When Lila opened the car's door, I saw a beautiful blonde-haired woman resting on the set while looking at me.
"Set there!" She maintained her demeanour and pointed at the set opposite her. I stood silent and stared at Olivia.
"She looks beautiful compared to the last time I saw her," I thought and admired Olivia's looks.
"Move!" Lila shouted from behind me as she pushed me into the car. Her voice was filled with disdain and irritation toward me. I ignored her and sat opposite of Olivia. Lila then joined us, sitting beside her, and closed the door firmly, ensuring I wouldn't leave.
"If you attempt to do something or speak explicit words, the next moment, you will never be able to walk again." She spoke coldly with narrow eyes. I stayed silent to her glare and thought.
"She thinks I'm unmanner boy and not suited to be here, Huff... Why do all noble people like that, superior, graceful, act better than common people? I have experienced this before when I was in the capital of humanity."
Reminiscing about the past, I remember the time when how people treated me badly because of my commoner heritage. But thanks to the Empress, she taught me a noble lifestyle, how they eat, talk and walk. Every basic thing of upper-class people.
I adjusted my posture straight and put both my hands above my thighs. I looked at Olivia and Lila with firm eyes. "Why have you called me here? Is it about that night when the monster attacked?"
Lila was surprised by my sudden noble demeanour, she didn't expect me to know how to talk in such polite and clear.
Olivia looked at me with a lingering gaze she suppressed her inner feelings and took the initiative to talk. With a polite voice, she said. "Yes, it's about that night you saved me from these lecherous and filthy monsters."
She tries to hide her blushing looks as the images of that night resurface in her eyes; I carried her in my embrace and defeated the monster easily.
"Miss Olivia, are you sure this boy is the one who saved you? But I checked his document in the guild and military, there is no information on this boy. He is not even arcane fighter." Lila raised her voice and found it suspicious that she had not found any information related to me in both places.
"There is no doubt about it, Lila. I'm sure he saved me, if he didn't show up, I would have..." Olivia paused in the middle, she didn't want to explain any further. But Lila and I have already guessed what she meant.
Lila was in disbelief and stared at me closely, she didn't find anything extraordinary in me that could at least give some evidence to believe in Olivia's words. "How can a boy like him defeat a D-rank monster all alone? This is ridiculous. Has Miss Olivia made a thing, or has he put some dark magic in her?"
"How long are they planning to keep me here? I don't know what Aria might be doing with Mom. I hope she won't create any trouble while I'm out." I thought and felt concerned for Aria and Mom.
Olivia sighed as she once again looked at me and spoke. "Before I begin, let me introduce myself. I'm Olivia Valerian, and this is my personal body as well as my maid, Lila. She doesn't like normal much and does not get along well with strangers."
I waited for her to complete her sentence after I introduced myself. "My name is Evan, it pleasure to meet you, Olivia."
"You bastard! You dare to call Miss by her name—"
"Calm down, Lila. Let him speak I won't mind it." Olivia stopped Lila before she unleashed her anger on me.
"But miss..." Lila gave me a threatening glare as she folded her arms crossed and sat quietly.
"She sure would have beat me up if Olivia wasn't here." Looking back at her, Olivia gave me an apologetic look, however, she felt flattered when she heard me calling her name.
"There is something I wanna know from you, are you an arcane fighter?" She spoke firmly and with a sincere voice.
"Arcane fighter? I remember something like that mentioned in the newspaper, but I didn't read anything further."
I listen to her request and come to understand she is waiting for a genuine answer from me, I replied truthfully, "I'm sorry but I don't know what is this arcane fighter,"
"Huh? You don't know about the arcane fighter?" Olivia was shocked at my reply and couldn't believe me at first.
"He isn't lying, he really doesn't know about the arcane fighter." Lila judged my body gestures and came to know I was speaking the truth. Her doubts about me increased manyfold after this.
"Why do they have such surprise looks? Is this arcane fighter thing that common in the world now?"
Olivia sighed and took her time to explain about this arcane fighter and guild. Since after the massive monster attack, the world order has changed significantly.
Those monsters were insanely powerful and their strength wasn't anything like humans had ever faced before. Those monsters were immune and useless against modern weapons. They had almost destroyed everything in their path. The monster slaughtered and captured the women and children ruthlessly. Military at first could not do anything, but later onwards, many people awakened with the ability to 'Arance fighters'.
They had extraordinary strength and magical power that normal people don't have. They join together with and defeat the monster.
The monsters soon realised that they couldn't win, so they fled to save their life and went back to the portal from where they came from.
But things did not stop, portals often open randomly in certain locations, and those monsters walk to others to capture the human and take it with them, no one knew what they would do to them, but it was evident they wouldn't be back alive.
It was not long ago when those guilds were founded by rich people. They recruited power fighters and sent them to portals to retrieve valuable items that were found on the inside.
Portals and fighters are ranked based on their power and strength. S is the strongest of all, and only very few people on earth below that are A-rank fighters who are weaker than S-rank fighters. There was a significant strength difference between them, like heaven and hell, when there is a B rank, C rank, D rank, and lastly, E rank.
She finished explaining and drank water after the long lecture.
My curiosity arose in many folds, and I realised that the earth had changed significantly since I was summoned to another world. "The world I used to know has changed so much in such a short time, it is almost unbelievable. Arcane fighters venture inside the portal to hunt monsters and find valuable items like minerals. But the best thing comes when they defeat the boss of the portal, the place disappears soon, leaving many rewards like gold and weapons. Defeating the boss will also increase the rank. Excluding the last part, this system is the same as a dungeon."
I thought and asked questions from Olivia, "Is that so? Are you also the arcane fighter?"
She nodded her head in response. "Yes, I'm a D-rank arcane fighter and Lila, she is A rank fighter. She is tasked to protect me by my mother's order, and she is head of Valerian's great family."
"Why are you telling me all this? It isn't like I'm friends with you. We just had an introduction?" I doubted why she was telling me everything without any hesitation.
Olivia stopped and realised she had been speaking carefree. Lila was annoyed inwardly at Olivia and thought she was again acting unusual.
"I want to know how you defeat those D-rank monsters." She spoke and gazed at me with determination eyes.
"When you appeared, your power was the same as compared to ordinary humans, but your speed and strength were anything like I haven't seen."
She brought out her tablet and looked at the information as she explained. "Your name is Evan, you have lived in the slums since your father left you and your mother, Erina. You are in currently in huge debt and your mother is suffering from cancer and other rare disease."
"How does she know everything about me and my mom... What am I even thinking? In this tech era, finding information for a noble is like a piece of cake and for her, it is like fishing in a bucket." I sigh and continue to listen to her.
"There is no information about your awakening as an arcane fight, Even in your family background, no one was there. However, one month ago, you suddenly disappeared in the monster attack in the city plaza. Afterwards, you came back not long ago on the same night you saved me. Tell me where were you?"
"You know all about me and my past but not everything."
"That's not my answer. I want to know where you were in the monster attack and how you became stronger.
I silently looked at her and pondered. "Should I need to tell her that I was summoned to another world? No, it better to keep this as a secret from the world."
"I apologise, but I can't answer your question." Listening to my reply, Olivia was surprised and somewhat expected that she wasn't going to get an answer from me.
"Huh, Why? Are there any reasons behind those that you can't answer?" She asked with a firm voice.
"I cannot speak about the reason, but there is something important I wanted to ask you," I said, glancing at both Olivia and Lila, who were silent as they waited for me to continue.
"When you were fighting with the monster, I saw your sword was covered in blue flame; you called it Flames of Haven, right?" I stroked my jaw gently and spoke with a soft voice. Olivia and Lila were slightly surprised, but they kept to compose their demeanour.
"I didn't expect that you would remember that. Yes, that is my power Flames of Haven, which I received from my mother."
"Your mother? Mind telling me about her?" I became curious about her mother and asked to know about her, especially about the power she possesses.
Olivia's eyes narrowed in irritation as she spoke in a cold voice. "Hold your tongue, kid. I'm treating you well for saving me from those monsters, but that doesn't mean you should think too highly of yourself. This is a matter for my family."
"Miss, shall I teach this kid how to talk in a manner?" Lila joined in, with a joyful expression on her face, she found it satisfying to see Olivia finally glare at me.
I silently observed them and gave a slight shrug of my shoulders along with an apologetic smile. "My apologies, I didn't mean to offend you in any way. I'm simply curious about your power. It looks fascinating."
"Your sweet words are futile kid, better use your mouth carefully next time." Lila blustered at me with a smile.
I ignored her words and turned toward Olivia. She seemed angry with me after I asked about her mother. "I shouldn't have asked that, it's too soon for me. We only met a short while ago, and I need to build a connection between us. She is wealthy, and perhaps I could benefit from that. But for now, I want to learn more about the Flames of Haven. It's something that's been on my mind, the last time I saw it, it looked so familiar."
I got an idea as I tried to request Olivia show me her power. "Olivia, can you show me, how you use the flame of Haven?"
Olivia, felt her heart filled with butterflies whenever I called her name, her blush was barely visible and asked with a narrow gaze.
"Why, is there something you want to confirm?"
"Yes, indeed Olivia," I called her name softly presuming she liked me calling her name.
Olivia lowered her head and tried to hide her inner feelings, she took a deep breath.
Lila understood that Olivia had agreed without saying a word. She stopped her with a concerned look on her face. "Miss, you shouldn't do that; you haven't mastered your power yet. You might end up exhausted again."
"Does she not have mastery over her power? I remember that night when she used the flames; it only burned for a second."
"I will be fine, it's only for a few seconds," Olivia spoke, raising her hand into the air, I looked at her closely, the mana around her body began to move.
"The man exists in this world too, but the amount present is lower than it should be, not only that, the mana inside Olivia is not flowing properly, suppressing her power from attaining it true power." I thought and saw Olivia's hand start to glow, it soon covered in blue flames and lightens the car with a blue hue.
I moved closer and examined the flames. Olivia started to sweat immediately after summoning the flames, she was only able to maintain them for a few seconds before they vanished.
"*Huff... Huff...*"
"Miss here, drink some water."
Olivia panting heavily as Lila gives her some water. She the drink and wiped her sweat.
"As I expected and thought, why did I feel these flames look so familiar? It belongs to Azure dragons, one of the fearsome creatures that exist in that world. Their flames can burn forever if someone mistakenly comes into the content of the flame, then it would be impossible to escape alive. The flames with burn until your ashes won't disappear." I thought and looked at Olivia.
"However, the flames are so weak, they are barely able to ignite for a second, she has a very dangerous power, but sadly she can't use it properly." I smiled and moved my hand toward Olivia, she looked at me dumbfounded as Lila thought I was about to do something inappropriate.
Before she could speak, I said. "Can I hold your hand?"
"Huh?" She was baffled by my words and her cheeks turned red.
"What do you plan to do with Miss? Don't you even think about doing anything?" Lila shouted at me in anger. I glanced at Olivia, waiting for her response.
She stared uncertainly at my hand, unsure of my intentions. However, seeing my gentle and warm smile seemed to reassure her that I wouldn't bring any harm.
Olivia moved her hand and put it above mine, she felt warm as she touched my skin, "It's so warm, Did all boys ' hands feel like this?"
"Miss..." Lila was concerned about Olivia as she saw I was holding her hand, she gritted her teeth and became caution.
I closed my eyes and transferred some mana in her veins. "I need to make sure I won't send too much mana into her body, it might end up killing her if I overdo this, and not only that, the mana I'm sending is mine which is completely filtered and pure from ordinary people's mana, any simple spell could be enhanced and refined into countless fold. Yes, it wasn't that easy, I've trained too hard for my magic. It's not like anyone could achieve this. I help to left the demonic curse from the fairies and other magic beasts. They all thanked me and shared the energy with me to purify my mana."
I think back on my past, and a joyful smile appears. Olivia's body trembled, as she felt my mana entering her body. Her cheeks turned bright red. She felt her lower lips getting wet and her legs were shaking. "Ahhh~ What is this, what he is doing, I need to take my hand back, but my body isn't listening to me. Ahhh~ This feeling, it's too good, I'm going to wet~"
Olivia screamed inside her mind, but just before she was about to wet. I spoke softly. "Now, once again, show me your flames of haven."
She nodded her head and immediately summoned her flames.
"*whooshing!*"
The flames appeared in Olivia's hand it was much bigger and much more saturated. The car inside was brightened up with blue.
"What is this?"
"Miss Olivia!"
Olivia was stunned as she witnessed the flames in her hands. She couldn't believe her eyes that those flames belonged to her. Lila had the same expression as Olivia; she stared at the blue flames with wide-open eyes.
As they were both stunned, I stopped sending my mana into Olivia's body and released her hand. The flames disappeared immediately, leaving Olivia confused about what had just happened. The moment our hands touched, she felt an overwhelming joy unlike anything she had ever experienced before. But when the flames died down, she was left with emptiness, wondering if it was the flames or my warmth she truly missed.
