I fiddle with lone Namekian Dragon Ball as I sat on the floor, still waiting for Stropo to return.
It's weird what you notice about the Dragon Balls when you start messing around with them. There were deceptively light, for one. You would think that something double the size of your own head would be heavy, but they really weren't.
"Elder Guru, I have returned with the Dragon Balls." Stropo said as he suddenly walked through the door.
I stand up and can't help but notice that he was strangely empty handed. Taking a glance behind him, I see that the rest of the Namekian Dragon Balls he was sent to collect were on the ground just outside the door.
"Thank you, Stropo." Guru nods his head in gratitude before turning his gaze to me and saying, "Go now, young Zyleth. I'm sure you are eager to return your friend to the world of the living."
"I am." I nodded before grabbing the Dragon Balls laying besides me and bowing my head towards Guru. "Thank you for your kindness, Grand Elder Guru."
"Mm." He hums and nods, smiling softly at me. "Stropo, please make sure that his wishes are fulfilled smoothly."
"Of course, Grand Elder." Stropo replies almost instantaneously.
Stropo and I walk out of the Grand Elder's house, leaving the old Namekian alone to his own devices. Each of us grabs two Dragon Balls each and we hop down to ground level.
We then walk a fair bit away from Guru's house, placing the four Dragon Balls that we had down on the grass before going back and retrieving the other three.
"You came here in hopes of granting one wish, correct? Did you give any thought as to what you are going to ask for your other two?" Stropo asks as he places down the last Dragon Ball on the ground next to the others.
"I thought of one, yeah. The other is more of a work in progress." I tell him with a shrug.
"Would you like some more time?" He asked.
"No, no... Actually... Do questions count as wishes?" I asked.
I was mostly sure that they didn't, but it's been years since I've seen or read anything related to the anime, so better to be safe than sorry.
"I don't believe so, no." He replied before then saying, "Then again, I've never used the Dragon Balls, nor have I ever seen them be used."
"Hmm, well if that's the case, I don't need time." I tell him.
My wishes were about as straight forward as one could get.
All-Speak.
Immortality.
The revival of the Supreme West Kai.
The reason I'm wishing for All-Speak is pretty straightforward, as is the same for immortality.
I'm going to need All-Speak if I ever want to use either the Super Dragon Balls or the Namekian Dragon Balls again, as I'd rather not have to need a middle-man for their use every single time I want to use them. In fact, I would rather not have anyone know I've used them in the first place.
Immortality is less about me living forever and more about the broken regeneration that comes along with it. The only thing was that I don't know if my Zenkais will even activate with me having that sort of regeneration, but that's why I intend on asking.
And the revival of the Supreme West Kai was always the objective here. I need someone who is stronger than me to take me under their wing, like Cooler did eight years ago, and she's the perfect candidate.
My first choice was the Grand Supreme Kai, but he was still absorbed within Buu, and I don't know what would happen later on if he was suddenly taken out of the equation. After all, the goodness that was inside Buu came from the Grand Supreme Kai, and he's going to need that goodness if my plan to take care of him was going to come into fruition.
It was the also same reason why I didn't revive the South Supreme Kai, despite him being the strongest of them. A good chunk of Buu's strength and power came from him, so he was out as well.
"Are you ready?" Stropo asks.
I look at the orbs for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and nodding my head, "Yeah, I'm ready."
Stropo holds out his arms towards the Dragon Balls before shouting out in Namekian.
"!htrof uoy nommus I ,eman ruoy yB !agnuroP lanretE"
(Eternal Porunga! By your name, I summon you forth!)
A few seconds go by and nothing happens. I raise a brow, but I didn't say anything, thinking that maybe it needed a bit of time to start. I waited a few more seconds and there was still no change.
"Are you sure that you said it--"
Suddenly, the orbs start to pulsate a bright glow, a low hum sounding off the now glowing Dragon Balls. The sky suddenly darkens and the previously calm waters of Namek start to crash violently against the land.
The orbs suddenly emit a blinding light, causing me to turn away from them as a bright beam erupted them and shot into the sky.
Looking up, I saw what looked to be a pair of eyes manifesting inside the confines of the beam.
"Holy..."
The beam reached into the upper atmosphere, a circle of clouds surrounding it as lightning sparked.
The bright light from the beam dissipated, leaving behind the visage of a large muscular dragon that easily dwarfed the size of anything I ever saw.
Even if I was in my Great Ape form, I wouldn't even be able to reach his midsection.
"Holy..." I muttered in awe.
"Yes, this is Porunga. In our language, his name means "Dragon of Love." Stropo told me, looking at Purunga with the same awestruck look as myself. "Breathtaking... This is the first time I've ever laid my eyes upon him..."
"You have collected all seven Dragon Balls. And now, as it is written, think wisely and I will grant you three wishes within my power." Porunga said, his deep voice echoing throughout our surroundings.
Hold on, he just spoke English!
I thought he could only speak Namekian?!
"Go ahead, Saiyan. Make your wishes." Stropo said, giving me a nod.
Shaking off my shock, I step up towards the dragon, admiring just how absolutely built he was for a moment before saying, "Before that, I would like to ask you a couple of questions!"
Porunga doesn't say anything in response and I turn my gaze towards Stropo, wondering what was going on.
"!hsiw a gnikam erofeb snoitseuq emos ksa ot ekil dluow eW" Stropo says to the dragon in Namekian.
(We would like to ask some questions before making a wish!)
"Very well. Ask your questions." Porunga replied.
I look at the dragon with an incredulous gaze before turning towards Stropo and giving him the same look.
"Are you telling me that he can speak perfect English, but he can only respond if someone is speaking to him in Namekian?" I asked with a vast amount of confusion written on my face.
"What is English?" Stropo asked.
"What is--?! The language we're speaking right now!" I exclaimed.
"We are speaking the Common Tongue." He says.
My left eye twitches, barely holding back my growing amount of annoyance before I close my eyes and take a deep breath in and out.
"Let it go, Zyleth... You have shit to do..." I muttered to myself before opening my eye back up and telling him, "Just ask the dragon to grant me the ability to understand and speak every language ever created."
"I thought you were going to wish for the revival of your friend?" He asked.
"I'm saving that for last." I replied.
Stropo looks at me with a raised eyebrow before turning towards the dragon and relaying what I asked for, "!nekops reve egaugnal yreve kaeps dna dnatsrednu ot ytiliba eht em ediseb nayiaS eht tnarG"
(Grant the Saiyan beside me the ability to understand and speak every language ever spoken!)
Porunga's eyes glowed a bright red and I brace myself for a sudden influx of information to suddenly tear through my brain, but I didn't feel anything.
"Did it... Did it work?" I asked, opening one of my eyes and looking around my surroundings as I slowly relax.
"?uoy era woh ,iH" Stropo suddenly asked me.
(Hi, how are you?)
"?flesruoy tuob' woh ,eniF" I replied instinctively.
(Fine, how 'bout yourself?)
My eyes widen and I let out a small shocked gasp.
"Holy shit, it worked!" I exclaimed in an enthusiastic tone.
"So it would seem." Stropo nodded with a small grin before motioning towards Porunga. "Now, I would hurry and ask your questions. I am unfamiliar with how much time you may have remaining."
"Right." I nodded, my eyes lingering on Stropo for a moment before I suddenly releases all my power and focused the flow of my energy entirely on him, causing him to pass out by the suddenness of it all.
"Sorry, but I don't think you'll take this question I'm about to ask very well. I've built up an image and I would hate for it to be spoiled by the next few minutes." I said as if he could hear me.
Plus, I've been wanting to do that to someone again for years.
With that out of the way, I then turn back towards Porunga and ask, "Porunga, what will happen to my ability to grow stronger from near-death if I wish to become immortal?!"
"Your ability to grow stronger after suffering from near-death injuries will cease to manifest itself. Immortality will heal you almost instantaneously. Making sure that you will never be near-death again." Porunga replies.
Guess immortality and the super healing that comes along with it are out of the question then...
Well, for time being at least.
"In these past few months, I've noticed my ability to grow stronger after sustaining life threatening injuries has decreased! Is there any way to restore it?!" I asked my other question.
"Your ability to grow stronger has diminished because you have grown too strong and the cells previously granting this sudden boost of power have been all but diminished. The only way to restore your ability and stop it from happening again, is to somehow restore the cells to how they were previously and prevent them from dying off again." He replies.
"Can you grant that unto me?!" I ask.
"I can. But be warned, while you wouldn't be immortal, you will cease to age." He answered, causing my eyes to widen.
Ageless, huh?
I guess it isn't as bad. Sure, I'm not immortal, but I get to keep my ability to Zenkai Boost. Not that bad of a middle ground, but all things considered, I'd rather not stop my aging at sixteen.
Plus, there's another wish on my mind.
"Thank you for answering my questions. For my next wish, I want the knowledge on how the Namekians create the Dragon Balls so that I may create a set of my own!" I tell him.
His eyes glow a bright red and I'm suddenly hit with a wave of information. The knowledge on how to create my Dragon Balls.
"Goddamnit, why didn't that happen with the All-Speak wish..." I said to myself as I placed my hand on the side of my head.
While I'm happy to have the knowledge, the sensation of it suddenly flowing into my mind like that was not at all welcome.
Now it feels like I have a scratch I can't itch...
"You have one last wish." He informs me.
I nod and respond with, "I wish for you to revive the West Supreme Kai at this very location!"
Before voicing my last wish, I take off my earring and ring, placing them in my pocket. I don't need the Supreme West Kai asking me questions about why I have a Potara and Time Ring.
Well, again, not yet anyway.
He seems to take pause for a brief moment, which causes me to think that maybe he wouldn't be able to do it, but then his eyes suddenly glow red one last time and appearing before me instantaneously was the West Supreme Kai, who looked quite confused at her sudden arrival on the alien planet.
"You wishes have been granted."
Porunga holds up and 'OK' sign before disappearing, the Dragon Balls flying into the air before suddenly flying away from each other at fast speeds, scattering throughout the planet.
"Should I have stopped that?" I muttered to myself. ". . . Nah . . . They expect them to be gone anyway... Besides, they'll find them on their own... eventually."
"Who are you?!" The woman Kai asks, looking at me cautiously.
Oh, right...
"Pleased to meet you. My name is Zyleth." I introduced myself, giving her a little bow. "And I just brought you back from the dead."
