crossed too many lines, and we can't let his crimes go unpunished. Not even for Melissa's sake, and don't get too attached to her, if she chooses the wrong side, even she'll be dying."
Maki nodded, her eyes hardening. "Alright. I understand. Let's make sure everything goes according to plan."
Momo stood, determined in her eyes. "I'll start programming the signal jammer and prepping the drones. Maki, you can get your gear ready for disarming the explosives. Let's move fast."
Izuku's voice came through one last time, steady and reassuring. "Good work, both of you. We're going to stop him. No matter what."
As Momo and Maki were wrapping up their countermeasures, Maki furrowed her brow, still feeling a sense of unease. She glanced at Momo, who was organizing her notes, and at clone Izuku who's helping her.
"We've accounted for all of David's tricks," Maki began, her voice heavy with tension, "But what if All For One is backing him? We know David's working with some powerful people.
It wouldn't be far-fetched if All For One's forces were involved. We need to be ready for an army. Afterall it seems this contract was All For One's doing." Said Maki.
Momo's fingers paused over her keyboard, her expression hardening. "You're right, Maki. All For One has access to vast resources: quirk users, mercenaries, and advanced technology and lots of connections in the underworld. If he sends reinforcements, we're going to face more than just David's team."
Izuku's voice came through once more, calm but laced with concern. "All For One's soldiers and allies aren't your typical thugs. Many of them have quirks that can throw off even the best-laid plans.
We can't take this lightly given that potato head is at least 200 years old, he might have many allies and hidden weapons I'm not aware of. Let's go over what we know he might throw at us and see how we can prepare."
Maki nodded, pulling a fresh sheet of paper from the pile. "Let's start with the obvious: brute force. If All For One sends an army of quirk-enhanced soldiers, we're going to be outnumbered."
Momo's face darkened in thought. "We need a way to thin their numbers before they can reach us. What if we set up a perimeter of traps? We can use the island's terrain against them—hidden mines, electromagnetic snares, and incapacitating devices."
Izuku chimed in, "That'll buy us time, but we also need direct counters for quirk users. If they have long-range attacks or regeneration, we need to neutralize them quickly. Momo, can you come up with some specialized ammunition that disrupts quirks?"
Momo's eyes brightened with an idea. "I can create tranquilizer darts with a specialized compound that dampens quirk abilities for a limited time. It won't stop them forever, but it'll give us the edge we need to disable the strongest ones."
Maki added, "What about EMPs? We could rig some EMP charges that temporarily disrupt tech-based quirks and devices. We'll make sure David's soldiers don't get any technological advantage."
Izuku's voice came through, supportive. "Good thinking, both of you. The EMP charges will also short-circuit any advanced robotics All For One might send."
Momo leaned forward, her mind racing. "And if All For One sends someone like nomu, with multiple quirks or with a high-level quirk, like enhanced strength or speed, we'll need defensive measures.
I'll create barriers that can withstand high-impact attacks, and Maki, you can set up counter-strike points where we can lure them in and neutralize them."
Maki smirked. "Perfect. I'll set up explosive decoys, too. We can lure the strongest into confined spaces and collapse the area around them. It'll trap them long enough for us to either neutralize or escape."
Momo glanced at her notes again. "But what about quirk negation? We know All For One has access to quirks that can cancel ours. If he sends someone with that ability…"
Izuku interrupted, his voice firm. "We'll need to fight smart, not just hard. If they have quirk negation, we'll focus on non-quirk tactics. Maki's combat skills don't rely solely on her quirk, and Momo, you can create physical tools and weapons.
Ohh and make sure to make as many sounds and flash bangs, if we disrupt their senses it would be more than enough to take care of them."
Maki nodded grimly. "No problem. I'll make sure I'm stocked with enough explosives and weapons that don't need quirks to be effective."
Momo agreed, already making adjustments to her creation plans. "I'll create a reserve of standard weaponry, just in case. We'll need to be adaptable."
There was a brief silence as they considered the daunting possibility of All For One's involvement. Then Maki spoke again, her voice hard. "And what about teleportation? If he sends someone like Kurogiri, they'll be able to warp in reinforcements whenever they want."
Momo tapped her chin. "We can't counter teleportation easily, but we can make it harder for them to gain ground. If we spread out and create multiple choke points and landmines, we can delay them. If Kurogiri tries to bring in reinforcements, they'll be trapped in strategic kill zones."
Izuku's voice was steady. "Good idea. Force them into bottlenecks, and they won't be able to use teleportation as efficiently. I have also been working on neutralizing for a while, and I have prepared a special collar for that dog of All For One.
And if we can capture or neutralize Kurogiri quickly, we'll cut off their ability to bring in reinforcements."
Maki grinned. "If I spot him, I'll make sure he's out of the fight in seconds."
Momo's expression softened slightly. "But we need to be careful. All For One's forces aren't just powerful—they're ruthless. They'll exploit any weakness they find. We need to be ready for anything."
Izuku's voice came through once more, filled with confidence. "Don't worry, you're ready. Both of you. We've prepared for every possible scenario.
David and All For One won't stand a chance. Stick to the plan, stay sharp, and adapt as needed, and don't I'm our biggest trump card while theirs biggest wild card, they won't be able to do anything."
Maki nodded, determination hardening her features. "We'll handle whatever they throw at us."
Momo closed her laptop and stood. "Let's move out. We've got a long night ahead, and we need to be one step ahead of David and any army All For One might send."
