Amelia Clarke stared at the words "Grandma Collins" on her phone screen for a moment before answering.
She hadn't had the chance to speak when Old Madam Collins' joyful voice came through, "Amelia, happy New Year."
Amelia felt somewhat apologetic, "Happy New Year, Grandma Collins, I should have been the one to call you..."
"It's all the same," Old Madam Collins chuckled, "Haven't seen you for a few days, are you doing well recently?"
Amelia smiled, "Yes, I'm doing well, thank you for thinking of me, Grandma Collins."
"Are you spending the New Year with the Morelands? Have they been good to you?" Old Madam Collins asked in such a manner that gave Amelia the illusion that she was family.
If her grandmother were still alive and knew she was married, she would undoubtedly have asked with concern: Are they treating you well?
