After talking to Prince Yule, Gene forced me to get unusually dressed up. Instead of my everyday jeans or sweatshirts, I'm wearing a tailored black suit with a red button-down underneath.
"Why am I dressed like this? I'd be more cooperative if you just told me," I say as I adjust my tie while looking in the mirror.
"I doubt it." Gene snarks while smoothing out the fabric on my shoulders.
"Just tell me, damn it." I snap.
"I was instructed to bring you to King Lao's sitting room," Gene tells me reluctantly.
Uh. I really don't want to see him. King Lao returned recently, but I have managed to avoid him until now. Well, I guess it wasn't really in my control. If King Lao wanted to see me, he would have.
"Alright, but why exactly do I need to be dressed in the nines to go see him?" I question Gene again as he checks me over once more.
"I only did as I was told. Honestly, this is how you should be dressed anyway. The grandchildren in this family are spoiled." Gene grumbles.
