Rufus Swallow felt a chill run down his spine from being watched like this. He had never won a fight against Treton and glanced at Maple Swallow, silently signaling that they should join forces to restrain him if Treton lost control.
Maple Swallow, with his head bowed, was searching for something. It was too dark on the mountain, and the jungle was dense. It took him a while to find the secret marks left by Treton and follow them up the mountain.
But where had Norris Moore gone?
The ambulance was close by, with nurses and doctors all ready to go, prepared to perform emergency treatment at any moment. Sherry White and Treton were both there, so why wasn't Norris?
Had she been taken somewhere else by Sherry White?
Maple Swallow lifted his head and looked at Treton, asking, "Treton, where's Norris? The doctors are behind us; I'll call them over."
