Chapter 3 - Chapter 2- Introduction to Class 1-D

Fumio Shiros POV:

As the entrance ceremony ended, everyone went to their assigned class. I was one of the first in my class as I looked for the seat with my nameplate, which was at the end of the left side of the room near the windows. 'One of the back corners huh.' I thought to myself, taking my seat and laying my head down in my arms, looking out the window. Staring outside, the window overlooked most of the school campus. It was massive, it could be considered its own city in many ways. Although, since it was funded directly from the government, it wasn't entirely surprising.

Minutes passed as students started to fill the classroom talking amongst each other, creating small groups. As someone sat down next to me, I lifted my head to see who it was. It was the girl I sat next to on the bus, who was reading a book, and stopped the other student asking why he was staring at her. I stared at her for a couple of moments before she turned towards me and spoke. "Do you need something?" She stated with a cold tone, staring me down. This only confirmed my suspicions that she hated people bursting into her personal bubble. Nonetheless, I gave a response back. "No, just wondering things." She then without giving me a response back, and started turning back to her book. Before she could fully go back into her book, I spoke. "Names Fumio Shiro, good to know you." sticking out my hand. "Suddenly introducing yourself, quite a bold one aren't you?" I kept my hand there. "We have met for a second time, although the first was briefly. We are also going to be seat-mates, so might as well get to know each other." "I don't see the merit in doing so." The Ice Cold Queen tone came back as she fully turned her gaze on her book. I sighed before opening my mouth again, tempting her to introduce herself. "Still, it would be awkward if we didn't know each other's name for the rest of the year. You could get lonely." I thought it was a good response in tempting to state her name, but I was massively incorrect. "Fortunately, I have never perceived loneliness as something troublesome."

I sighed, taking my hand back. I thought of ending the pursuit for her name but I had other plans. She had black hair and had a bit of a pink tint on her cheeks. With that, I had the perfect nickname to call her. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you… Rose-chan." She suddenly spoke out. "What did you just call me?" Turning her face towards me. I focused my gaze on her, making me realize that she was indeed very beautiful, especially with her gradient eyes. "Hm? Rose-chan is a cute nickname." I replied with a smirk, ticking her off even more. "I heard. What I meant was why?" "Hmm, well you didn't introduce yourself, so I gave you a cute nickname. You like it?" I put a finger on my mouth before speaking my thoughts, and teasing her with my last remark. "Horikita Suzune." "What?" I asked in a confused tone. "My name is Horikita Suzune, and do not call me that ever again." She finally said to me, facing me. "Okay fine. Nice to meet you Horikita-san." I said, giving her a slight smile. She stared at me for a few seconds before turning to the front of the class, muttering something to my seatmate in front of me as I laid my head back down, staring out the window.

Ayanokoji Kiyotakas POV:

I overheard the girl behind me state her name was Horikita, just like The Student Council President. 'I wonder if they are siblings… I'd have to ask her later.' I glanced over to her, analyzing what I could. "An annoying coincidence." She noticed me as she muttered those words. "The feelings mutual." I responded with my usual stoic face, before turning my head around the class, analyzing others. Someone then spoke to the entire class.

"Hey guys! Listen up for a sec. We should go around the room and introduce ourselves. Start to get familiar with each other. I'd like to get to know you guys. Plus, the teacher isn't here yet, so we might as well. Does that sound all good?" A light to dirty green colored hair guy spoke, proposing to the entire class. "I'm in!" the beige colored haired girl from the bus agreed. Which was quickly followed by others. "Yeah, that sounds like fun!" A gradient colored blonde haired girl agreed. "I agree! I mean how else are we going to get acquainted?" Another girl with pink gradient hair added.

"I'm glad to hear it! Well, I guess I'll go first then. I'm Hirata Yosuke, but you can just call me Yosuke if you want. I play every sport imaginable, and I'm going to try out for the school soccer team for sure. Thanks, nice to meet you all!" The light dirty green hair colored guy now known as Hirata introduced himself first. 'He's probably going to be the class leader at this rate' I thought to myself.

"Okay, I guess I'll go next! Hi, my name is Kushida Kikyo. My goal is to become friends with every person in the entire school! That obviously includes everyone here! So, if you're going out, please consider inviting me!" The beige colored hair girl, now known as Kushida introduced herself. This introduction acquired comments coming from some of the boys. 'She'll have no problem reaching that goal. She's got "everyone's friend" vibe going on.' I thought, scanning the room with my peripheral vision.

"Me next!" A boy with dirty beige hair spoke up. "I'm Ike Kanji! I love girls and hate Ikeman! I'm always accepting new girlfriend applications. All the better if you're a cutie or a beauty!" He finished, which caused some students in the class to laugh at his introduction. Some girls also started to tease him, and as he was taking them seriously, they laughed at him.

The next person started their introduction. "I'm Yamauchi Haruki. In elementary school, I went to nationals in ping-pong. In junior high, I was the baseball club's ace and cleanup hitter. I'm still recovering from an injury I got during the inter-high." "Oh, wow! The inter-high, in junior high!?" Ike exclaimed. As classmates were asking Yamauchi questions, someone stood up.

A girl stood up signaling that she was going to introduce herself next. The aura around her signified she had full confidence in introducing herself but once all eyes were on her, it dissipated. "M- My name is… Inogashira Ko- Ko…" This girl with the surname Inogashira, seemed to freeze during her introduction. Classmates started encouraging her. "Do your best!" "Don't panic! It's okay!" Moments passed of her being silent before two people said something at the same time. "It's okay to go slowly. Don't rush!" "Don't listen to them. Take it at your own pace." One came from Kushida and the other from a light brown hair colored guy. Everyone looked at the guy since he had never spoken, but suddenly blurted this out. This gave time for Inogashira to introduce herself fully.

"My name is Inogashira… Kokoro. Um, my hobby is sewing. I'm pretty good at knitting. I- It's nice to meet you all!" She then sat down, looking relieved to be out of the spotlight but embarrassed because of her freezing. A total of 3 introductions followed, before someone entered the classroom late. Hirata then spoke up.

"Alright, you." He said pointing at the student who just walked in. It was Satoru Yuuji. "Introduce yourself, everyone is doing it." Hirata stated, tempting Satoru to introduce himself following the trend. I could see him sigh before agreeing to.

Satoru Yuujis POV:

As I walked into class, a light green haired guy called out to me. I turned my attention to him as he spoke. "Introduce yourself, everyone is doing it." I agreed, while I walked towards my seat. My seat was right under the black haired girl from the bus, and Ayanokoji was to my left. The guy next to the girl was… Fumio Shiro. 'Of course he has his head down.' I thought to myself, before starting my introduction.

"My name is Satoru Yuuji, it's a pleasure to meet everyone and I hop… hope to get… along with… every… one?" I finished, stopping between each word as once I stated my name, a sudden loud screech of a chair moving was heard. Everyone turned their eyes towards the source of the sound.

Fumio Shiros POV:

As everyone introduced themselves like the Class Leader Hirata, the Overall Everyone's Friend Kushida, the Ikeman hater Ike, the Ace in baseball Yamauchi, the Shy girl Inogashira, the Rich boy Koenji, the Average girl Sato, and the Wholesome Cutie Wang or I guess Mii-chan since she told us to use her nickname instead. Hirata had told a student to introduce themselves but there was nothing for a few moments before they started. Only the sound of the initial door opening and the sound of tapping footsteps. Finally they had started their introduction. "My name is Satoru Yuuji, it's a pleasure to meet-" I suddenly jumped out of my seat, catching the attention of the whole classroom. I looked directly at the person speaking and it was none other than my childhood friend, Satoru Yuuji. I understood now why I felt the aura from my past. Seconds later, Hirata spoke to me. "Well, since the attention is on you, why don't you introduce yourself after Satoru-kun." I nodded in response and sat down again as the attention went back to Satoru.

Satoru then restarted his introduction after giving me a smirk. "My name is Satoru Yuuji, I hope to get along with everyone and it's a pleasure to meet everyone! I'm going to join the soccer club, and please don't mind my childhood friend, he's… a bit stupid." He finished, sticking his tongue out at me. He got some laughs from the class as I stood up immediately and spoke. "I'm not! If anything he's the dumb one." I scoffed at him before starting my introduction.

"My name is Fumio Shiro, I love literature, music and I'm debating on joining the soccer club or not. It's a pleasure to meet you all! I'm also not as mean as Puuji-chan." I finished with a cheerful smile. This got me some laughs as well as I also stuck my tongue out at Satoru as payback. He rolled his eyes as we both sat down for the next person to introduce themselves.

Hirata was scanning the room, as he looked back in my direction. "Next up… How about you?" He was pointing at the person in front of me. I could see Satoru slightly grinning at this. The student replied back in a confused manner. "Uh.. Who, me?" Hirata just nodded, as the student stood up. "Uh… So um… I'm Ayanokoji Kiyotaka. Uh… I can't wait to study with you. Ah, um… I'm not really good at anything in particular. Uh… I'll do my best to get along with you all." The silence that followed was astonishing. It signified that he had failed his introduction. The whole class then clapped in pity, followed by Hirata speaking. "Ayanokoji-kun. Well, it's nice to meet you. I can't wait to be friends." He was seemingly trying to cheer him up with his failed introduction.

As Hirata asked who was going to be next, a loud thud could be heard as everyone looked towards the noise. It was from the opposite side of the room as the last sound occurred.

A guy had kicked the desk in front of him, frightening the person in the seat, who was Ike. "Introductions are for grade-schoolers. What are we, a bunch of babies? Get to know each other on your own time!" The red haired student yelled as the classroom door opened revealing someone that seemed like a teacher in her late 20s early 30s.

"Let's get started everyone. Find your seats. I'm Chabashira Sae, the homeroom teacher for Class 1-D. At this school, you will not change classes. For the next three years, I'll be responsible for you until graduation. For our first order of business, the school rule book." She stated as she was handing out the rule books to the front of each column. "Take one and pass them back. We have some rather unique rules at this institution. First, you must all live in the dorms, your contact with the outside world will be restricted, as well as your time away from the campus. For anyone concerned, the school offers a wide variety of facilities. Anything you could need or want can be found here, including leisure and entertainment." Once I got my packet of the rule book, I looked around to see what others were doing, some were looking through it and others didn't even bother with it.

As they were done being passed back, Chabashira grabbed a basket placing it on the podium, she then proceeded to go around the class handing out mobile phones, with plastic wrapping around them. Some didn't care, some confused and some just opened it upon receiving. She then went back to her podium, holding up her own device.

"This will be your mobile phone, you may open it and look inside." Following what she said, I opened it up as the rest of the class did as well. "There are 3 important apps that are there to help you with your daily student lives. The first one is the Campus Board App, it's an app that shows you where things are and where the school website is located. This app pretty much has everything you need to know about the school in it. Next is the OAA(Overall All Abilities) App. This is an app that records your scores in academics, physical, adaptability and your social contribution skills. For academics, it averages your score from all 4 subjects, which are English, Mathematics, Science and History. Your 'academics' and 'physical' have already been scored, which you can check. Scores will be public for everyone to see starting May 1st. Finally the Student ID App. Here in the campus, paper money is not used. Rather, we use something called points. To make purchases, you will spend your points, which are tracked using the school's main computer system. At this school, you can buy absolutely anything on campus with these. Each point is worth one yen. If you all check your devices, you'll notice that you've been allotted 100,00 points this month."

As she had finished explaining everything, students around the classroom were excited as to the amount of money they were being given. Although 100,00 every month? If this school gave each student 100,000, then per class meant there would be a total of 3,000,000 million points. The total of classes in a grade is 4, so in total there would be 12,000,000 million points per grade. With there being 3 grades, the total amount for this school allotment would be 36,000,000 million points per month. That's only including if they gave out 100,00 every month, it would change if the number decreased or increased for a class or grade as a whole. There would most definitely be a catch, no way would the government nor school give that much to mere high schoolers. Also the teacher emphasizing on certain words like 'you can buy 'absolutely anything' and 'you've been allotted 100,00 'this' month' most certainly meant there was a catch to this. I glanced towards Satoru as he seemed deep in thought. 'I guess he came up with the same conclusion as me.' I thought, looking back to the teacher.

"I see you are all surprised by the size of your allotment. This school judges its students based on their merit alone. You've all shown immense value just getting into the school. We've allotted you what we think you are worth." She waited a couple of moments for it to sink before continuing. "The rest of the time is yours. Does anyone have any questions?" Chabashira scanned the room for any hands raised.

I raised my hand and spoke. "Excuse me sensei, how many points will we be receiving next month?" She immediately looked surprised, then showed a slight smirk, not noticeable to most. Ike then spoke out. "Didn't you hear what sensei said? We will be getting 100,00 points every month! What an idiot we have in class!" He is one of the most. With him laughing, his seatmates followed suit. Some other students joined in, while others were baffled as to why someone would ask a question when we are going to get 100,00 every month as Ike had said. Some of the smarter ones wondered about my reason to ask the question, looking at me trying to read me. Ayanokoji turned to face Ike but I felt he was staring at me in his peripheral vision. The blonde haired student from the bus glanced at me from angling his mirror to see for a few seconds, before he continued combing his hair. Horikita then glanced at me to see if my question was a joke or if it was a serious question.

After some time, the laughing died down, due to me and Satoru just staring at Ike. Ike then stopped laughing as he noticed us, staring back with a nervous look, before mumbling something to himself. I sighed before speaking again. "It seems I have asked a stupid question, I apologize sensei." "I see, but to answer your question, I am not sure." Chabashira responded, before leaving the classroom.
