This… isn't Jay's voice.
"Hello? Do you know what time it is? This better not be a prank!" The strange man's voice bellows through the phone.
Did I forget his number? No, he changed it again. Why did I think his number would be the same when I was the one who told him to change his phone number often for his protection?
"Uh, I'm sorry. I must have the wrong number. Goodnight," I say as I hang up.
"Wait! You, who are you? Your voice sounds familiar." The man asks frantically.
This is pointless. No one in Dalmane would know my voice. Ven hasn't had outside contact with anyone.
"I'm sorry, that's not possible. Goodbye." I say again, hanging up for real this time.
Shit hopefully, calling some random person doesn't come back to bite me in the ass. Now, what am I supposed to do? I don't know anyone else's phone number. Well, there is one more number I can try, though it's a stretch.
