Perhaps because of Su Xiaowan's situation, everyone focused all of their attention on her, inadvertently forgetting about Grandpa's issues. Everyone was both worried and hopeful that she would recover quickly, lest one fell and now another might fall.
At home, it was likely that two more would suffer; Uncle's health had always been poor, and the blow to Grandpa was enough. The thought of Su Xiaowan's addition to the predicament terrified Lin Meiting even more.
Fortunately, Su Xiaowan had been strong enough to pull through, and everybody breathed a huge sigh of relief. However, the good times were short-lived as Su Xiaowan began to relapse, leaving everyone feeling heart-wrenched and helpless.
She had several such relapses, with the earlier ones being more intense and later ones growing weaker, draining Su Xiaowan's strength bit by bit.
