Chapter 143: Rewards
---Uzumaki Mito POV---
In the original timeline, she had Kurama sealed inside her body and one of Kurama's terrifying abilities was his ability to sense malicious intent directed from another being. That's why she trusted Sarutobi Hiruzen and his gang when they reported about Tobirama last order for him to become Hokage, she could sense that Tobirama's student was telling the truth and there is some of sadness and zero malicious when they told her about it.
It was only when Uzushiogakure was destroyed that she detected malicious intent from the Hokage, but by then it was too late because Uzushiogakure had already been destroyed and she was already too old to prevent anything. In this timeline, however, Setsuna had a significant impact on her, causing her to start thinking differently.
At first, she supported Hiruzen due to the lack of leadership in Konoha. The village had just finished the war and they needed someone to lead or risk a civil war. But she regretted it so much that she feel it is better to choose someone else or force Setsuna to become third Hokage.
Sarutobi Hiruzen is a man with two faces. In front of the villagers, he presents himself as a just, kind, and benevolent leader. Unlike Hashirama, who smiled at his enemies due to his genuinely good-natured heart, Hiruzen is a hypocrite. Reports sent to Uzumaki Mito revealed that most of the village's resources were being funneled to the Sarutobi, Mitokado, Utatane, and Shimura clans.
Their members were easily assigned to easier jobs with slightly higher pay, and they did it secretly so that other clans wouldn't notice. However, it was impossible to hide it from Uzumaki Mito, who held a higher status in Konoha.
The next report came from her father, Uzumaki Ashina who warning her to keep records of Senju clan members who had removed their surname and become civilians hidden from the Hokage. If the list were leaked, Setsuna suspected that these Senju would be given highly dangerous missions, or their missions might be leaked to enemies.
After hearing this, she took extra precautions, ensuring the Senju lived close to one another so they could be protected. She also selected someone with the potential to become the next clan leader.
Kazuto, an elite jonin from the Senju clan, was given the temporary position of clan leader. Now reinstated as Senju Kazuto, he was pleased with Uzumaki Mito's decision. However, when Mito revealed the reality of Konoha to him, he frowned but ultimately complied with her instructions.
Meanwhile, Mito's decision to take Katori as her disciple is because she saw the obvious dislike radiated from Katori to the Hokage. Katori are also the only uchiha members who become Tobirama disciple, she could act as a bridge to connect the Uchiha and Senju clans, helping them grow closer.
---Rewards Time---
"Setsuna-dono," said the System.
"Why are you calling me with additional 'dono' now?" asked Setsuna, confused.
"It's because you've done a great job having more children, so I just greeted you with respect," replied the System.
Hearing this, Setsuna could only shake his head, annoyed. He no longer wanted to argue or fight with the System.
"Just give me my rewards. I got two more daughters," smiled Setsuna.
"Host, now you're showing your true self," teased the System. "Here are your rewards."
"Congratulations! You've won
1st reward: Tomoe Rinnegan (Can turn off)
2nd reward: Mori Mori no Mi Devil Fruit."
"Are you serious?" Setsuna half-shouted.
When he heard that he won the Tomoe Rinnegan, he couldn't contain his excitement.
"Yes, your reward is the same Tomoe Rinnegan that Sasuke has," replied the System.
"Wait a minute, if I forfeit my next reward, can I get 5,000 Tomoe Rinnegan?" asked Setsuna.
"No, host. A new patch has been updated, and now rewards cannot be sacrificed or forfeited like before," said the System.
"What? Does that mean I can clone my reward?" asked Setsuna.
"Yes, host. The bug from last time has been fixed, and now, if you want to clone your reward, you'll have to wait for a duplicate reward," explained the System.
"If I had duplicated the Tomoe Rinnegan to 5,000 last time, could I have prepared them for other Uchiha?" asked Setsuna.
"Correct, host. The Tomoe Rinnegan is stronger than the normal Rinnegan, allowing you to use Mangekyou abilities and gain time-swap ninjutsu," said the System.
"It's a pity I can't duplicate the rewards anymore, but it's okay. I finally gained the Rinnegan, and there's no need to implant Hashirama's face on my body," replied Setsuna.
---Practicing Rinnegan---
Setsuna Kamui'd himself to a small, desolate island—nothing but barren land, with no signs of life, not even a plant in sight.
Slowly, he activated his Rinnegan. His once red eyes turned into purple Rinnegan with tomoe.
He could feel it—his chakra had tripled in strength. Activating his Susanoo, its size grew to a towering 1,000 meters tall.
"So this is the strongest Susanoo," muttered Setsuna.
"For your information, Host, the higher the chakra reserves, the larger the Susanoo will materialize," said the System.
Setsuna smiled, recalling his first fourth-form Susanoo when he was just 10 years old. It was much smaller, easily crushed by Madara. But now, his Susanoo was more than three times larger than Madara's.
All thanks to the Rinnegan—the power of the eyes had taken his chakra reserves to a whole new level.
Looking up at the sky, he decided to try his copied jutsu—Kirin. It was easy to summon Kirin during monsoon season, but the sky was clear. Still, he wanted to replicate what Sasuke had done.
Channeling lightning chakra into his right hand, he used his Rinnegan to power up and direct the chakra into the sky.
In just seconds, the clear blue sky turned dark. Setsuna guided the electricity, forming the Kirin lightning.
Boom!
A massive explosion shook the island, turning it black.
Seeing the result, Setsuna just smiled.
"Kirin is really a terrifying Ninjutsu," said Setsuna.
"Your Kirin is at least twice as powerful compared to the one without Rinnegan," replied the System.
Setsuna deactivated his Tomoe Rinnegan and immediately felt the difference. The chakra consumption of the Rinnegan was twice that of the Mangekyou Sharingan. Fortunately, his chakra reserves had grown significantly.
