Chapter 2 - Dancing in The Rain

About:
Pretty self-explanatory by the title <3
I tried out a kinda new writing style that would fit the atmosphere of this book so yea.
Y/n is pretty silent and there isn't much dialogue

I watch as raindrops slide down the window. I look around the tavern in hopes of finding something to act as an umbrella, sighing when I find nothing. I open the door and brace myself as I walk out with my arms over my head.

Before I could walk out any farther, I'm overlapped by a shadow. I open my eyes and look up to see an umbrella over me, blocking the rain. I look next to myself.

"Enjoying the rain?" Kaeya grins and tilts his head. "Why so surprised? If you just stand here, you'll get a cold." He holds the umbrella a little higher and signals for me to walk with him.

While walking, I can't stop myself from glancing at him multiple times. Only stopping myself when he stares back at me. By now the rain was pelting down. Kaeya hums a soft melody.

I notice how the moonlight makes his eye glow a blue dark enough, yet light enough that it takes on a smoky amethyst hue. How his earring swings gently every time he walks. When he gazes at the moon, how he becomes so distant.

He looks over at me with a smirk, and it causes me to look away. He comes to a sudden halt and I stop with him, "Why'd you stop?" I look at him with curiosity.

We stand near an alley. He hands me the umbrella which I have to hold a little higher so it covers both of us. He takes one of his gloves off and feels the rain with his hand. I watch as he does so.

He glances at me. "How do you feel about rain?" Before I could answer, he continues on. "I don't have the best relationship with it. But it can be quite enjoyable. Wouldn't you say?"

He takes one of my hands and looks in my eyes. "Care for a dance?" Kaeya slowly steps out from under the umbrella, his eyes never straying from my eyes. The rain had calmed down, beginning to take on more of a mist form.

I keep my eyes on him and I feel as though my body moves on its own. I follow him slowly until he pulls me closer to him. The umbrella falls from my hand, I take his other hand and his grip becomes firm. He looks down at me with a grin.

"Relax." One hand travels down to my waist, his other holding my right hand. The moist air causes my clothes to stick to my skin. I take a deep breath. "You do know how to dance, right?" Kaeya chuckles and leads me in a slow walk.

I do my best to follow along with him. Occasionally looking down to avoid stepping on his feet. Kaeya notices this and smiles. He continues moving and looks me in the eyes.

"You aren't too bad at this. Were you taught how to dance?" Kaeya chuckles. I can't tell if he's just teasing me or if he's serious. I give him a faint smile.

He never stops looking into my eyes with a soft expression. This goes on for another minute. Us just staring into each others eyes, holding onto each other. Nothing and no one seeming to touch us, not even the rain.

The rain completely stops. So does Kaeya. It goes silent. Kaeya tilts his head at me and gently takes my hand to his lips. Giving my fingers a soft kiss.

"Allow me to walk you home?"
