Luke Moore walked slowly from a distance and paused when he saw the two people embracing at the door.
Norris Moore saw him, stepped back, and pushed Trenton Smith away.
"Dad," she called out to him.
She had planned to explain her relationship with Trenton Smith during the meal, admitting her utter lack of filial piety. After so many years, her unrelenting fixation on Trenton Smith persisted, and she hoped to secure Luke Moore's forgiveness.
But what she hadn't expected was Trenton Smith's utter lack of repentance for his actions eight years ago, which somewhat infuriated her.
No matter what, the culprits of past mistakes were both her and him. She had forgiven the mess he had caused; didn't he feel any guilt about the past?
Luke Moore looked up at them. Norris Moore couldn't help but feel nervous, and she clenched Trenton Smith's hand, thinking about how to plead for him in case Luke Moore got angry.
She no longer expected Trenton to say anything.
