Chapter 26 - New leader

My days with Lee were really painful. Training with a training maniac...maniac that would not even let you rest...ah! How I miss the days where he was not in my life.

But jokes aside, Training with Lee even though painful still had been really helpful in making me physically stronger. And my agility has also improved greatly. Not only that, as we started sparing against each other, I was able to improve in that aspect as well. Lee would give me pointers in mid combat about where I was making a mistake and what I could have done better which made it so that I was able to improve at an astonishing rate but even after all these improvements I would still always lose to Lee in a combat match even though he would not be using any techniques from the eight gates.

The physical training with Lee would continue until almost twelve in the noon after which I would get Lee off my back. Then I would rest for almost one hour( or sometimes two) and then continue with ninjutsu training which would consist of training my Chakra control or practicing jutsu or training one type of nature transformation. I would do that until I got my Chakra drained which usually only takes about one or two hours depending on the type of training I am doing. If I am training in Chakra control, it would take me more then two hours to finish and if I am training jutsu, it would be less then one hour.

Other then that, I have also decided to give my Chakra to Gaya in the morning to convert into points. In the early morning, before I start any of my trainings, I would ask Gaya to absorb my Chakra and give me some points. I had decided to do this because I was able to realize that in morning, I would really have no use of Chakra and getting a few points in return would come in handy sooner or later. Not to mention draining my Chakra would be an easy way to increase my max Chakra.

Now, after all the ninjutsu training, my Chakra control has increased a bit as now I am able to stick 5 leaves on my forehead when before I was only able to do one or two. I have also practiced some of my jutsus and decreased the time it takes for me to cast them. This would be really good in the long run since my casting speed is really slow and I had to increase it sooner or later. After all, since I have really no practical experience in using hand signs, any ninja that I would face would be much faster in casting jutsu which is really quite a disadvantage.

As for nature transformation training...Currently, I have completely stopped training lightning nature transformation and am solely focusing on fire nature one because I had mastered the first step in Lightning nature transformation training even before I went on the delivery mission. but my fire nature transformation is a bit behind it since I have low telent in it compared to lightning nature. so I want to focus on fire nature and I also want to completely separate me training these different element types, I want to train all the elements like Fire, Lightning or Wind, separately. If I am focusing on fire nature transformation then for now I would not train lightning nature as that would give me more time to train other things.

After the ninjutsu part of the training, I would do shurikenjutsu training and don't get me started why I am training shurikenjutsu. My aim with kunai and shurikens are worse then a pig. I don't know how to properly block or dodge a kunai and it's just a hard skill to master overall (only for me, since apparently, there are six years old masters of this). So I gave quite a few hours daily into mastering that as well.

And that's about all the things I trained throughout the next week. There weren't anything too much happenings this entire week so I had the entire week devoted to training. I didn't want to train this much but, I had to do what I had to.

And this morning, I thought that my day would continue like how it did this entire week but a knock on the door proved me wrong. I opened the door to see Mio and Seiten standing there. Mio was standing in the front while Seiten was leaning on the wall behind her.

"What's up?" I asked as I smiled at them only to receive a huff in return.

"Hmgh! Karan! Come with us!" Mio said as she folded her hands against her chest.

I looked at Seiten and found him give me a shrug. It looks like Seiten also didn't know why Mio is so worked up. Thinking that it might not be good idea to refuse or even make her wait, I swiftly got out of the house and closed the door behind me.

"Where to?" I asked as I followed behind Mio with Seiten.

"To our usual meeting place!" Mio replied.

Our usual meeting place was a place where our team would meet up and decide what to do or what mission to take. And when I say team decide, it was just sensei deciding on his own and just asking us if we had a problem with that. Now that I think about it, since sensei is not there anymore, what exactly are we going to do? We mostly always relied on sensei but now that he is not here, how is everything gonna go?

While I was thinking about all that, we reached that 'meeting place' of ours. It was just a small field of grassland somewhere in konoha. It was a place where usually, kids in the neighborhood would come to play in. And this was the place sensei had named as our meeting place. AND it was OFFICIAL!!!

Mio walked and stood in the middle of this grass field as she looked at both of us.

"So, I called you both here to decide what we are going to do now as a team." Mio spoke like her periods had just finished. I know that she never said she had periods but her mood swings just made me suspicious about that.

"Oh! But what is it that we are supposed to decide?" Seiten asked while tilting his head sideways as he brought a finger to the side of his lips.

"There are a lot of things that we have to make decisions about but all of those decisions can be made by making only one decision..." Mio took a dramatic pause as she held her head high like some kind of higher existence and said.

"We have to decide, who will be our new leader!" She said. It wasn't a question, it was a statement.

"Oh? Being the leader? Now that's a thing worth leaving my sweet afternoon nap for!" Seiten said as a wide smile appeared on his face.

"Hm..." I on the other hand was really not that interested in the idea. It is a lot of work after all.

"Alright then! We will decide who's gonna be the leader of the team with a vote! Does anyone have a problem with that?"

"nope!"

"No."

"Good. then I'll start. I vote myself as a candidate to being the team leader! Now, Seiten, your turn!"

"I also vote myself! There is no way I am not becoming a leader!"

After both of them had given their vote they both looked at me. Seiten had tears in his eyes as his mouth kept spelling things like 'You are my bro, Right?' and Mio just had stars in her eyes as she looked at me with expectations. Both the gazes were making me uncomfortable but I didn't want either of them to become a team leader of the team, I am in, so there was really no other way other thenー
