The words of the driver were something he had already guessed when he saw the B-ultrasound results, but hearing them from someone else's mouth still made him feel somewhat congested in his heart.
He nodded and said to the driver, "I'm going upstairs to check on her."
The driver took the shopping bag from his hand, smiled, and said, "Hurry up then. Miss Lulu has been busy upstairs since she got back; she hasn't come down at all. She locked the door and won't let anyone go up."
Upon hearing this, Rufus's eyes darkened slightly, and his steps quickened as he ascended the stairs.
When he arrived at the bedroom door, he reached out to turn the handle and found it locked from the inside. Taking a deep breath, he spoke firmly, "Aria, it's me. Open the door."
There was no movement inside.
Rufus closed his eyes, and just as he was about to raise his foot to kick the door open, it was unlocked from the inside.
