Hadrian along with Neville and Luna, stood in the middle of the hallway shocked at what had just unfolded in front of them. Who wouldn't react in such a way, when you suddenly find one of your biggest bullies beautiful. Luna wouldn't call it weird, but rather refreshing. She was never enemies with the Slytherin. In fact they had exchanged pleasantries with each other quite a few times, but it was only brief.
But whenever she was around him, she would see quite a number of Wrackspurts around him, that only made her smile. To say that Neville and Hadrian weren't looking absolutely foolish right now with the way they were gawking at Malfoy, would just be lying. Neville had the look of pure awe and innocence that he would blend in perfectly with the first years who were equally in shock.
But Hadrian was just releasing a whole new aura. He licked his lips with anticipation as he watched Draco walk away and disappear into the crowd entering the Great Hall.
Luna was starting to get scared at the glint Hadrian's eyes seemed to be making. Not to mention how his eyes were dangerously low to be looking directly at Draco's back. "Did you guys see that fox? It just appeared out of nowhere..." Neville continued to rant about what the fox could be and if he could get to see it again.
While Hadrian was lost in thought, licking his lips and smirking once in a while. 'Okay, he is starting to get creepy now'. Luna thought as she stepped away from him a few feet. Once they had entered the Great Hall, they departed to sit at their rightful houses.
The first years in a line as they waited to get sorted.
Hadrian didn't understand the images that started to display in his head after that little performance Draco obviously didn't mean to do. The images containing a few of Draco being slammed into as he is bent over a table. Hadrian couldn't compress his urge to smirk, which probably made him look like a mad man, but he didn't care.
Hadrian would be lying if he said he had never found Malfoy beautiful in some instances. But he never paid any heed to it. Now it was near impossible to ignore the obvious truth right in front of him, with Malfoy's now slender legs showing through the fabric, his delicate features only one can dream of having, his soft looking hair tied nicely in a bun, which he pulled off spectacularly.
And the oh so perky butt that one could not help but look at once he walked away, 'This school year, is going to be quite enjoyable." Hadrian muttered with one last glance at the smiling blonde.
A few first years had been sorted into Slytherin, to no one's shock and everyone was in full mingle, "Hi!!" A girl's voice rand out from beside Draco, who in turn looked at her. He gave her a small smile before replying back.
"I'm Katherine Petras, and this is my brother Aaron Petras, nice to meet you... Draco Malfoy right? I saw you on the Daily Prophet one time. Is it true your dad caught and turned in more than 20 death eaters?" Katherine asked with excitement that Draco couldn't ignore her.
So he answered each and every one of her questions, "So, what are you? We saw that cool thing you did with the snow and the fox." The same fox sat on Draco's lap, asleep, with no intent of ever waking up.
Draco took a deep breath, "I'm a Veela." He replied with almost no hesitation. Almost. "Really? What kind? I have read so much about them." Katherine asked as she pushed a strand of her brown hair behind her ear. Why the hell did she have to ask this question now?
On one side, almost everyone could turn on him if he told the truth, but on the other only a few would take it difficult, and he could just live with the fact that he only had a few true friends. Better a few true friends, that a colony of fake ones, "I'm a...Submissive."
Katherine smiled and gave him a curt nod that she was fine with it, as well as a few people from the table, some just didn't care enough to show approval, and a few sent glares and pointed looks of disgust, to which Draco ignored.
Most of the population of Slytherin was fine with him, so that was enough to boost his spirits, 'So, you're like Gay?" A boy with dark brown hair, sitting beside Katherine asked. Katherine elbowed him and said, "Stop living in denial Aaron." She looked back at Draco, "He has a crush on this 2nd year guy we saw on the train. Wouldn't shut up about him.
We come from a strict family so, we don't know how to go about this." Katherine explained as Aaron turned a deep shade of pink. He clasped a hand over Katherine's mouth and lowered his head.
Draco ruffled his hair, "I can help. I may know this guy. Plus your parents should love you for you, if they don't then they shouldn't have even bothered to give birth." Draco reassured the two and soon continues to talk with Katherine and Aaron with another first year.
Instead of enjoying the beautiful Candle lit room with bustling voices and A class food right in front of them, they spent their time talking and eating in between conversation. It was a nice setting for it anyway. (Put dots)
Hadrian just couldn't bring himself to look at Ron and Hermione the same way again, and they making it very hard to ignore them. Well, more Hermione than Ron. Hermione kept on trying to make conversation, while Ron didn't even bother to make eye contact him. Soon enough, Hermione gave up on trying to talk, and went into conversation with a first year beside her, still looking sad.
"Harry!!"
"You Look-"
"Different!!" The twins ended in unison. Hadrian turned toward them with a smile. They were the only Weasleys he could trust apparently, so why not catch up. "Hey Fred. George." He nodded curtly at them across the table.
The two shared a glance, "Why so distant lately? You have been ignoring Hermoine and Ron the whole time." Fred asked as George nodded along.
Hadrian didn't know what to say, it's not like he could say, 'I just found out that she and Ron, along with the rest of your family and Dumbledore have been stealing from my vaults and lying to me the entire time. So, how's it going with you?' That was the last thing he wanted to say to them, especially in such a crowded area.
So, he just went with, "I'm just too tired to be answering all her questions right now And it's Hadrian now." He said as he rubbed his forehead with frustration, before taking a sip of his pumpkin juice.
He was never one to pass up Pumpkin juice and a slice of treacle tart, nope not Hadrian Jake Riddle. He was all for it, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
'Good one.' His inner dominant along with his familiars said in unison. Hadrian just rolled his eyes and ignored them. Fred and George shared a look and whispered to each other, "Something is up Gred."
"Definitely Feorge."
They turned back to Hadrian who was now talking to Dean and Seamus. Who both looked at him in awe. All around the table, a few people kept shooting glances at him, some with awe, some with envy and some with an unknown glint. This year was not going to end well.
Now you must be wondering about Hadrian's familiar's and inner dom. Let me explain. After a week of exercising and training with his abilities, he had released a few familiar's and met his inner dom. To say he was frightened would be absurd but true in some cases. I mean who wouldn't freak out when you are just taking a walk through a park.
Then suddenly a basilisk the size of a regular snake, a phoenix glowing an ominous green color, almost emerald like, and a huge dragon, with its scales varying from white to brown to green to red and then back to white, appears in front of you out of thin air.
They don't look like they want to hurt you, but does not explain why they just appeared and start staring at you as if waiting for movement. Luckily it was late at night so not many were around.
Hadrian tried to go for his wand, but remembered how magic wasn't allowed outside of Hogwarts. So that was going to be a problem. But since when did that stop him, 'Well met master.' Hadrian heard from within his head, multiple voices rang out.
His eyes widening with shock at the occurrence. What was going on?
The creatures bowed their heads as they waited. "What is going on?" Hadrian muttered, but it seems they have excellent hearing. The dragon shrunk to the size of a mini bag before saying, 'We are your magical Animagus' or familiars if you will.' It said as it stayed afloat in front of Hadrian.
The phoenix followed suit as it now sat upon Hadrian's shoulder. Hadrian thought back to the time he went to Gringotts, and the parchment he had lying in his 'room'. "Accio Inheritance Parchment." He muttered. The school didn't need to know of his use of magic, if it was such a minor spell.
A parchment flew into his hands. He opened the folded parchment and scanned over the contents. They really did belong to him, but why appear now? 'What are you doing here?' Hadrian asked cautious not to say anything wrong as the phoenix perched on his shoulder, with large talons that could easily penetrate his flesh and harm him.
The familiars looked at one another and said, 'You summoned us master. It happens when you are feeling strong emotions.' The dragon said as it flew around his torso. Hadrian grimaced at the word, 'I prefer you call me Hadrian.' He thought back to them. The familiars' eyes turned a bright blue before fading back to their original colors.
Hadrian looked at them with worry, 'What happened?' That was a perfectly sensible question, as he just witnessed three potential threats eyes glow an ominous blue. 'You have allowed us to address you by first name, so now we can act as we please.' The basilisk said in a crisp and deep voice.
Hadrian remembered Hermione telling him about this, before all of this happened and to say it was helpful, would be ungrateful. It was extremely helpful. He could just owl her how much he was grateful for all her babbling, but that is not on his list of priorities.
He had heard a few things about familiars, but not enough. He had enough knowledge to know about the Uranulist law. It means, when a familiar is allowed to call its master by first name, it has the permission to act and do as it pleases, but if its master commands it to not do anything with out their permission, they are only allowed to talk freely, and not act.
One of the most known laws among most, so common that some have not even allowed the familiar to come out unless needed. It surely is a wicked world. Hadrian looked at all of them with neutrality, before going over some rules and instructions with the familiars.
He instructed them to become invisible to others eyes, before jogging back with them right behind him.
*Clink Clink* Came the sound of McGonagall calling for attention from the students. She instructed the prefects to escort the first years to their respectable common rooms, and to show them their rooms. She requested that after they showed the first years their rooms, they were to come back.
After about 15 minutes of waiting the prefects came back, "I and the other teachers along with the approval of Dumbledore, have come to a conclusion. People who have come into inheritance are to have their own rooms, or share with other people who have entered inheritance.
It may be a bad idea for people with inheritance to share with others without them. That could result in matters we can not be dealing with right now. That will be all. Excused." With that the Great Hall was rid of all students as they exited. Each teacher in charge of their houses stood in front of their common rooms to escort the people who entered their inheritance to their new rooms.
So far they got: Hadrian Jake Riddle (Gryffindor) - Dominant Shadow wolf
Ernie MacMillan (Hufflepuff)- Dominate Golden Eagle
Hannah Abbott (Hufflepuff)- Submissive Water Nymph
Daphne Greengrass (Slytherin)- Submissive fairy
Blaise Zabini (Slytherin)- Dominant Veela
Pansy Parkinson (Slytherin)- Submissive Vampire
Draco Malfoy (Slytherin)- Submissive Veela
Angelina Johnson (Gryffindor)- Submissive Elf
Theodore Nott (Slytherin)- Dominant Phoenix
Dean Thomas (Gryffindor)- Dominant Snow Deer
Greggory Goyle (Slytherin)- Dominant Fire Fox
Lavender Brown (Gryffindor)- Submissive Elf
Parvati Patil (Grffindor)- Dominant Harpy Hybrid
The Gryffindors were escorted to a new section of the Gryffindor common room were the rooms were. Harry was to room with Dean, and Angelina with Lavender, while Parvati got a room to herself.
Next the Slytherins were escorted to their new section were Draco roomed with Blaise, Pansy with Daphne, and Goyle with Theodore.
Next the Hufflepuffs were escorted to their new section were Ernie got his own room and Hannah got her own room. So far there were no Ravenclaws that went into inheritance, so there was no need for an extra section to be added.
McGonagall told them of the rules; You are allowed to stay out after curfew, but no loud chattering. You are allowed to mingle with other houses that have entered inheritance.
There was to be no misuse of alcohol, and lastly no intimacy that will be heard all over Hogwarts.
The same rules applied to all the other houses. Frankly, some others thought it wasn't fair, but they understood where they were coming from, so no complaint. A good start to the year.
