Cherreads

Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 - Meeting one of the top 10

Before him stood an eclipsing beauty in a way, he didn't know how to describe. If he let his guard down for even a second, he'd turn into a lecher.

At the same time, though. It was like he was standing before an inviolable being. The level of the itch was so high that perhaps even his own DNA screamed at him to procreate.

A being of a higher dimension. That was how he could describe her appearance. The looks, although otherworldly, didn't play too much of a role.

Were she placed on Earth, she would become the top 1 model. Long chestnut hair flowed down her body up to her waist.

Her green eyes were round and radiated an innocent energy. Overall, great shape of her body and bountiful everywhere.

The more he wished to compliment her. The faster he wanted to run away and avoid contact with this person.

Contradictions bombarded Magnus' mind. Were it not for the pressure she was still subtly emitting, he'd pounce on her like a beast.

Even spells against lust and seduction he'd crafted in preparation for something like this didn't help.

Only when he closed down his instinct senses and shut off some parts of his body did he calm down.

"Now that's a creative way to go about it. Others oftentimes just pounce before I have to remind them~." She said as her small cherry lips curled into the most natural smile.

Like an idiot, Magnus had to shut down parts of his brain, literally. Still, parts of his body waited, ready to erupt at his command, making him helpless.

He was not a degenerate, was he? Magnus contemplated his life choices as he noticed a hint of displeasure at his lack of response.

"Haha I am very sorry, miss. I don't know what you mean by those origins, however I'll go and ask the teacher. If fate wills it, I will definitely tell you the reason!" Magnus said as he bolted, with one destination in mind.

His room.

Although fatigued from a few hours of walking, it did not affect his total speed too much. Streets of people soon vanished and quiet stalls appeared.

'Wait quiet stalls?!' He thought as a chill brought his mind back to reality. The place became desolate with fruit and various foods still sitting on the counters.

Everyone was gone except the kind lad-. Sweat filled his back as he noticed the lady standing there waiting for him.

"Come on, don't run so fast~." She said as she booped his nose before he could even register her body moving almost 100 meters.

No fluctuations of mana as well. Moreover, even the Human System addons thought that before him was nothing more than air.

Most of the times. Systems target person's soul to confirm their existence before they latch onto it and read some information if they are strong enough.

"Hello miss! What a coincidence to see you here again. I am sorry, but I really need to go. You see, my friends are kind of waiting for me at the dorm." Magnus said with a dumb grin.

The entire time, his body was scanning for irregularities, finding nothing.

"Ooh, you already found friends~. Let me escort you then to see if they are weirdoes like you!" she said with her melodic voice.

Magnus felt like he was being held at a gunpoint. Some could say that it was worse than being held at one when one move could spell death much more painful.

He fired a bunch of generic words and questions which would make females so bored they'd just leave. It was one of his most levelled skills, if he had to be honest.

This time, he hit a rock wall. Not only she didn't seem bored, her eyes were even shining. Like a predator waiting for its prey with a hungry belly.

All the signals in his body said yes, with only his healthy brain fighting for the last piece of sanity he had.

"Hehe, you are a funny one, aren't you?" She said as her symphonic laughter almost turned his above average intelligence down right to zero.

'Even a succubus would have a harder time seducing someone than her!' He thought as he kept waging war inside his own body.

The previous owner of the body was clearly not a veteran, or rather, this woman before him was just too much.

Either way, he couldn't find a way out and so he resigned himself to the worst.

"So what would a beautiful lady like you want from a bloke like me?" He said with the most disgusting grin he could muster.

"Hehe~ let's be friends then! I am Monique. Nice to meet you." She said with an even brighter smile and extended her hand for a handshake.

"Sure, my name is Magnus. Nice to meet you." He said, whilst chanting hundreds of stoic quotes. From time to time, he would even mix in some Buddhist quotes to really stay grounded.

The moment their hands touched. Magnus felt soft and a bit cold hands. If he wasn't in a war for his life a few days ago, he'd swear that he was currently in a rom com game as some poor mob character.

With a light squeeze, he let go as soon as he could and awkwardly smiled. A bunch of boring questions later. She pouted and gave him a stare.

Helpless, he steered the conversation into the more interesting pastures as he worried that he might not live past tomorrow.

"What's the origin thingie, like our DNA or something?" He asked, totally oblivious.

"You're a weirdo, you know. This is basic elementary education. I guess that's why you have so many of those plastered on your body." She said and shook her head.

Not deterred by his ignorance, though, she explained everything.

Origin came with many nicknames, such as Grand Dao, achieving Nirvana, path to Godhood, and many, many more.

Put simply, it was a power system a person would choose when they first absorbed mana. Some would attract special mana, which either possessed some rare attribute like space or lightning.

Or in the rarer cases, a concept. A concept was a sign of great affinity for the path it was involved with.

For example, one could get a sword and be a genius in said area. Some could even get a concept like slashing, and every move with every weapon that included slashing would be mastered in a quick and smooth way.

She even told him that the most famous student in their whole academy was said to have seen the concept of infinity and boundlessness.

No one knew how much of it was true, but the infinity concept alone was frightening. Each path pursued infinite concepts like eternal lifespan or power.

Them having seen the concept of infinity meant that they could traverse the entire Origin without an issue. Moreover, boundlessness is like the concept of martial arts that enables you to fight across cultivation ranks.

This, though, was even more perverted as it was like a passive. It was like punching once, but their punched contained thousand punches.

He noticed one thing though as she talked about them with clear disgust. Not long after, he got to know why. Almost a quarter of the females were part of their 'harem' in the Academy.

The main character alert in Magnus' mind beeped so hard, his head almost exploded. In his mind, he began to prepare for the inevitable forced subordination or fight against the top one in the Academy.

After all, he must have been special, too. But things of that caliber? Clear main character whose feet cleaned Fate herself.

He'd even run across the academy naked if the overseer he met before could kill that person. She also mentioned some other notable characters in the school.

If the things he knew could be applied, most of them were children of providence. Which meant that they were either fated to be added into the harem or slapped so hard their ancestors would meet them.

'Too stressful.' Magnus thought to himself as he sighed.

"You jealous~? I am here, you know." She said with a teasing voice, pissing Magnus off for almost making him lose himself to his desires.

It was a constant test of will. Which Magnus was quite thankful for, as this wasn't in a middle of a fight.

'Tempering, yes. I am just tempering my will against these kinds of evil.' He thought to himself, in satisfaction.

Monique looked at him like he was some sort of weirdo. A small weight dropped from her shoulders, though unbeknownst to Magnus.

Their small talk continued as they walked towards the campus. Right as they got there, though, her face darkened for a second before she bid Magnus a quick goodbye and vanished.

"Never again..." He said out loud and dashed back to his room. The outside world felt like one huge trap.

His exhausted self caught up to him as he cleaned himself with a simple spell and crashed into the bed.

'Oh, I forgot to ask what her rank was.' He thought to himself as he dozed off a few moments later.
