Chapter 1 - Reincarnation

Chapter 1: The Reincarnation

The sky was turning red as the sun dipped behind the hills. Wind whispered through the leaves. In a quiet forest on another world, something small was crawling under a bush. It was not human—but it had once been.

This is not a story about swords or magic.

This is the story of a parasite—a tiny, crawling creature, trying to survive.

But this one was different.

It still remembered what it used to be.

[EARTH – TWO WEEKS EARLIER]

Aeron Duskveil was a young biologist, just 18, working on a secret project with his mentor in a private lab. They were studying the DNA of parasitic life forms and how they evolved.

That day, everything went wrong.

An experiment using quantum energy went out of control. The machine exploded, and everything turned white.

Aeron remembered screaming.

Then—nothing.

[NOW – UNKNOWN WORLD]

He woke up in pain.

Aeron: "Ugh…"

Everything felt wrong. His body was wet. Soft. Cold.

He tried to move—but his arms weren't there.

He crawled forward, dragging his body over leaves and dirt. He reached a puddle and looked down.

What stared back was not a face.

It was a small, slimy creature with no eyes and no mouth—just a soft body.

Aeron: "No…"

Memories came flooding back. The lab. The explosion. His name.

He was still Aeron Duskveil—but his body was not.

Aeron: "Did… did the explosion send me here? Or turn me into this?"

He didn't know. But he was alive. Somehow, in another place, in another form.

And the world around him was nothing like Earth.

He heard loud footsteps and rustling in the bushes.

A massive creature ran past. It had six legs and a face like a lizard mixed with a wolf. Behind it, something with wings and three eyes flew low, hunting it.

Aeron: "This isn't Earth… This must be another planet…"

Suddenly, a glowing screen appeared in front of him.

[ERROR: Biological Data Mismatch Detected]

[Rebooting Consciousness Integration… Success]

[Welcome, Aeron Duskveil]

Aeron: "What… the…"

The message looked like a system prompt. Like part of a machine or a game.

Another screen popped up.

[Skill Available: Appraisal Eye]

[Accept Skill?]

[Yes] | [No]

Aeron: "A skill? Like in a game?"

He didn't understand how any of this was possible. But his instincts told him he would need every advantage he could get.

Aeron: "Yes."

[Skill Gained: Appraisal Eye]

[You can now scan and understand lifeforms and objects.]

His vision changed. He looked at a glowing mushroom nearby.

> Mushroom: Highly Toxic. Avoid Contact.

He turned his focus to a rock:

> Rock: Iron content detected. Harmless.

Then he looked at himself.

> Species: Parasite (Unknown Variant)

Level: 1

Status: Weak, Hungry, Fragile

Skill: Appraisal Eye

Aeron: "So this is what I am now… A parasite. Alone on an alien world."

He looked around. The forest was dark. Strange noises echoed through the trees.

He didn't know where he was. He didn't know why he was still alive.

But one thing was clear.

If he didn't find a host soon… he wouldn't last long.

Aeron: "No choice. I have to adapt. Learn. Survive."

He had once been a boy with dreams of science and discovery.

Now, he was something else.

And his new life had just begun.
