"Honk honk honk," as the car horn sounded, the driver, rolling down his window, shouted, "What are you doing blocking the road? Don't you know good dogs don't stand in the way?"
"My boyfriend was stolen away from me, and I can't even stand here to watch?!" Emma Osborne retorted angrily.
"If he's been stolen, why didn't you get in your car and chase after him? You're such an idiot!" The driver mocked her, then stepped on the accelerator, speeding past her and covering her face with exhaust fumes.
Having her face sprayed with exhaust, Emma finally snapped out of it. She no longer cared to argue with the taxi driver; she immediately turned and ran back to her car. She quickly got in, started it up, and drove off.
However, she had been so caught up in arguing with Felicity Lambert that she hadn't taken note of the taxi's license plate. Besides, all taxis looked alike; she didn't know which one to chase after.
