Ash blinked and looked at the ceiling from his crib, making baby noises as his mind was starting to work, "Gah-go-ah!" 'Alright, it's been two months since I came here, and over that time, I've learned a few things about this new world.'
'Firstly, I noticed people in this world are built differently. Last week Delia Ketchum, or I guess I should say mom, lifted the fridge because she dropped my spoon and it didn't seem like she put any effort at all.'
'Also, I looks like I'm developing faster. If my new mom is any indication, I guess it makes sense. I can already crawl, and I'm only two months old. And my mom doesn't seem fazed at all by this based on what I've seen, this is normal development speed for babies in this world. At this rate, I'll be walking and talking in four months. Jeez.'
'Also-also, I always wondered how Delia had the money to fund Ash's stuff, well turns out she runs a restaurant. I think I remember reading about that in the light novel, but that means two things. One, some stuff from the novels are part of this world, so who knows how much more is included beyond the well-known stuff, could have some of the weird mangas like Pokemon Burst. And two, there's no shortage of people in Pallet Town who've come in and called me "the cutest boy in Pallet." I might be a baby, but I know a compliment when I hear one.'
'Speaking of Pallet Town, it's huge. I don't know why the games portrayed it as a backwater place with barely anything except Professor Oak, even the original series didn't give it justice for how big it was'
'Another thing that's... interesting: people do eat Pokémon in this world. Which, I mean, makes sense, Slowpoke tail is apparently a delicacy, when it is harvested legally, it's gonna be weird getting used to eating them, but he did always wonder what a Tauros steak would taste like, and you know Delia is a chef, but in the time he's been alive he has been given Moomoo Milk and Gogoat milk like it's just regular dairy,'
'Which means that at the very least Kalos is also common knowledge.'

'Ok now for the pecking order of things I need to learn about before anything
'First, I need to learn as much as I can about this world. I need to see if the history, the Pokémon, and the regions are the same. Is the Fairy type a thing here, or has it not been discovered yet? Do Pokémon have the same typings, or are there changes? I've got to learn everything I can from Professor Oak, as humanly possible, from battling and training to just research, he may get his cheat to train Pokemon, but I has no idea how battling with them is going to work, or how to even train them when I get it'
'Next is probably the most important, and maybe the hardest thing, the evil teams. Are they still around? Have they even started forming yet? How far are they in their plans? Or have they already faded into history? Something tells me if I don't find traces of them in history books, then the worst-case scenario is the correct one, and that's a problem, if something like Team Galactic is doing things i'm going to need to abandon Kanto and find some way to take them down, even if it means joining the International Police'
'Next is to learn about Aura. According to the anime, Ash has Aura and pretty big potential for it. And if I want to live I'm going to need to at minimum learn how to create barriers with them'
'Next up is to learn about Pokemon, specifically abilities, natures, Individual Values (IVs), and Effort Values (EVs). How to train them, how to get them to learn moves, are levels even a thing.'
'Next up is Ash's…special Pokemon, specifically why Charizard disobeyed, and why some of Ash's Pokemon couldn't evolve like the one time Bulbasaur went to the evolution ceremony for Bulbasaurs and wasn't able to evolve.'
'And lastly for now I need to learn as much as I can about the Gym leaders, Trainers, elite four, and even the league. If those few years of playing Pokemon competitively, and playing the harder versions of them like radical red, renegade platinum, and Emerald Kaizo. If I come in unprepared, I am going to get absolutely curb stomped.'
'For now, all I can do is try to remember everything I can about the Aura Guardians and Aura.'
'In the anime, we know aura can be used to:
Read the emotions and actions of another being.
Ability to "sense" other Auras and allows users to view through some objects.
Projection of one's Aura; such as to create barriers or attacks
Transfer Aura to others, but if the usher transfers too much it is fatal for them
Activation of time flowers
Telepathy
To see and speak to the spirits of the dead
To allow the spirits of the dead the ability to touch the physical world.
Supercharging moves with additional Aura
Heal people and Pokemon
Help with training
And help with bonding
If they have a Key stone they can sense a mega stone from miles away for that Pokemon
They can use their Pokemon to see
And for Greninja, was able to artificially create a new form comparable to mega evolution due to Bond'
'As far as we see in the anime that is everything that non-aura guardians do'
'Now a few things to note on this is, firstly the ability to find mega stones will be useful if I want to try and mega evolve, which I am. Also the ability of 'Bond' will have to be explored later. A lot of this will be important later but the priority is to learn how to use barriers. If the Mewtwo and Mew fight happens then I don't want to be erased, or turned to stone.'
'Also healing will be important but that comes second on the order of importance. Wait healing, does that mean Yellow had some latent potential in aura, does that mean Lance does too? I mean Yellow could heal Pokemon in general, can't remember if she could also heal people, and she could also understand Pokemon. But Lance could only do it to dragon types, he could also control them. Questions for later.'
'Now from what little we know about the Aura Guardians, they were a group of people that would go around and do good deeds and train those with potential. Sir Aaron was a hero that sacrificed himself, and might be the predecessor of Ash if that one Lucario's words were anything to go by.'
'Now from what we know from other sources the Aura guardians were able to do a few different things;
Read the minds and emotions of people and Pokemon
Able to have frequency resistance, allowing them to be protected from outside sources
Empowerment for themselves and Pokemon
Able to transfer thoughts and memories
Upgrade Keystones
Resistance to Mind control and mind reading
And everything else from before.'
'Now that may seem a bit underwhelming but we don't have much to go on from them, the fact they could do all that is impressive.'
'But now the problem comes that the Aura guardians are either in hiding or extinct, and I don't have a Lucario, or even a Riolu to help me train. And I doubt they wrote down their training techniques, and even if they did I doubt that Oak would have it. And even if he did, I REALLY doubt he would give me something that valuable. I can't Just go up to him and say I'm an Aura user so give me the book.'
'So unless I can find something, or someone, like Riley to teach me, I'm going to have to teach myself. The problem is, I have no idea how to even start. And from what I remember in the anime, Riley himself was still in training, not even a master. If even he hadn't reached the peak, then I need to find some way of reaching an advanced level of Aura use... and I need to do it alone.'
'At a basic level, Aura Guardians can read the emotions, intentions, and even the sometimes read minds, simply by observing their Aura. But with enough training, they can go further beyond, projecting their Aura outward as raw energy, shaping it into attacks, barriers, and even healing.'
'I can't even try to find another Pokemon with some form of supernatural force like Psychic powers. The manipulation of aura is different from the manipulation of other supernatural forces since aura uses raw spiritual energy instead of being a conduit of honed mental focus.'
'So yeah, I'm basically grasping at straws here. But from what I know, the best first step is probably meditation. If I do, I might be able to start sensing Aura and read emotions. From there, maybe I can work backwards, developing something, then slowly learning to shape and control it, maybe i can even do other stuff with Aura i saw in another show once, wonder if i can use it like Haki'
'But I'll need to be very careful. If I bite off more than I can chew, I risk exhausting myself, or worse. There's the danger of corruption, and if i do, i don't have anyone around to purify me, so best case i just get dark Aura, and worse case i lose it completely, neither of which are good'
'So for now all I can do is meditate and try to 'see' without my eyes, probably going to use a blindfold for a while, i'm pretty sure blindfold training was one of the first things Aaron trained Lucario on, maybe i can train it like people trained in Haki'
*As our protagonist did that, a little pink Pokemon that likes to take residency in pallet town, looked at him, and became interested, as the little mouse-like Pokemon flew away.*
