Chapter Three
The Arthur Baker she knew shouldn't have been such a scheming, calculating person.
He was kind, filial, considerate, and cheerful, always bringing her positive energy.
Even in her presence, he had shown great concern for his grandfather's opinion of him and was eager to cooperate with her to change his grandfather's mind.
But why, all of a sudden, had all that become an illusion?
It was as elusive as flowers in the fog, all in vain.
Her question undoubtedly caused Arthur Baker a sharp pang in his chest.
He wanted to say it had nothing to do with him.
But was that really the case?
If he hadn't said those words, if he had supported his grandfather more in the end, sent him to the hospital in the quickest time...
But he didn't want these things to happen either.
Arthur Baker frowned, "I didn't want these things to happen either."
"So you were helpless?" Sofia Hamilton asked mockingly, interrupting him.
