Chapter 22 - Haruna's emotions!

In order to prevent Lala from standing out among the humans, Rito and Lala left his house together at the crack of dawn.

Lala had changed into the human-like clothing that Rito had found featured in the magazine.

Rito found that Lala was just as athletic as he was and that she could keep up with his speed with ease as he ran.

'Wow! She sure is strong. In the anime, she even fought with Yami single-handedly while protecting Rito, so I was able to tell that she was strong, but this strong.'

Rito turns to look at Lala with a hint of surprise on his face as he notices that more people are now looking in his direction. He then notices that most of them are giving her an odd look.

'Fuck! They are ogling at her.' As they both accelerated once more, leaving them all in the dust, he simply turned to glare at the person closest to him and shook his head while muttering something to Lala.

"There is a friend of mine around; let go and meet her. I am sure that you both will come to become good friends in the future."

Even Rito began to feel a little exhausted from moving so quickly and stopped at the park, which was not too far from the location of Haruna's meeting.

He then spoke with Lala about Haruna and discovered that she was very eager to meet Rito's friend, which made him feel better.

'She might be close to Rito; that is why he tried to tell me first about her before meeting her.' Lala unconsciously sensed Rito's hidden concerns while speaking with him about Haruna.

This was more like a sixth sense for Lala. It is for this reason that, despite her ignorance of the situation at hand, she was able to infer that the person she was about to meet might be significant in Rito's life.

"Let's go! Rito!" Rito was pulled along by Lala as they ran in the direction of their meeting place. They came across a blue-haired beauty talking to a small dog by the side of a bench.

Haruna noticed Rito, but as she gazed at the stunning girl dragging Rito behind her, she experienced an odd sensation in her chest.

She was able to overcome those emotions, however, and turn to face the two of them as they smiled and walked in her direction.

After half an hour...

Even though Rito could tell that Haruna must have been feeling extremely uncomfortable during their conversation, he still wanted Haruna to meet Lala because, since he had agreed to be Lala's fiancé, he wanted her to see this aspect of his life as well.

Given that everyone has a different point of view, if someone felt that Rito was being greedy, then their opinion of that situation was not incorrect.

However, Rito, who was in love with Lala and Haruna, felt that it was inappropriate to be judged by others for being right or wrong in a situation involving love.

After all, in the term of literally 'Love is blind.' is a common phrase to define Love.

Meanwhile!

Haruna experienced a pang of pain in her chest after speaking with Lala and Rito. She knew they had a special relationship from the moment she saw them approaching, but hearing about it from them only made it more difficult for her to accept.

"Why?" Haruna went back to her room and sat on her bed with a tear dripping from the corner of her eye as she considered what had gone wrong from her perspective.

'Was I too late to make the move?' When a knock on her door shook her off, Haruna muttered as she wiped a tear from her eye and removed the face cleaner from her face before leaving.

'I can't give up, now!' When Haruna left her room, accepting reality, a small spark of spirit appeared in her eyes.

She was unaware that her sister had been staring at her for the entire time and appeared to have noticed something odd about her behavior.

Though she was still unsure of everything, she still made the decision to remain silent and wait until she learned about the person behind Haruna's new behavior.

"I will be back in a few days!"

Lala went with Justin because her mother had returned and wanted to meet with her daughter about the fiancee situation, so Lala was called back, and Rito bid his farewell and realized why Lala had insisted on being with him this morning.

After all, Lala knew she might need to return and wanted to spend more time with him, even if he was a little hesitant about it. For the night thing, he also wanted to make it up for her, but he knew he would have more chances in the future.

"Okay! After that, I am having a summer break soon, so we will be able to enjoy going around the beach and all." Not that Rito wanted to see Lala in a swimsuit or anything, but he wanted her to come and enjoy the sea of the earth as well, so he was only thinking about it for Lala.

"Yeah! I will come back soon." Rito entered his room and began getting ready for school after Lala left, leaving him on the side of the house because it appeared that he would be running late if he normally walked to school.

Because of this, he needed to take a shortcut today, despite the fact that Lady Luck was not on his side, and he once again came across the cat climbing the tree and meowing for assistance.

"You little, how do you always find yourself on that tree again and again? Can't you enjoy something else once in a while?" Jumping on the tree, he brought down the little cat, who started to rub her head against his cheeks and finally became the reason why Rito was late for the class.

"Yuki Rito! Now go and take your seat already!" Seemingly today, the teacher looked really annoyed, but she did not flare up at him and allowed him to take the seat quickly.

While Haruna appeared to occasionally glance at him, Kotegawa appeared to be holding back a smile as she watched him get yelled at a little for being late.

But that moment never appeared, and Rito took his seat beside Haruna and turned to nod at her.

"Good morning, Haruna-san." Haruna smiled and nodded as she thought about how Rito was still in her presence, despite the fact that she was certain her emotions were audible to everyone this morning.

"Good morning, Rito-kun!"

Even though Rito was still sitting next to him and she had a lot to ask and discuss with him, Haruna could not help but feel stiff when speaking with him because, in her mind, everything about him was shifting.

Since humans are weak creatures to begin with and it is changes that they are mostly worried about, what Haruna was feeling at the moment was the same, as she felt the burden of having Rito changed within her heart.

"Haruna..." Both of her friends seemed to have noticed it all and looked worriedly at Haruna, who was sitting on the seat with her mind wondering about the Rito and Lala relationship.
