"It was so fast, Honey. We should do it again later," Layla said, her face flushed with excitement, a bright pink hue spreading across her cheeks.
"Yeah... later... definitely," I muttered, still trying to recover from all the insane loops.

Layla, perfectly alright leaned against me, wrapping her arms around my torso and resting her head against my chest. She stayed like that, her warmth pressing into me, her steady breaths tickling my skin.
Around us, a few loners—who probably had no one to cling to—scowled in envy, but I ignored them. Instead, I pulled Layla closer, returning her embrace.
"I haven't felt this happy in... I don't even remember when, Honey," she mumbled, suddenly emotion filling her tone.
"Same," I said truthfully.
When was the last time I felt this at peace? This genuinely good and happy, without a single worry gnawing at the back of my mind?
