Chapter 27 - Chapter 26 – Speeding through (2)

After I make sure all the kids are sleeping or away… well, Aster couldn't be found sleeping, most of the times, I go find the kid… Vyanah. As Tony and Line were on it, Vyanah had basically lost his job, the kid still trained, especially under them.

"Hey kid," I greet him with a wave.

"Tar… hello," Vyanah bows a little, that part still couldn't be changed. But it was quite nice when he did that, so it was hard to keep asking of him to not do his little head-bop of a bow.

"You done eating?" I ask, pointing towards the empty bowl in front of him – using my head.

"Ah, yes, I was just about to-" Vyanah tries to grab the bowl, but I grab it while sighing.

I go and place the bowl at the tray with such bowls, and go back to sit with Vyanah – on the empty table's side.

"You need to find a friend, kid."

"And you need to marry, too."

I look at him, and he just stares at the empty table, as I clear my throat.

"Point taken, and reconsidered. We both sure have work to do."

"Well, I trained all day and I'm tired."

"Are you really?"

Vyanah looks at me. "Not anymore. What is it?"

"Well, I need to go out. Without… the red and blue seeing me."

Vyanah stares at me for a while. "On this path, Tar… you'll find my brother."

"He sounds very lovely, so why not."

"My brother is-"

"-death, death. Yes. I know. Relax on that. I'm old enough to die," I scoff.

"They still need you, Tar."

"And that is why I need to go out… now. So help me here, Vyanah. Just a little stroll below the night sky, yeah?"

Vyanah gets up. "You leave beyond where my eyes can see, or a human touches you for too long… I'm alerting the entirety of dragons in a heartbeat."

"Yeah, alright, now move-move," I say getting up, and walk past him while patting his shoulders.

As we walk out the door, Vyanah holds my shoulders and my whole body feels like a blur, as my feet leave the ground. I breath heavily and loudly, as we pass above the sea… after quite a while, Vyanah spins me around and I lie on his back, gasping and coughing.

"You seem to keep getting used to it. Third time really is the charm," Vyanah says.

"Technically the fifth, if we consider the up-and-down trips. And no, it doesn't freaking get better," I say, coughing and feeling like puking, while feeling a little choke and itch around my throat.

"Hang in there… besides, where are we going? Don't faint, you need to direct me."

"Augh… just read my mind and get it over with, kid," I collapse completely on his stable dragon-back, soaring through the sky.

"Fine… but don't overthink it, or I'll get confused."

"Oh I'm tired, so must be fine."

Time passes and I feel my hand grabbing onto one of Vyanah's wings, gently with the top of my fingers. Vyanah finally lands down, to the entrance of my town. And I get down, looking at this wretched deserted town.

"I hope they didn't miss me much."

I look back towards Vyanah, and he seems to be scouting through his eyes, further into this darkness. He holds his neck up-steady, while looking like a pride-filled lion. The blue and pink of his scales… was still a mystery and mystic.

Vyanah looks at me finally, and turns back.

"You shouldn't look too long," Vyanah gruffs at me.

"Fine…" I say, remembering the last two times… I couldn't help even the third time. The second time I blamed him, and he almost mauled me to death while turning into his dragon-form again. This was the lighter one of the three.

We walk past my house, and go further away… quite a distance on the walk of half an hour, and we finally reach a house with the name-sign 'Lispe'.

I knock on the door, and a sweet smiling little-girl opens the door. She smiles and quickly runs away inside, and comes back with her dad… Joseph Lispe.

"Ah, thought you were just sleepy, kid. It really is your dead uncle Tar," Joseph says.

"Hey to you too," I say.

Joseph looks at me, and then behind me, at Vyanah.

"Go sleep with mum, I'll be back in… maybe a couple days."

"If we don't-" I try to say.

"-if you don't die," the kid says.

"No one's dying," Vyanah says. "And make it couple hours. Way less than a day."

The kid locks the door, as Joseph steps out. After we hear her footsteps, Joseph faces me straight.

"Who's the kid?"

"His babysitter."

Joseph throws a loud, satisfied, 'ha'. Almost enough to wake the neighbourhood, let alone his wife Grenav.

"Both the Grenav doing good?" I ask.

"Thanks to you being away, yeah."

"It's Saturn."

"Won't even ask how I am? Only one chit-chat?"

"You look great, buddy."

"You mean my kid didn't?"

I look at him, while taking a breath and holding it. And I nervously start laughing, so does he.

"What about Saturn?" Joseph asks.

"Well, I heard they have a list of names and I'm pretty sure tha-"

"-yeah, I already know. Get to the point, Tarragon."

"So we go put an end to them," I shrug.

"Why?"

"Well, a wedding gift to the nephew."

"A wedding which I wasn't invited to."

"On foreign soil. Wouldn't want to risk you getting caught by people you don't remember."

"No, it is because they are dragons, right?"

I don't answer, and just look at him, with defeat sprayed on my face.

"What, you think it wasn't obvious? You asked me to help the kids, and I did. But you promised me that it was all to simply just know more about dragons."

"Honestly, me too but-"

"-but… now you just stay in Ashville, don't you? The place which MY ancestors ruled. Now they build their pretty castle on it?"

"Okay, let us just calm down, Joseph."

"No, you are a scum, Tarragon," Joseph pushes me. "I should have understood, with all that interest of your's in dragons. You just were DYING to make ally."

"They are just like us, Joseph."

"They killed so many," Joseph shoves me again.

"Don't touch him," Vyanah says from between his teeth.

Joseph looks at Vyanah and back at me.

"Saturn is the wrong side, Joseph. Please understand that."

"And dragons are fine?"

"Better, at the least. And we need them, if we have to face Saturn."

"Yet, you have only one ally here with you. Where are the others?"

"Constantly training."

"To burn a city?"

"Joseph, I understand what-"

"-oh you clearly don't," Joseph says and pushes me back lightly, as I try to go forward.

Vyanah comes forward in one step and breaths out, while looking straight into Joseph's eyes. Joseph stumbles and walks a few steps behind, before falling to the ground.

"Oh my god," I say, going to Joseph's aid as he starts puking.

"What the-" Joseph says, while unloading blood on the ground, through his vomit.

"Kid, you don't just do as everything I think of in my mind. That was just a intrusive thought, I didn't mean it."

"I told you, I can't allow a lot of touching."

"What was that thing?" Joseph asks, while gasping but finally stopping to puke.

"Something bigger than the dragons you hate, even Saturn. Something which Saturn wants to withhold."

"Rahambose," I sigh. "What… what did you even show him?"

"You don't wish to see, trust me," Vyanah says.

"Yeah, you have a weak heart, Tarragon," Joseph says while still coughing.

"You do, Tar."

"And you just knew this old man could take it?"

"He won't be of use, if he couldn't."

"So… isn't Rahambose supposed to be the offspring of some reincarnations? How does Saturn have anything to do with it? Don't tell me that the dragons carelessly let their-"

"-no," I say. "Well, it sure seemed that way with the prophecy. But there is an update… I think their son will be FINDING Rahambose. But Saturn already has hold of this power, I heard."

"Makeshift," Joseph sighs. "So that is what they found."

"What is Makeshift?" Vyanah asks.

"A failed program," I say.

"Or so we thought… they almost caused a Magnitude 10 for only a couple moments. The heat rose up enough to cause a forest fire, and even burn flesh itself. That amount of strength and heat… for a couple moments."

"Horrific experience which we won against."

"Not by choice or control… but yeah. So then, technically speaking, all that stopped because it converted to some energy which… doesn't cause a mixed up chaos, but has the potential to."

"Maybe because it didn't have a host. Its host died in moments too," I mumble.

"It is a dragon gem," Vyanah says. "Without a gem. So its host dies… or is driven mad… but that is not the Rahambose which the Prophet talks of."

"Indirectly is though," I sigh. "So the conflict between dragons and Saturn… will bring rise to Rahambose. Max and Sam… so that is what happens."

"And how do we stop this?" Joseph asks.

"By stopping Saturn. We can't defeat Rahambose, but we can do something about Saturn."

"Point taken. Then let's get going."

"I was serious about this being just a couple hours."

I groan out loud and glare at Vyanah. "At least are you along with the plan?"

"Gladly."

"In that case, let's not waste the couple hours. Let us go become a visitor for a new friend."

"Who might that be?"
