Sona and Rias were best friends—not because of their shared status as noble devils but because of the years of childhood memories. Because of that, they often discussed their problems and worries with each other.
It was no surprise, then, that Rias sought Sona out to discuss the arrangement she had made with Arthur. Sona and Rias often shared their concerns, and Sona, because of her sharp mind and natural talent for strategy, was the perfect person to provide insight.
The two of them sat together in the student council office, a place where Sona always seemed most comfortable. Both of their queens were not with them, as this was something personal, which their queen does not need to know yet.
Sona adjusted her glasses as she listened to Rias recounting the details of the deal with Arthur—the promise of training that would push Rias beyond her limits, making her grow strong both physically and mentally—and how Arthur used Nazarick potions to heal wounded issei.
Hearing all that, Sona tapped a finger against the table. "Rias, weren't we told by a young age to don't shake hands with anyone from Nazarick, or did you forget that?"
Rias sighs at this; she knows that Sona would ask this. "I didn't forget, Sona. But this isn't the same as blindly trusting someone from Nazarick. Arthur approached me with a genuine offer—I think. From what I see, he is not like the other we were warned about. Besides, he has already proven his intention by healing Issei."
"Which is?"
"I think he is interested in me," Rias said as she recalled the kiss she shared with Arthur.
Sona gave Rias a sharp look, her fingers pausing mid-tap. "That's exactly why I'm concerned. Healing Issei may seem good on the surface, but nothing from Nazarick comes without strings attached. Their reputation is built on their cruelty and power—and denizens of Nazarick only listen to Ancient One. Even we devils can't do anything dumb if this goes south; Nazarick does have one of the largest armies. And Arthur might be playing a long game."
Rias leaned back in her chair with a conflicted expression. "I get it, Sona; I really do. But I already made the agreement with Arthur. And Arthur...He feels different; unlike Principal Albedo, who is also from Nazarick, he doesn't seem like the type to hide malicious intentions. If anything, he is too straightforward, like he doesn't care about any consequences. He is everything I wished to be, and we aren't even that close yet, but I trust him; it's a weird feeling."
Sona crossed her arms and let out a deep breath. "Arthur may seem straightforward, but if he were to choose between you and Ancient One, he would choose Ancient One; you know how crazy their loyalty is. So don't get too attached to him."
"I will try," Rias said with a light laugh. "If you see me losing sight of what matters, don't hesitate to call me out."
"Of course," Sona said with a faint smile. "You know I will. Just don't forget who you are, Rias. You're not just any devil—you're a Gremory. If Arthur truly respects you, he'll respect your boundaries and your strength."
After Rias left the student council, Sona sat there alone for a moment and then called Tsubaki, her queen. within a moment a blue magic circle flashed and Tsubaki teleported in front of Sona.
"Bring Arthur to Student Council first thing in the morning," Sona said.
"Arthur? the new student," Tsubaki asked.
"Yes, the new student. There's something about him that I need to clarify. His association with Rias and his connection to Nazarick are troubling. I want to assess him myself." Sona said.
Tsubaki tilted her head slightly, sensing the seriousness in Sona's tone. "Understood."

Next Day.
Arthur didn't know why, but just as he barely stepped onto the campus grounds when Tsubaki Shinra, the vice-president of the Student Council and Sona's Queen, intercepted him.
"Arthur-san" Tsubaki said, her tone polite but firm, "the Student Council President has requested your presence. Please follow me."
Tsubaki is a young bespectacled woman with long straight black hair that extends all the way down to her knees, with split bangs and heterochromic eyes, with a violet left eye and a light brown right eye.
She is sexy as hell in one word.
Hearing this, Arthur raised an eyebrow.
"Friday, what is this happening early in the morning?" Arthur asked.
[Something good, sir. You are about to show off your chess skill.] Friday said with her usual monotone but that was enough for Arthur to figure out what was going on.
He was one step closer to his sister-in-law.
"Of course," Arthur replied with a nod. "Lead the way."
Upon reaching the Student Council room, Tsubaki opened the door and gestured for Arthur to enter. He stepped inside and immediately felt the shift in atmosphere.
The room was filled with countless books and a large desk in the centre, behind which Sona sat, her sharp gaze was fixed on the chess board.
"Arthur-san," Sona greeted; her voice was steady and composed like a true strategist. "We meet again, and thank you for coming. Please, have a seat."
Arthur didn't hesitate, taking the seat across from her. He leaned back slightly; his posture was relaxed. "President Shitori. To what do I owe the pleasure of this meeting?"
