A soft nod sounded as his fist knocked gently on the door, waiting for what the meeting with the headmaster would bring.
Adrian hadn't seen Deamon again, he had however been reprimanded by teacher Mystvale for an intensive hour.
He had to say teacher had made him feel like the child Deamon told him he was.
Open recieving an affirmative, Adrian entered and much like Deamon his father had black hair and a striking purple eyes.
Very much the same just older, sterner as he gazed at him from the seat he was in.
Deamon stood behind him, proud and tall in a way demons no doubt are.
"My son has told me of the circumstances.
Do you not find me fit to talk to?''
Acting accordingly, hiding the slight surprise at the sudden confrontation, he answered ''I did not mean any disrespect, it's just...I did not know in what way I could ask. ''
"Has your teacher not done his job adequately?
If so we shall find another.''
Drastic much? "It is not like that! I mean...we all know I am the first vampire ever in this school.
It affects both the students and everyone around me, I didn't handle this as I probably should have. It is my mistake."
It would be bad if he lost his only sympathetic person in the school, the two demons could not be trusted.
He had searched around late in to the night, sneaking in the records but there was no mention of demons ever coming or appearing near this area.
Even the history that he had been learning said no demons had been seen after the war, Aethelstan's words backed those up.
"No need for an apology, you are but a child.
It seems I didn't prepare well enough for your arrival."
Instead of saying anything, Adrian kept his silence.
''I have already decided that my son will provide you with a bottle of his blood every two days. That should suffice for now.''
I?
''That's a little-'' ''Did you have anything else of importance.'' ''Not at all, thank you.''
''You can leave.'' As he did, he stilled once more the headmaster called out. '' I trust you come directly to me if something is of the matter again?''
''Yes sir!''
The door closed behind him, leaving him with a breath of relief, the intensity of the air around him had been insane.
No doubt a finer method of that compulsury spell Deamon used just yesterday.
Whatever was going on in the room right now, Adrian did not know, silence spells no doubt activated.
...
Days passed since he recieved a few bottles of deamon's blood, consequentely a student in his class has been easying up to him.
Without even annoucing himself, he had continously pushed himself in Adrian's matters and kept note of everything. Wich included his habit of not really eating.
For the mere reason he wanted to see how long he could hold on with neither pills or blood.
"Say, what do you think of the new student that's coming?
I heard she was of some importance, big identity or such."
"No idea-'' going with an empty answer as he didn't particularly care about the other new student, who just so happens to join weeks after him, he continued.''It's a little odd.''
''It's been odd too you know that I haven't seen you take your pills.''
They told him, huh? Clearly on purpose, to gouge information, much like he tended to do then.
Except he had no need to listen in behind the corner.
It surely helped that the system alerted him of Deamon's presence, after he had set that up ofcourse.
''Do you try to avoid it?
Come on you can talk to me, I am your friend.''
Emotional blackmail, how efficient.
Adrian saw why they choose the student in question, no matter his first impression, the other knew how to play and use sentiments to his advantage. ''I only want to help you!''
"Nothing much...the bloodpills started having no effect.''
''Stopped?''
''More like slowed down.?"
"What were you planning to do?''
With a shake of his shoulders, he showed that he didn't know.
"I just realised but weren't you supposed to be having dinner with upperclassmen Deamon.'' Right, Deamon had decided he had no choice but join him for dinner once in a while.
He had no idea why yet, possible a check up or some.
So if it was revealed that he hasn't done what was expected of him, there were sure to be more dinners?
"Righttt, kinda didn't see the point. Obviously he just wants to scare me.
If not for that good reputation of his, he wouldn't even care."
"I wouldn't care?''
Turning sideways he was not at all surprised to see Deamon standing there.
"Leave.''
Upon Deamon's demand, his so callled friend left, with him leaving three other's joined in the room.
"Did you drink the bottles I gave you?''
Confused for just a glimmer, realisation soon showed on his face before even washing that away with a hurried expression.
''Yes, yes no worries. I uhmm should go, don't want to keep bothering you.''
It lasted a full second before he was pratically surrounded with the now clear lackeys, just for show. ''Stay, give them your backpack while your at it.''
Smoothly his hands moved it away, his red colored name glittering in the light, the bottles in it clinking against each other.
Adrian couldn't help but smile cheepishly, only widening as the bag appeared in the very capable hands of Deamon. Bottles dropping out of it, with whatever else he pushed into it.
A lot of homework he hadn't even started on yet.
"It is my responsibility to make sure you don't run rampant, sadly enough that reflects my whole grade for this year. So dare I ask, why is it your not taking the nourishments you need?''
''It is rather unusual to recieve blood directly from the son of the headmaster...how am I sure you won't stop whenever you want? Leave me to starve?"
"You pretty much make up my grade now, like I said.'' Purple eyes twirled in annoyance, clearly tasked with something he did not want.
"How do I know I won't be indebted to you, forced to repay the liters of blood gifted in the years I will stay here.''
''I am not a monster. You need it to survive and we need you in control of your actions.
It is a responsibility that comes with being a vampire, your parents should have atleast taught byyou that!'' What a surprising demon, speaking of responsibility like he isn't part of the race that tried to wipe out all the others.
A fragemented piece of history.
''I have arranged a personal teacher for you, a teacher that shall help you socialize and interact with students of your age and all those around you. The lack of vampire children around you, has no doubt impacted you."
Acknowledging what the other said, he still groaned, his lack of enthusiasme clear as even Deamon's lackeys grinned at his misery.
Opening his mouth to speak and interject was a quite useless action as Deamon did it for him. ''You have no say in this, in fact you have no say in anything. As long as you stay a student, you shall be under my care.''
Overachiever, nonetheless he nodded meekly.
''Good,..you have potential, you better not waste it.
Take your nutrients, I will keep an eye on you and I will send you a bottle regularly.
I shall not be so lenient again, in case of a next time there shall be someone constantly at your side.''
Nodding in understanding he watched them leave, Deamon staunch in the middle.
While he had only turned sixteen a while ago, the other looked nineteen, maybe twenty?
But he had far more duties than a student his age should, Adrian wasn't even crossing of the idea that the other could be older, immortal.
They make it seem a lot easier in the books, Adrian grinned in excitement.
This world had a lot to offer!
